So after so many years and a market just keep being here (wow services that breaks blizzard EULA) is it time for Blizzard to rethink the times we live in? Time for Blizzard to make an official market for ingame currency/items/services for real gold? A real auction house. Pixel items for real money.
Some years ago i would find this thread offensive - but times and minds change My changed in Legion - my heart bumbs when i write this. Because i am crying inside. I have been around after a year when it launched back in Vanilla ( the first vanilla ). I have seen how it all have evolved. From something that was special to what it is today. A Pixel gold machine.
Blizzard themselves abuse the very players that supports them.
Once we where all equal and used effort and teamwork to get to the top. We all just had a sub and didnt care for gold.
Tokens changed how people interact with the game and pulling in those that likes to spend all day farming for gold. But for what exactly? Pixels?
Today professional teams can run you through anything anywhere anytime for REAL money and ingame gold that can be changed into real money. And Blizzard cant stop that.
Taboo? Am i a bad guy now for saying it out loud? Why do i feel bad for even typing it. Am i just not the person that keeps my eays closed and live in denial?
I have loved this game and it has been some fun times. But this is my turning point. In life i try to be real and come to solutions rather than seing people forced into darkness. Criminilized.
Why does a person steal? because he is a bad person? Or because he needs food/clothing/money?
If money. What does he need it for? drugs?
Then the solution is to give him all the drugs his body crave for. By professionals. With psychologist. He needs help. He doesnt need hand cuffs and a criminilized life.
Most bad lifes that is sick usually comes from a sick sorrunding. Bad real stuff that destoyed the mentality of the given person. That person needs help. Not cuffs. Not Taboo and a blind eye. That is not a solution. The solution is a professional solution. From big minds. That doesnt care for big pockets.
What i am trying to say is that the system Blizzard is holding onto doesnt work and doesnt give the picture of what WOW is today. The game is sick. Criminilized. For some not all ofc. People still enjoy WoW but there is a market. behind the curtain.
The moment this thing will become a reality i will ditch everything Blizzard related, already did that with EA, Activision (their main IP before they stuck their fat fingers into Blizzard.) and UbiSoft.
A game should remain a game and not an online shop / casino.
The biggest problem and strength of WoW is the crowd that plays the game.
If WoW ever sells gear directly I would stop playing. It’s a ridiculous thing to suggest in a subscription game, and if the game ever goes F2P I will drop it immediately too.
Sure lets go back to when gold selling was rife and people were losing their accounts left, right and centre.
There is always going to be a market for buying gold but I would much prefer to have it via Blizz and the token and all other RMT systems banned than going back to the bad old days of gold selling and the fiasco that was the RMH on Diablo.
How about this, Blizzard actually do something about the RL money people selling things.
To start with ban anyone for a lifetime who advertises in the raid finder, ban botters for a lifetime on all their accounts , not just the one that bots and use real people to do it. Ban anyone who had their DND or away message set to a website.

They should outlaw any and all boosting services, because it’s a ‘gateway-drug’ to real money transactions.
