I think the timing of it is kinda bad.
We just got firelands and sod is relasing new phase and aq will drop the same time as mc on a fresh server. So sod and cata gonna loose lots of players:s
Lovely announcement, but why on earth must it be either or when it comes to catering to the gdkp haters? Why can’t you just open servers for both sides? Gdkp haters have been spewing their toxic echo chamber bile on reddit for years, while those of us who enjoys it stay clear of the whole thing. Gdkp is such a superior format when it comes to pugging and not having to play in a guild on a set schedule. Why do we have to play sr or be in raiding guilds with the sad people who has had their entire life revolving around hating on gdkps the past years? They’re terrible players who don’t put effort into the game.
Exited to just play it on the side this time around. I admit I lost interest in SOD as the balance is just not good. I do feel sorry for people on that realm though starting a fresh server before the end of the season is kind of blow to the sod community and tbh classic + in general.
Who asked for a fresh HC realm? Should´ve just merge the existing ones. Way to go in terms of splitting the player base. DibSheeeets
Ok.
So I’ve got an spare character already at level 60 in any HC realm geared at max as possible. On launch of this fresh servers I’ll be able to transfer it to the Normal realm.
A “free” level 60 character on a fresh server.
I’m so hyped for this! Thank you Blizzard!
Please allow us to create both Horde and Alliance characters in the same pvp fresh server, since there’s only going to be one…
I really want to play a Paladin and a Shaman, and I prefer to keep my progress in one account, and with this limitation you’ll be forcing me and other people to get a second account, which a lot of people don’t like
obviously it means era.
I’d love to experience again the original vanilla AV, when it was an actual battleground without rushes.
Hourly battles, sieges and the need to get the NPCs up for win.
Gdkp servers already exist so no need for new ones☺️
Read the Rules of Engagement to see the HC friendly changes implemented. Mainly making Quests that kills you not kill you, making guards only hitting you not mark you for PvP (well they botched up this one), and making griefing bannable (also botched up).
I am an OG HC player, from back in 2012, where it was not called Hardcore, but IronMan, and I welcome the changes made by Blizz, which makes playing HC a way better experience - also when the addon took speed, many players took their joy in griefing and ultimately killing off HC players, using and abusing game-mechanics, often killing themselves in the process again and again. This is not possible on the HC servers
Playing HC on the normal servers is possible when HC players are a small minority (as we were in 2012) not when a large majority - as it happened on HW with the HC addon players congregating on normal realms, ruining economy, dungeoning and raiding.
I suspect that the fresh HC servers is simply a way to lure people into fresh at all. When you die, you can transfer to the normal realm - it would not do to make transfer possible from the p6 HC realms we have now into the fresh normal server, so they had to open up a fresh HC following the phases on normal fresh to feed people into the fresh realms.
I think this will not work, because this is not how the majority of HC players tick. While most HC players transfer some of their dead HC’s to Era, none of them really plays these tooms, only keeping them as trophies, but instead go again in HC.
Did I correctly understood, that TBC going launch AFTER all 6 phases in this new classic era, or I’m wrong?
right. Somewhen in early 2026 for BC.
I understand the rules, I leveled my first ironmal alt in 2015, but thank you.
All I was doing was providing a solution for the players that do not have the option of doing TBC HC on official realms because, as it currently stands, these will not exist.
I mean no disrespect, but as a fellow OG Ironman, you of all people should know that my solution works, and worked fine for the better part of 2 decades, until everyone and their mother felt the need to advertise to anyone that might want to troll them that they´re playing HC mode…
If people hadn´t taken this step to publicize their personal challenge by installing the addon, , nobody would have cared about them any more than any other char, instead of making themselver choice targets for griefers.
This trend of Blizzard telling the community what and how to play has to stop.
There are people that like to play this game a lot and invest a lot of hours. This is absolutely normal in online games with wipes, just look at PoE Seasons etc.
However Blizzard in the recent years has more and more alienated the Speedrunning and PvPing Community in Classic.
Stop telling people how to play their game, how to organise their loot systems and how fast to level to 60. It is super annoying and will not change anything.
If you were serious about RMT you would perma the gold buyers not try and hide the symptoms. Banning GDKP is a major bummer for anyone that enjoys raiding more than one character, they now have the choice of buying gold for their consumes or just not playing more than one character. Nobody will keep farming their consumes on fully geared characters, they will just not raid instead.
Yup, but the damage has been done, and cannot be undone, therefore I welcome HC servers. I was one of the few players, playing both normal and IronMan on HW when we got swarmed. It was not a nice experience.
PS. I played IronMan on the regular TBC and Wrath Classic servers all along
Bumping my own question. Apologies.
I feel this is something that should be addressed pretty quickly prior to the launch of the servers - it definitely will inform the decision making process for players.
Thank you!
I played Era since day one, never tranfered my char - This is not true. Era went from very small to very big without hiccups over its whole existence.
This is a fact.
If we are bringing QOL changes to classic - can Dual spec be concidered and maybe added? It helps a ton for the overall health of the game for people that have classes/specs who can tank or heal but want to do other activities as well!!
No need to apologise. It needs bumping and addressing for us to make an informed choice - as do the question of the end for TBC: Era or no Era?
While I really enjoy this option in SoD with 40, in Vanilla most players will barely switch roles or try out new things as soon they wear T1/T2.
After 6 month the average player will start raid logging anyway, or even start with the same class again with a different role. At least from my experience since 2005 and 2019, our priorities will change while playing.
I’m afraid that Blizzard sees it the same way because they have the data to back this up and for that reason they will not add dual spec.
