From TWW I have seen some, shall we call it strange balancing of classes that really make no sense. From Hammer nurffing specs that are already dead or so buggy that there just not worth it at the moment, to buffing meta specs. In past expantions we have all been buffed / nerffed we expect it, and wile we might not like it or were overjoyed at some changes at least we could understand. Now at the moment nothing makes sence.
As am a Hunter lets look at Dark Ranger, a hero talent tree that anyone who plays the hero tree, will tell you is dead, we all crossed our collective fingers hoping for good changes with the rework, as I would argue Sentinel just isnt fun at the moment and Dark Rager looks and plays really nice. So after the rework, it was tested to death by the player base and though the beta we told blizz it lacked any dps and it was a buggy a mess in a tea cup.
So it was fair to say most hunters was hoping for a buff to Dark Ranger, and they Nerffed it o_0 even more??? Now there have more more strange balance changes that a 12 year old could say make no sence.
So am asking blizz to share with us there reasioning for a lot of the changes, help us the players (that actually play the classes) understand some of the… And am trying to be nice here when I say strange class changes.
It’s not just a TWW thing, their balancing always goes in some strange direction.
For example, paladin’s mana in PvP, they always buff it by like 10% for a month and then nerf it back. It’s been a pattern for like 3 expansions now.
Idk why they always feel the need to buff their mana and then immediately revert it.
Thing is, I really would like some insight into what it takes for class balance, at the moment it feels like its random week to week, no thought or planning. Just a headless chicking running around sprying blood everywhere…
Please blizz, put on your big boy pants and do a video a behind the scenes on how you balance the classes, So WE the the poor guys who play your classes can tell you how you SOULD do your class balance…
It is not random. It is perfectly explained in the most recent Class Balance patch for the 30th of October :
ALL you read is “Raid Performance”… ALL over the place…
So what they want to acomplish is that. To balance out Raids for some reason. Specifically Mythic Raids, because they are the ones most impacted by this. Heroic Raids are easy enough that you can go with any spec.
So they do their tuning. But they forget M+ exists, and in PvE its THE most played game mode. Orders of magnitude more than Mythic Raids. And of course, all this stuff has a MAJOR impact on M+.
And all this “running like a headless chicken” that you see is “damage controll” from the changes they have decided. Because a LOT of people start complaining. Logical. Nobody does Mythic Raids compared to M+…
You want to stop seeing this type of “weird tuning” ? There are 3 options here :
(A) Present players with a schedule. Say : First 1 or 2 months are Raid tuning ONLY. Forget about M+. After a set date, they shift priorities and whoever did not clear the Mythic Raid on time, then tough luck. Whatever the consequences.
(B) Divorce M+ and Raid tuning. Like PvP.
(C) Stop tuning classes and tune Dungeons more agressively.
You can take 1, 2 or all 3 at once. But the WORST that can happen is to keep things as they are.
See, if that was true. You would see changes based on that right, but killing a already dead hero tree after you reworked it coz it was dead to start with. Nope even in Mythic raiding that just dosnt make sence.
I dont play Hunter. So I cant coment specifically on Dark Ranger.
But I do know from friends what is going on with BM hunter. They got this really good talent “basilisc collar” and they simply cannot balance it to make competititive ST damage (raid) with out it being OP beyond reason in AoE (M+).
So they keep ping-ponging OP/Nerf from this 1 talent. And at the moment, Hunters are doing fine in the Raid (numbers wise) but suck really bad in M+.
Its the same numbers for MM, so I assume Dark Ranger has the same problems. But I might be wrong.
