WoW being Reset completely. Imagine it would happen. Would you stay or quit?

All wow has left are the ppl, who dwell on these things like nostalgy, memories, farmed transmogs and such. Nobody else plays the game anymore. If they did this, they lose the remaining few ppl and could as well just bury the game.

I’ve no doubt people would want it and enjoy it.
Hell I’ve been hoping they’d do something like this for a long time. A wow 2.0 so to say.
It’s stupid for Blizzard to do it since they’ve already alienated most of their “normal” playerbase a long time ago over all these years and what they have left are primarily the collectors and prestige hunters.
So taking all the work these players put into the game and reason they’re playing will obviously make them ragequit. Understandably so.
And just giving everything HD textures and giving players an even starting field (which is only what they would do + mashing in some more current year agenda™) is not enough to attract new players (at least for long) since I’m fairly confident in claiming that’s not the reason people quit over the years or didn’t pick up the game to begin with.

Now I’ve haven’t watched whatever op watched but I can guess that the question is rather simplified.
I’d wager the real discussion is if Blizz should completely and properly re-make WoW from the ground up. Go back to the start with modern bells and whistles.
Which I think should, if they do it right and put in the effort.
Which I think blizz is incapable of (feel free to prove me wrong blizz).

Bro idc about your hate for asmongold to be honest. We got it.

Is a discussion on the idea itself, and to discuss an idea i need to know what people expect from a reset.

For me, high ressing trasmog, isnt not even remotely a reason to reset the game.
Achievement should not be reset, they add nothing anyway.

Considering Asmon also goes off about being unable to grasp a few buffs being active during pvp, he´s probably a 30 year old boomer suffering a midlife crisis.

That being said, would i play a new game? If its good, yes. Would i assume they cant pull off a newer, better game? No, absolutely not. Not in a million years. So them trashing 20 years of stuff and replacing it with a new title thats mid at best would be the worst of all outcomes.

And I don’t care if you don’t care. Great, isn’t it?

His rabid fans will say that the fact he said it, is reason enough to do so, as they don’t have the brain power to think it through.

Well… Considering OW 1 and 2 happened… I wouldn’t say the chance is low.

Well, they screwed themselves over with OW2 by removing the very aspect people wanted from OW2.

I would probably quit. Not because of any loss of items that I simply couldn’t live without, but because it would signal a fundamental disrespect towards all of us and our time invested in the game. I wouldn’t want to be a customer to such a business.

XIV had many things lining well enough that such reset was still possible. It was new game that simply put failed. There was no real attachment developed to the point of current WoW. They also managed to lay out the story to the point where again the reset made sense from narrative point. I doubt Blizzard could have pulled something like that off even if they tried their damnest.

Can we use a time machine and bring back the OG guys from 2003? Then it might work.

Oh my freaking… That’s absolutely the worst idea to how to pull out such reset.

OG guys created Cataclysm unless by that time they were already gone. Frankly Cata would be the best reason to throw a reset from narrative point of View even if it’s now pretty much like Bahamut almost destroying Eorza in XIV.

I’d keep playing, this account has nothing worth of pride or attachment.
I can farm mogs again; RIP some seasonal PvP sets but eh, whatever.

I did too, last year in fact - and returned a few months ago.

And only thing I miss is my ‘‘Kor’kron War Wolf’’.

Wouldn’t say it’s edgy - I think the name is more apt for him.

Who cares what Cyrax… I mean Asmonglod thinks.

In all Honesty Asmongold’s vision of the reset is dumb. Like it’s a surefire way to kill the game by kicking established players in the balls without even making it worthwhile.

Because what he proposes is essentially forced fresh realm. And it won’t fix any problems the game has.

You know like Fresh realms in classic that lie abandoned

Yeah, i would quit too!

Can’t be bothered to start over, even if it’s an entirely other game.

There are way better mmos than wow, the only reason wow is still alive is because people are attached to their characters.

Doesn’t even play wow anymore so not relevant anymore.

Maybe because you have nothing difficult to get on your account?

Only with certains things that I was proud of, like the Epic Brawler shirt for having done all challenger cards in MoP, as well as the Mushan from Rank 10. But it’s whatever. Perhaps a bit of nostalgia?

But eh, I can regain most of the things I had, and starting from scratch is kinda refreshing in its own way.

What’s done is done anyhow, no reason to think too much about ‘‘I shouldnt’’ and ‘‘I regret’’, it wont get the account back.

wow should stay in maintenance mod and they should focus on a new mmo , wow 2 or something completely different. resetting current game would not solve any issues it has. it won’t bring any new players and make old ones leave so i think they should let this one live while they focus on a new game instead of making expansions that won’t satisfy most of the playerbase for variety of reasons .
