WoW is a fun game and it's not

Been trying to play WoW again, since I was an alt-a-holic and my experience.

Leveling, questing - Leveling as getting experience is not that bad, quests are fun, but very easy in a way makes the experience rather boring (as no challenge is involved, not even as optional) (made-up challenges are not going to make it)

World content is ok by gw2 standards (like events and world quest), but nothing constructive or interesting.

Most of the game is oriented toward getting gear.

In PVP you can enjoy yourself usually, except when you are honor geared and everyone run around with conquest by now, demolishing everyone else, by simply having the gear. Now you could say you will get conquest faster in the next season, and that is just … meh

I haven’t played Mythic or Raid, because those require guild or pug life, and those can be quite toxic for no apparent reason other than the game makes everyone that way, as they require time to do and it is punishing players in a way if they can’t make enough progress in time.

Most of the game now is about the Great Push, and this is outcasting casual/fixed gameplay, now I don’t say this is wrong, but somehow this creates a very big discrepancy between new, returning, class switch players, and player pushing beyond a certain difficulty.
You might say that this will work out as people should play lower difficulty until they get better, this would be ok, but the party interface notion is no such thing, and relies on the community to come up with something. Good, they just ignore you if you need to learn, as don’t waste my time, and you just need some of these to feel discouraged.

Cosmetics are fun to get sure, but that’s all.
Pet Battle is a fun little minigame for a few, that’s cool too. (although I can’t stand playing it)

Old content is not favored in this game, so there is nothing really that can be done, as it is either easy, one-shot boring, or not fast enough for an adventure-style lore-telling book. (Grindy with no real reward whatsoever (gameplay experience)

Well, I think I just will log in once in a while, to see what they add in-game anything actually fun, or feels worthwhile, watch Bellular for lore, or perhaps get a game mode of its own with fixed progress like the old times.

Add non-timed Mythic, which has no high score, and gear that is not compatible with Mythic +, even raids. A chill Mythic, call it Mythic -, lol. It would remind me of the old Heroic, just fun and less stressful for people who just want to play and not make a sport out of it. This way you don’t have to remake the game mode, but still get one.

Ps. Have fun, if you can ! :innocent:

If you have any game mode, or fun to share please do so, if the game needs people and communities, they need a place to stay to play and nothing keeps them here if not something to do, they can enjoy!

there should be queue for m0. lfr and wq gear should scale up to m0. each patch. keep all zones relevant and catchup mechanics in place…

raiding is a mess without a guild or a core of tank/healer group

Ok, i will leave my hot take.

M+ is the only fun thing about this game if you have a regular group that does multiple toons. Everything else is boring and just a barrier to get to the fun (professions, gold making, leveling, etc.).

And here’s mine: Conquest gear should not exist, Honor gear should be the only PvP gear, and Rated PvP should only have cosmetic rewards.

Conquest points should be used to upgrade the honor gear past a certain PvE item level but again, that should only be PVE item level (same way honor is used to upgrade stuff, now).

Honor gear should be scaling to highest ilvl in PvP.

Conquest capping is an outdated and incredibly boring system that does nothing but time gate the PvP experience absolutely needlessly.

I want to be able to level a character to endgame, then get full honor gear in a few hours and just participate in Rated PvP without being at a gigantic disadvantage “because I need to catch up on my conquest cap”.

It’s a waste of time, Especially if you want to play more than one class.

An alt of mine recently had hit honor cap before reaching 70. Why should I be able to hit the cap and immediately buy the best PvP gear there is to offer?

Because there’s literally no point in time gating it??

Who cares that everybody always has the same item level in PvP?

Edit: It only matters in PvE because gear progression is the main reward in PvE. In PvP it is not. It’s a requirement to get to the actual gameplay. A prerequisite. A terribly annoying one.

It would matter if gear worked like it did back in classic with High Warlord / Grand Marshal gear, where the gear was incredibly strong in PvE, or in Tbc where certain pieces were locked behind a rating requirement and having the full gearset actually meant something because you had to hit a certain rating to get it.

This is not the case anymore.

Does Thorgast scale with my mains max level? (as I have one now) (or zerit mortis)

no but on 410 ilvl is actually really fun content to do

expecially if u like mounts/pets/transmogs

In theory this is the perfect solution, but in practice it will kill said content (as it has in the past).

I might look into it, thanks. (if you say it is fun)

As to answering AnnAconda as well, there still needs to be a change in the game, not everyone plays for the Mythic + timer experience, some just want to try hard content slowly (maybe try the timed version later).
No doubt giving M0 an LFG que is not the best idea, as people just would want to RUSH it for gear, ruining it.
Also, I agree with Retributor on one point there should be a gear level at 70 as the game is so adamant on the endgame, that is egally obtained easily to start out with, but this would/might kill crafted starter gear dunno. Yet, M0 should not be the start out point, yet I am not a qualified master at this, it is just an opinion.

i would do thorgast untill they revamp it
hapened with mage tower and brawl guild.

thinking of it i reminded, we have island expedition still

you can solo them now on mythic and the transmogs are hilarious
i actually got my first swimming mount jellyfish from there
and transmogs are boe so u can sell as you wish. there is vendor with mounts for dublons

i think the problem is the game is aging badly now.

this style of game wont really attract many new younger players.

most the player base will be older people who grew up with this style of game and hold good memories of it, and it will be that nostalgia which will carry this game going forward as the play counts slowly dwindle over time.

if you look at “palia” the new mmorpg…

it has abandoned the hardcore aspect and just focused on the community and casual … and is being very positively reviewed right now.

people are calling it “stardew valley/animal crossing meets world of warcraft”

It looks nice but what do you actually do?

Palia is indeed fine on paper, but lacks in gameplay, it’s a dreamy version of runescape, with no real personal progression, maybe the house building and world exploration, combat is non existent in a way. It is a social minecraft with item depth and no blocks,

Sadly it’s too chill for me.

you work as a community to build civilisation basically.

while maintaining your own land and upgrading it.

yeah it would not be for everyone.

it’s basically the casuals mmorpg if there was no hardcore elements.

which is great for a lot of people who find wow massively lacking in those areas.

maybe blizzard can even learn a thing or two from palia.

it has reputation systems which work like stardew valley.

and multiple different types of professions to work on , hunting being the combat.

for anyone interested.

Fun is so subjective.

For example when collecting transmog/toys/mounts etc from old content I like that I can just stomp my way through it. It’s nice to do chill stuff sometimes. I don’t some scaled version. I avoid TW raids like the plague because it’s not something I enjoy.
