Due to Asmongolds stupid thought of “I think they should reset WoW. Everything, even down to Transmogs and all that” (or something along those lines he said), I see in various channels like Discord (outside the forums) people mentioning this idea and discussing it. I don’t even want to talk that much about the topic here and rather skip ahead to ask the most important question that we should ask us all IF such a case would happen.
If World of Warcraft (and all your progress, including Transmogs) would be reset and modernized (in one go like FF14 A Realm Reborn), would you restart and keep playing or would you quit and never return?
I for myself can surely say IF Blizzard would reset WoW and all its progress, even down to all Transmogs, Titles, etc. I would quit and never return.
And Blizzard (and I’d wager any gaming company) have the brain power to understand how bad of an idea this would be. They’d literally throw a nuclear bomb on their on company. There’d be nothing but loss in every aspect.
The goal here was to make a facetious point about the redundancy of the suggestion, if people wanted another go around the clock, they can play classic.
I wouldn’t care tbh.I find there is already a lot of bloat in the game.
In Sl there were like 2 milion colours of the same mounts, which aren’t even usable atm due to dragonriding…
At least in Bfa it was fun cause you could sell the mounts on Ah…
So whatever I am not pro but I am not against either.
They are usable outside Dragon Isles though. And it seems Blizzard will add static flying to the Dragon Isles as well, so before expac is over, we dont need to use the Dragonriding ones in DI either.
I’d literally rate the opinion of a whale turd based on it’s smell alone over anything Asmon says. xD
I’d stay.
But I really don’t see them doing it. Ever. It’s really stupid tbh.
Unless their plan is to lose half of whatever playerbase they have left.
Just resetting everything is nowhere near attractive enough to bring in the amount of new players to compensate what you’ll lose.
Making a couple of fresh servers now that I can see.
As for a hard reset on retail, no, I already feel less attached since I stopped playing my vanilla characters around the end of Legion, so I probably wouldn’t play again if I lost everything. It’s already technically possible to hard reset retail by just making a new account and it sounds like a fairly uninteresting option considering how established many people’s accounts are.
This is a trick question. FFXIV ARR was a completely new game from the ground up.
So, you are asking us if we wanted WoW2 while not carrying that name.
The answer would still be that it depends on what would be different.
I am not attached enough to my WoW stuff to be unable to give a new game a try.
But, i would only play it if i enjoyed it.
