WoW feels like a job

Jito wins the Internet for today.

Never had a feeling like this, because I think M+ is like having to do your homework and not getting rewarded.
Homework at least gives you the feeling you learned and achieved something. M+ is a chore which gets you a +1ilvl which no one cares about.
So I prefer doing what I like in WoW and that’s definitely not M+.

I keep seeing this argument but why does it matter if I the content your doing is doable with 15 gear why does it matter other people can get better gear with 20s

Do we play the same game ?

Lucky you, three days per week my job feels like solitary confinement

I guess this is the price they have to pay for having a game that had plenty of their loyal customers hooked up for almost 2 decades.

Eventually trivial content becomes stale, and you have to have something to keep people interested, so you bring in the difficulty scaling, and when over the years they get better and better at beating it you tune it up.

I remember raid leader’s asking for

what tier you using
what level is your weapon

NH and TOS espcially on heroic were far from PuG friendly same with ToV and Helya

The M0 and Normal raid side of the world tour thrived due to how it helped enhance your chances at getting a legendary to drop.

Mythic plus should never have been created, end of diskussion!
“It ruin the game, removed the fun & killed the game with toxic players!”
That’s what contest games does, bring in ash**s & toxic players, reason I played wow was none contest…

$Blizzard$ clearly ruin that…

“If you want contest & hard played games, go to Dark souls or join Albion online for toxic party times!”

Blizzard has killed the ejoyment in this game, end of diskussion!

It was made for groups of friends and small guilds who wanted a challenge and could not fill a 20 man rosta.

No the players ruined it like usual with out rageous demands.

You might want to remove masked swearing could lead to a ban.

its “discussion” and its the playerbase who piled on the demands

“what tier set you got”
“what raider io you got”
“what spec are you”

None of the above are made by blizzard.

You have to keep in mind that difficulty is relative, and it is fine if you reach a point where a difficulty is too demanding. That is the point where you reach your limit and should stop.

The difficulty did ramp up at the high end, and to an extent in heroic up until this point, and yet that was still enough for almost 7+ thousand guilds to achieve ahead of the curve this season.

On top of that the highest difficulty, mythic, was stripped of some of the things that made it an attractive prospect, like unique transmog pieces. Every gear piece looks exactly the same as previous difficulties, just in different color.

Having a high end difficulty was never a problem, there needs to be one for those who want to challenge themselves, but there are also those who do not want to do high end but still want to have some challenge. That is what heroic should be, and currently that balance isn’t always on point.

From the perspective of one who was raiding mythic and almost reached every endboss before the end of the tier the biggest difficulty lies in players themselves. What my general observation is that the average player does not know their rotation, and is oblivious to even the simplest of mechanics. They are also prone to panic even if they are notified of a mechanic ahead of time. This makes handling mechanics pretty difficult.

Even in other games, especially older games the game teaches you basics, game mechanics, and then it put you into encounters where you were forced to put that klowledge into practise. If you did not you were more often than not stuck. In WoW the issue is that most content are so easy that you do not learn these on the way to max level, and thus when you step into heroic, where this knowledge starts to become important, you found yourself battling both the mechanics and your own spec.

Keep in mind that we do not have that many external sources of damage now. It is all built into our specs, so lack of knowledge amplifies the skill discrepancy between players way more than in previous expansions.

This is what Blizzard needs to find a way to fix. The content does not have to be difficult during leveling, but educational, as easy content breeds complacency, and you end up pushing players into an environment where the skills thry skipped on are suddenly required now.

Make outworld content engaging, more challenging, but fair. Teach players how to use their toolkit, as without it you should not be surprised that the content feels too hard. It is if you also have to learn your class/spec in the same environment.

The difficulty isn’t an issue most of the time, but rather it is the lack of proper education players get of their class that is. Improve on that, and a lot of issues players have with difficulty will drop.

If you play in moderation it really doesn’t feel like that. It seems like you could use a short break my friend. Playing solo like me can be an awful experience. Frustration like you said. It has become a job for players who boost. The game seems to be locked for most of us, unless you play with RL mates or are in a demanding guild. This is why I made wow less of a priority. Many seasons ago.

A break will do you wonders.

The OP is right in a lot of ways.

So much of this game feels like a massive chore and it’s not even the fact that its now +20 instead of +15 for keys or that the scaling is more difficult but even the dungeons themselves are completely obnoxious to play through. I’ve played this game for 17 years and I can’t imagine running these dungeons on a wheelchair class like Death Knight because they don’t let you stand still for more than two seconds without a swirl spawning underneath you, then they want you to stack whilst spreading out.

I don’t think I genuinely enjoyed one of the new dungeons this expansion. Sure things like AA and NO are the best of a bad bunch but what else is there? Dragonflight’s version of The Nexus, Azure Vault. The most tedious and aesthetically boring dungeon ever, unforgiving bosses.

You log in week by week and you aren’t excited to play any of these dungeons you just get to a point where you feel relief it isn’t a certain affix that will bog you down on a certain week. 405 rewards from the dungeons, at a key level that make things like RLP on a +20 at least as hard as the first few mythic bosses in VOTI.

Maybe as a DPS the situation is completely different but I healed since 2005 in this game and it has never been such a thankless and stressful chore. Ruby Life Pools and AV I did on a 20 key once for the score and I refuse to go back into them.

you dont have to do +20. stop with htis nonsense

you can just do +15 like you did in past - its just GV rewards for it will be much more appropiate and good players are no longer forced to carry baddies in 15s for free .

I absolutely doubt you do, BOY

Last time I checked, no one is holding a gun to your skull and forcing you to do +20. And before you respond with something like “but doing 20s gives the best loot” I can tell that you are a person who does not enjoy pushing high keys or prolly doing mythic raid. So then my question to you would be, why do you need the best loot?

if mechagon fun why mechagnomes worst race in wow /ALL MMORPGs ?

Because it is fun and cool to push keys when you got high gear.

You don`t understand simple concept as HUMAN NATURE

  1. Is human nature to want the best there is to offer, especially in a virtual world such as a videogame
  2. Its called “hedonic adaptation”
  3. Thats why the rich people want more money. The drug addicts want more drugs. The alcoholics want more alco…get it?
  4. Its the brain chemicals that drives us forward and its called “PROGRESS”.

Its natural for people to want the best and not against the human nature, so yall can stop “settle for LFR” speech ok?

Well I guess something is wrong with me because I don’t feel this way about a VIDEO GAME. I casually chill, have fun and don’t bother myself with the nonsense yall cry about.

Is like going to an all inclusive buffet, when hungry, and deciding you will have an apple. And ignore all the meats, pasta, pizza, seafood, steaks, deserts, because an apple also helps the hunger
