Wow Era Pc Specs

Why is it, that Classic Era uses more cpu and gpu (almost full 100% usage on low gfx specs) than retail (which uses not even 10% on normal gfx specs) on both my i7 laptop and my x9 ryzen desktop, which are both not even 1 year old?

Can this to be toned down, or is this another way to try get people from classic era into retail again? To be honest, classic era looks better gfx wise than retail imo.

Even with everything down to the maximum, (everything lowest option at 1) classic Era still uses 70%! of cpu and gpu on both gear, on powerful computers. This really should be able to improved no? A computer 15 years ago, ran classic with much lower specs, with less resources. Some advice please? Really don’t feel like wasting and overheating 2 new computers.

It’s not the first time I see people complain about it, but no real solution seems to exist yet. Any advice.

Is because - my theory - Blizz use new client for Classic and a bazilion addons to hide all new stuff. Addons use much data.
I know totally crazy – but can also explain why sometimes you see things not belong to Classic, like Quest helper Golden arrows :tinfoil-hat:

I need more information.
Like your PC specs, when this happens, monitor resolution, graphics settings.
I ran classic Era with no problem on my i7 from 2012 just a couple months ago, so I’m pretty sure it’s not just the game.

working fine with old systems. Better than retail as performance wise i can say. Maybe you should try directx 11 legacy.

My old system →
intel i7 3770k
gtx960
some motherboard and other things with 8gb ram ddr3

quite old system and the game is working perfectly 0 issues.

Are your settings different in both versions?

Do you limit the FPS to your screen refresh rate? Era is much simpler and without a limit the laptop can push a lot of FPS.

Also addons impact this a lot

You really should do some research before saying things like that, this is not the same game as 15 years ago, it’s the same game from 8 years ago as it’s using the Legion client and I can run it at maximum settings for just about everything and get 200+ FPS.

Some settings really kill the FPS and make little graphical difference. Using CPU graphics will cause problems.

I do not have a top end PC, i5-11.6k@3.9Ghz, RX 6600, 32gig memory, MSI Z490 (MS 7C79). Nothing is overclocked.
