Wow housing just won the MMO war

With more people being into this sort of thing these days, FF14 and other mmo’s are going to see a massive drop off.

This is pretty much what I wanted since starting 20 odd years ago. It has lit a fire in me to do all my outstanding Achievements and i feel they will only improve it as we go.

there is no mmo war . some people like ffxiv ,some people like wow and hint : it has nothing to do with housing .

I highly doubt people who enjoy lets say FFXIV’s gameplay loop will quit that game and mass migrate to world of warcraft just because it had a housing feature added.

Sorry but WoW has never had real competition in the MMO space it’s always been the undisputed king.

There has been an mmo war since they invented them… i should know I played the first ones and ever since.

This is wrong, it went form 12 million to less than one million and ff14 took off along with others.

you underestimate how many people want housing in ff14 and cant get it. Housing is big deal to the majority of mmo players, I’ll bet you what you like housing becomes the most played thing in wow.

I’m not underestimating how many people want housing in* ff14 and can’t get it, I’m stating that it’ll take more then housing in wow to make these people switch from FF14 and WoW, these games are very different in gameplay loop, aesthetics and story.

Maybe some will dip their toes in wow to check out the feature but if housing is the only thing they like and the gameplay loop is horrible to them (like how ff14’s felt horrible to me) they’ll not stick around.

I hate to break it to you but FF14 is done, you can see it in the creativity the devs, streamers and players. you will see a lot of people leave.

If this is true then I would argue any migration is by the failling of their company, not wow getting housing.

Housing feature …wow amazing … i can sit on a chair …and have a bed and is an amazing feature that is so amazing that is amazing …

What housing will provide .

  • Players will decorate homes with trophies, crafted items, and earned collectibles.
  • Each house’s interior is fully modular, allowing players to build multi-story structures.
  • Neighborhoods are instanced and support social and seasonal activities.
  • cosmetic items

I prefer to play Sims since they offer full package rather than praising a Garrison 2 style feature …

Whether you like it or not, playing most very mmo since they were invented, including ff14, and wow for 20 years, does give me insight into the genre.

FF14 is done… its only a matter of time, and Square enix as a company is in trouble as well.

Playing the game, watching dev videos, streamer videos, player opinions, and the fact that Square Enix is in trouble as a company.

10 years ago yes. Wow was massive wow was the top mmo king but now?
A example 10 years ago on twitch wow used to be top on views and when they had pvp tournament it was top and now? Barely have 10k viewers during tournament and some of these are twitch bots.
