Wow Classic Anniversary is unplayable

Original poster is 100% correct and as others have said dungeons are the only real way to level at a good pace.

Blizzard in their wisdom, decided to massively increase the population compared to the original launch in 2004. If they had a little bit of intelligence they would of also massively increased the npc respawn rates as well. The original game simply wasn’t designed for this many players.

Double the amount of layers, 2k players per layer, dynamic respawn almost everywhere…

I tried to start over on a different character. Turns out the starting zone is as bad as the one i wanted to escape from, so the problem is not in number of layers but the size of them.

Make them layers smaller, please.

Have you never ever experienced that adding new servers leads to dead servers in no time?

Layers being smaller leads to more layers kinda…

Not necessarily. If one zone has 1000 players and the other has 100, one has 10 layers and the other has 1. Or is the number of layers server wide and all zones has the same number of layers regardless of amount of players?

Whatever the case is in this matter it’s too big. Make it lower please.

Thats how layers work, all though its map based if im not remembering it wrong so if there are 10 layers on eastern kingdoms it could be 1 layer in kalmidor technically

Absolutely agree. We need either one more PvE Europe realm or do something with the layer system. Maybe double-triple the number of layers and reduce the number of players on them by 2-3 times. I don’t know. I want to see changes.

Early morning, PvP server, one layer after server restart. STV is full of mage bots killing practically all quest mobs in the North. Never in WoW history have I seen bots be so brazen.

like someone already said now it feels like there are too many people but in later phases it probably feels empty so there’s no solution for this problem they could open new servers and people will split up and start on the new servers but after a few weeks the server will feel empty and dead so i’d say start on the pve server if you are on the pvp server and try if that’s better in terms of pop cuz pvp has atleast 3x more pop than the pve server

I level til 50 and had issue with mobs spawn and players on it maybe on like 3 quests, altho when I would come back later, it would be empty…Id rather see full lively world and dead and empty

I have mixed experiences with the game. Overall it’s bearable, it’s not perfect but it’s playable, as for me I only do quests with a group, especially when there are a lot of people on STV mobs, solo I only grind professions and gold to buy skills

For me it’s good. I had issues with layers literally first day, when I was suddenly phased out to another layer in the middle of the combat which frustrated me a lot. But since then I didn’t have that issue, so it’s good for me now.

The only thing I don’t like about layers is players spamming around everywhere, but I can live with it.

I, personally, don’t abuse layer switch (because there’s no in-game option for that, they use addons and that’s hack) and I’d prefer for everyone to play on the assigned layers, to keep it honest.

But there IS a solution. The layering thing they did for anniversay is the solution.
Increase layers now by double, maybe even triple, and when population starts decreasing you higher the treshold for a new layer, thu reducing the amount of layers again.

What is happening now is Blizzard just being incredibly lazy with this, both on the overpopulation issue and on the botting problem. They slapped a few servers up and don’t look after them because they just don’t care.

PvE server feels pretty good to me. Lots of stuff on the AH, meaning I can keep my weapon and shield (my preferred leveling setup) relatively updated on my Shaman. Sure I need to compete for mobs sometimes but it’s not unbearable. The layering system is annoying though, I was doing that escort quest in the Barrens when the NPC we were escorting got layered out >_<

When people say, i see dead zones…i wonder what zones they are referring too.
Surely it wont be STV/Blasted Lands, or in general any zone with a large quantity of killing mobs. Try Badlands, and completing your rock elementals questline.
I abandoned that quest so quickly, after realising every layer was overfarmed.
They are upsides to a crowded server, however the AH etc is not affected by layers.
So the economy wont change at all, by increasing layers.
If you want players to leave out of frustration, keep doin what u’re doing.
Empty servers in 6 months guaranteed.

Testing for char update

STV is unplayable.

I am levelling with my teen son and he was loving the game until STV. There was a few bottle necks like Raven Hill, but STV is really making me consider if we want to play another game together instead of this.

More than a month after the release and a person still can’t play nicely in STV just shows there is too few layers.

Oh so they are leveling up. I saw them like week ago in duskwood farming spiders

yes indeed is very frustrating!! I just spent 1 hour and a half to do TWO quests in southshore!!! some quest places just dont have good respawns and have 10+ people there doing the quest. Sometimes grouping is doable but most times are both factions and also people already in groups.

I really dont understand why they dont fix this… is like they do want anniversary to fail… when you add a freaking megaserver you make sure you support the idea!! Are they monkey heads? or just dont care at all…
