I used to own this when I played the very first final fantasy MMO, the one before ffxiv.

I honestly hope not! Xbox for example does not deserve WoW. And for me, it just wouldnât work as a console game.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster
recently bliz put an ad out for an Xbox game thatâs going to go into their battle net launcher.
Now, I know we have been forever debating this topic, but if anything, WoW will end up on Xbox Game Pass so that Microsoft has something from Blizzard in its launcher.
Edit:
I would also like to point out that after writing this, I went to Google and found articles trying to promote the idea of WoW going on Game Pass. We know that media plays a huge part when it comes to things like this; it gives the illusion that itâs what people want.
I hope so, I would like it very much

Honestly - I canât imagine WoW coming to Xbox, or any console, at all. The game would need a major overhaul for that to be even remotely possible in terms of gameplay.
High M+ and mythic raiding on a console would, I imagine, virtually be impossible. Not only is it way too fast paced, you also are required to use multiple addons and I donât think addons on âConsole-WoWâ would be a thing due to various reasons. Modding also isnât a thing on consoles.
But as Iâve said, apart from the addon issue, you have the difficulty issue. FFXIV works because the GCD is so long that you can drink an entire cup of water between each key press but in WoW the GCD already is way shorter and gets even shorter the more haste you have.
Yes, there are some weird people out there playing M+ with a controller already, Iâm aware of that but theyâre a very, very small minority and letâs be honest⊠most players already donât find 70% of their spells on a keyboard, let alone a controller.
FFXIV also was made with consoles in mind from the ground up - WoW would have to revamp a lot of systems in order to make it play smooth with a controller.

Pretty sure you can use KB & Mouse on consolesâŠmight be wrong though
Works when browsing the web. Guess a game will need to support both.

You can use KBM on Xbox but youâre also right that the game needs to support that. For example - Iâve played Halo Infinite with KBM on Xbox because I cba to play an ego shooter with a controller.
Worked great but some other games donât support it at all so it just doesnât work unless you buy certain hardware that converts the signals.
That being said - I doubt that Blizzard would port WoW to consoles just to tell people âwhat, you guys donât have keyboards?â.
Itâd be silly to port a game to consoles only to tell the entire playerbase to use KBM instead of their native controllers.

Yeah, theyâd just offer a special WOW-branded âcontrollerâ. It worked for the likes of Guitar Hero and Mechwarrior.

XBox at Microsoft now just refers to first party Microsoft games.
This now includes Blizzard.
If WoW comes to XBox Consoles, you should expect to see it associated with some kind of âXBox Seriesâ shenanigans.
It should of course be noted that WoW already plays well with a controller, though frankly it takes more getting used to than Iâm willing to put up with.

To be fair with MS new marketing you are already playing WoW on Xbox⊠lol.
with all the addons and stuff ppl use, i would not be surprised. seems the game can be almost automised. i dont use them much though.
Definitely cannot automate everything, but for most classes youâre going to have hell to pay if you donât use them, especially WeakAuras. The others are pretty much optional outside Mythic raiding or very very high keystones.
We get new players and probably a dip in queue times, people should not gatekeep this possibility. There are FF14 players doing the hardest raids and content on controller everyday and they get their loot at the end.
People are just worried that WoW controller players will be slow. And thatâs okay. But they will get faster.
If it comes to Xbox, let the controller players play together in separate servers to get their bearings and explore what weâve had for 20 years, then after a few months in a patch, I say open the floodgates
difference is ffxiv doesnot depend on addons .wow does and consoles have strictly no addons policy or modding .
plus ffxiv did a very great job with controller compatibility and have a dedicated team .while wow has none .
so you are basically comparing apple with oranges
I hope it comes to ps5 tbh.
Who even owns a xbox in 2024?
