Classic is not about knowing every single soul on the realm, it’s about creating meaningful interactions between players. Illegal servers had way more population than original vanilla realms and they did all of that just fine.
Now I wonder how many meaningful interactions can you achieve on a half dead realm…
Oh no, I’ve been found out! Oy vey.
Yeah, the ancestors for sure deserve some respect. I consider them beings of the lesser (but casuality-wise necessary) species, sort of an alpha-version of my beautiful and ah-so-evolved race; Trolls basically are eternal children, they’re similar to, for example, the chimpanzees or some other Hominidae genetically close enough to humans. Nice specimens to observe and study. Guess I know what to RP now. Exploration! Studies! Observations!
See you around, comrade. Maybe we’ll meet dancing naked on a rotting bear corpse or something. Whatever those RP realms are about.
Chimps are extremely cute btw. I can look at them for weeks. Grotesque.
EU and US had diffrent realms this last stress test
Sure, see you, Miss Elise Starseeker : D
Meaningful interactions U do with Family and friends, not with strangers on the internet. When I said knowing the poeple on the realm, I did not mean knowing their personal lives. It was more meant like, what proffesions, are they trustworthy, good/bad player …
You turned the “meaningful” part way up the sky, and I did get what you meant by knowing people in wow, that’s what I mean too.
Again, it worked pretty well on high-pop private servers and it will work here, if layering won’t stay too long
20k queues could actually be useful and healthy, at least you can make yourself a breakfast and do something else like running around in circles or sleeping some additional hours without feeling like you could’ve been playing like an insane man rn, you know, ACCOMPLISHING things. Because you’re doing something, you’re queing, dammit!
Those 20k’s wont last long anyways, weaklings wont bore much. And you’re garanteed a populated (filled to the brim, really) realm this way, which is a bonus.
Realm names are there for all eternity, however, and that is a much more problematic issue if you’re autistic and obsess over trivialities. MMOs are popular among such people.
They promised to remove layering. See the problem now? Either they lied or they f**ked up. Which one is it.
Blizzard… you think you do, but you dont… 2 pvp servers for english speaking players? I hope this is a evil joke or something. I’m not a “math person” but what i do know is that classic release is one of the biggest game news/events this year. This wont be enough. Just add a few more or add Spanish speaking realms…
memory fades to the old times and a little realm calles SPINEBREAKER
Even tho the Spanishspeaking dudes and dudettes will do their best to speak English in general channels there will still be 99% Spanish in pug group for instance. Hola me amigos. No abla espanyol. Gato. Tortuga cerveza. Thats all i know… so yea? I am screwed!
Dear Blizzard
I am sad… i dont care about servernames
Call them trumpland, neverland or even microtransactionland!! But what i do care about is the community in classic wow. This will be a s*it show belive me.
Press the red panic button. Make some clickidicklicks on the old blizzardcomputer and add a few more. Worst case scenario. You merge some low pop servers some months down the line?
Bye bye!
Ok, so overall very bad names yes. But you really have the problem with Golemagg and Shazzrah??? I mean wtf Mirage Raceway??? And Pyrewood village??? Golemagg and Shazzrah sound like god names compared to these.
Global ignore list addon, I instantly ignore everyone I find unseemly.
Bonus: you feel empowered, like your ignoring them actually matters.
The Grand inquisitor of sorts, forging your own list of sinners.
Yep. They will never be able to remove layering with this amount of servers…
I actually see 5 PvP realms for Europe. Broken down into regional languages.
But don’t worry you all can have my spot in the PvP queues. I won’t be joining those realms.
they are, once the game’s economy and feeling is totally ruined by layering and people starts to leave to better quality private servers or quit alltogether.
sad.
Aside from the questionable name choices, I expected way more realms than that. Like at least 3x the amount.
Taking into account one PvP realm will already be taken by streamers and their sperg followers, that essentially leaves one PvP realm for people who actually want to play the game. Needless to say, queue times will be atrocious.
I am really curious to know reasoning behind the decision to have so few realms. Is Blizzard underestimating the interest of people for Classic? It’s like they already wrote a death sentence for their own game and expect it to die within few months, so why bother adding more realms, right?
actually, I like these names - both names of bosses from Molten Core it would be sad if they’d be called Mechagon and Nazjatar =)
Its god damn realm names can you relax lmao who cares about the name of the server XD
What a fantastic game this is. Truly my favorite game of all time. I am so looking forward to the official launch. I’ve taken a bit over a week off work. During the first weekend we will have a good old fashioned LAN in a friend’s basement. This will be great!
Just too few servers evidently. Even with the layering technology, if the cap is 3000 ppl to one layer and you don’t want to open 30 layers on a single realm… That’s just a few amount of all servers in English, because on English servers the majority of European ppl will play.
I don’t really care about server names, call it 1,2,3, a, b, c, mama, papa, whatsoever, but the number of servers is crucial. Consider it, please.
“ Yes mate, gunna play Classic mate…What server u ask?.. Lets go Hydriaxian Waterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…”
fel asleep due to too long realm name
#shorternamesplease
