WoW Classic Era Ranking and poolboosting

To Development team

Hello,

Please can you help clarify if the classic ear ranking system still accepts characters boosted to get 15 hks and then subsequently being deleted, still count towards the poolsize for the week.?

On the Mirage Raceway Classic era merged server – horde side, we are awaiting our pvp rank updates this week and something is not right. We should have a poolsize of over 500 since we poolboosted more than 500 characters into the pool. We should have unlocked two bracket 14 slots. This was supposed to be my final week to get to rank 14 after 3 months. We have been using poolboosting for months now to help bolster the poolsize, the same as everyone else has done throughout wow classic.

One of my friends has lost almost 30% of rank 13 because it seems some of the alts we boosted haven’t been counted into the pool. Please can you get back to us with some information on this as possible and help us out please.

Regards,

Was also confused by this, would be good to get official clarification on the topic.

This needs attention from Blizzard, and a clarification. People have been grinding for this for months, do not rob them of their reward last minute!

It’s been all day and my rank hasn’t updated yet.
I farmed about 300k honor and my rank is exactly the same as last week. I would expect it to at least go down if the pool is not big enough, but nope, it didn’t go up or down - remains unchanged.

This is turning into a major headache… After not having being warned in time on an official date for the pre-patch, we are now facing possible rank losses despite grinding our time away just for the title.
Please, do something about it, Blizzard. Our time is just as important as yours.

This is total nonsense, the ranks have either not updated or if they did update, rank progress was lost, when it was not supposed to be the case. 188 players in the pool is one br14 spot. 500 is two br14 slots. There were over 500 people in the pool, yet players at standing 1 and standing 2 lost progress. This is outrageous. Not only did people get royally screwed by having the pre-patch so soon and announced 2 weeks before the damn thing, but now ranking is screwed in Classic Era. Noice

Can we please get a response from one of the community managers please.

Hello. I lost more than 30% on my R13 of why we still don’t know and this already makes me laugh especially about the fact of what trash company you are. in essence, those who have raised honor and created more than one character to help Poolsize have found themselves with a nice pole in the backside. a clarification would be appreciated. also because if you really put a Hotfix on the PoolBoosting without any announcements it is really retarded. abstain plebs like: you could start ranking much earlier instead of doing it in p6 or classic era. because honestly I don’t even care to answer you and what you think. thank you

same here missing like 30k honor compared to what i farmed last week

One of the many reasons I quit Era, Blizzard not accommodating this way of playing the game in the slightest, not even having the decency to explain to PVPers what’s going to happen. PVPers are some of the most committed gamers there are and Blizzard treat them like absolute garbage.

Just unsub and don’t look back that’s my advice.

Edit: just logged into my era char and my honor hasn’t even updated hahaha the devs for this game are so pathetic

blizzard don’t give a flying f about classic (era)

you think you do, but you don’t - them having to give us classic hurt their butts pretty hard and the only reason they went on with it us to milk us like money cows with the server transfers and now the TBC money train around

Same, no rank update. But im still hoping for the best for some reason. Maybe because after prepatch day, in spite of low population, this game is more like vanilla back in the days. People actually communicate, doing things together. I met a lot of nice people, made some friends. This is really awesome. Since i began to literally live in this game for last couple months i really dont want it to die. Part of me tells me that its completely useless, but i will not gave up until it turns out that im the last man on freakin Azeroth.

I’m glad I haven’t activated my Classic Era character yet. I left him at R12 right before prepatch hit. I just hope that my character is in a complete stasis and indeed frozen in time. R14 has been a childhood dream of mine and I really want to achieve it. I am able to do the grind, but Blizzard really doesn’t make it easy with all the interruptions. I’ll probably never get an answer about my rank actually being frozen or if it’s decaying at this moment. I’m just gambling on it by now, since I read that characters not activated yet will still have all the mail in the mailbox upon activation.

Bumping and following this thread in hope to get an official answer in regards to pool boosting! If my server is almost completely dead, I will too have to rely on pool boosting to open BR14 slots.

I’ve also read several places about people not getting a rank update since before prepatch hit (2 weeks), this is something that really requires attention asap.

Also; is the total player pool per realm only like before prepatch or is all merged realms sharing the player pool? 1 pool for all the PvE realms etc.

There is no official information about it.
I’d assume that the pool is shared between all the connected realms but you never know.

So, logged in today and still the honor tab has not updated for last week (whether with incorrect totals or not). What’s worse, it seems that the honor I gained yesterday has just straight up disappeared (15k honor) and the current week is showing 0 honor gained.

So what, am I not able to even fight the decay this week since the honor system is completely messed up at the moment?

Can we please get a response to all this from one of the community managers, where is Kaivax?

That useless Blue community manager poster Kaivax didn’t inform us, also didn’t inform people how the last week of honor farming would go. Obvious questions to us mere mortals but for the community manager not so much, the incompetent fool treats PVPers with disdain, he’s truly terrible at his job.

What honor you see in the evening never represented the honor you would receive, as its only a “guess” of what you have earned.

During the calculation over night, false honor will be removed. DHks were a factor once, but also diminishing returns are.

I am not sure how this whole boosting you spoke of works, but it could also play a role in the calculation if chars are from the same accounts or something.
Also consider that players who are still at Classic, might be discouraged to pvp if you steamroll them with your premade or have some other manipulation going on like throwing games.
It might be a wise decision to just play without these type of tactics so that more players are getting involved in pvp again.
Last but not least, if the old rank limits still apply, then it is of course much harder to get rank 14 with connected realms, than it would be without.

Its not the best time to go for Rank 14, sorry to say.

The honor tab is not displaying correctly at all, this is a fact observed by many players currently in classic era. Currently no honor is shown for the previous day in the current week, whether earned from hks, token turn ins or silithyst hand ins.

Poolboosting is a way of increasing the player base by way of creating level one characters and having them gain 15hks before deleting them and repeating the process. This is something that has been done throughout wow classic, by almost every server and every player who has ranked up to the high ranks. It is not against any TOS and was once looked into by blizzard, who were going to remove deleted characters from the pool but then decided against the hotfix, due to an outcry from the community at the time. They also clearly stated that they would inform the community if they chose to implement the ‘fix’.

I know for a fact that two bracket 14 slots were opened up on the merged PVE servers, made sure of it myself utilizing the poolboosting method described above.

Without poolboosting it would be impossible to achieve any ranks above rank 10/11, even before wow classic era on smaller populated classic realms, the only way for people to obtain the ranks they wanted, was to participate in some form of poolboosting.

The lack of any official response either by the development team or community managers just shows the complete disregard blizzard have for the players who have chosen to stay on in wow classic era.

goodluck with that as deleting a char in normal classic did not freeze them either and they still lost progress week after week (knowing so after restoring them later on)
