As a returning player it really puts med down when I see how many players there are today that are frustrated with this game.
Back in my day, everyone loved Blizzard and because of that we all had something in common.
We all loved this game and you could see that in the way players treated each other.
Today, the community seems to be very divided and I can’t wrap my finger around as to why, it’s very unfortunate because World of Warcraft is an amazing game.
The world, the art, the MUSIC, the gameplay, the combat and everything else about it is just amazing.
We seem to forget that Blizzard is the TOP G.
That’s why they have Elon, the literal owner of Tesla spending a good amount of his free time playing one of their games, he’s also one of the highest rated players in the world.
It’s easy to take Blizzard for granted and forget how much work they put into these games just for us to enjoy, but I won’t.
I appreciate World of Warcraft very much.
Thank you.
Agreed, it is a great game.
Sadly somewhere it became edgy and cool to be a hater and sheep follow the herd…
In a world where technologies and possibilities increase. WoW doesnt evolve and even decrease and loss values du to the greed of $$$ as Diablo 4 does for exemple.
The quality overall of the game is decreasing every years. I guess it is badly driven and as a customer you can strongly feel the difference over the years from “we love our game” to “milk the player base”.
That’s sad because I join you it is a very good game.
Blizzard used to be a top G, sure. Now though, through losing good staff, pandering to real life politics, “toxic” work environment and being bent over by the shareholders, Blizzard is now a shadow of its former self. Rushed content, not listening to players, repeating the same mistakes over and over again, not respecting players time even whilst they continuously use that phrase as their slogan. It’s a pitty but that is how modern companies work.
Elon musk is a measure of nothing. No idea why his name has been used to back up your argument.
Agree to above.
But I also agree with the two statements above. Somebody in another thread called the expansion TBW = The Bugs Within and it made me smirk because there does seem to be a lot of ongoing bugs/problems.
So I will ask you the question, whatever happened to the famous Blizzard polish? I would say we still see it in the artwork and the music, but gameplay not so much.
I think I would now refer to myself as an ex Blizzard lover From WoW being my go to game, it is now a game I will dip in and out of and take longer breaks when what is on offer is not enjoyable for me. I would say a lot of people will also see the game this way, there are lots of good games out there/emerging and I think it’s a healthy choice to mix things up a little, after all this is not a marriage or a long term contractual agreement, we should be paying to enjoy ourselves, not for some misguided sense of loyalty to a profit driven organisation!!
it is direct consequence of the world we live in .if you see outside irl it is same . so the people project it in other things they do even gaming .
Funny how you feel that Blizzard doesn’t respect the player base when your attitude is a part of the problem.
Players like you are never satisfied.
Blizzard probably realized that long ago and just decided to do it their own way.
And of course they have to pander to real life politics, it’s a real business, in real life.
Btw the new trailer for The War Within was rushed?
Nerub-ar palace was rushed?
Warband was rushed?
The new zones were rushed?
All those things are totally awesome, you are just blind to it.
Elon Musk, is one of the busiest, one of the most powerful men on the planet and he spends a lot of time on Blizzards game.
That actually speaks volume about Blizzard’s talent when it comes to creating and maintaining games.
Back in the day Blizzard was a completely different company run by completely different people, some people don’t realize that the company has changed and still believe they are the same people from 20 years ago running the game.
The complaints are not against the workers from back then, it’s the workers they have today which have an opposite mindset, which usually goes against the playerbase and whose only purpose is to shamelessly suck our wallets dry, as opposed to 20 years ago.
I don’t understand this phrase “suck our wallets dry”.
How are they doing that exactly?
The subscription price has gone up by 3-4$ in 20 years…
Then we buy an expansion every other year for like 50$ and that’s it.
With things like this they only care about $$ while the game is still full of bugs.
The subscription model is completely outdated, there are no other games besides WoW (and final fantasy 14 which copied the same model) with that subscription method, the only reason they get away with this is because to this day they still have no competition.
If you want more examples, take a look at the customer service. Back in the day it was THE BEST, they would even contact you in game and they would help you with anything you needed. Now you have to wait a week for a bot to respond you and it will never resolve your issue.
So the more money they have, the worse service they provice, you know why? Because WoW is not a game made with love and passion anymore, for the people running WoW now, the game is just a fruit that they are going to squeeze until there is no juice left.
Edit: if you wanna laugh read the first commentary here and the third commentary on the post i linked
You don’t have to buy the brutosaur.
This trend has been going on for a while now.
Back in 2019 you could buy the Devil May Cry Ultra Limited Edition for 8000$, that’s 6100 euros.
It came with a cosmetic jacket.
League of Legends is selling skins for 500$.
You need to pay a monthly subscription to play online on both Xbox and Playstation so just stop, because you’re making it seem like we don’t live on a planet where everyone tries to monetize literally everything.
I can totally understand why the customer service has gotten worse.
And Wow is most definitely made with love and passion, that’s why it’s so beautiful, some people just can’t see it.
League of Legends is free to play, WoW is not. Giving you the option to buy collectionist items is very different from forcing you to pay a monthly sub + an expansion every 2 years.
Yes and this kind of model is also despicable, especially because it was free and they changed it, that’s why I will never play a console ever gain, yet it’s still better compared to WoW which is monthly pay + 50€ every 2 years.
Do you not realize how contradictory those two sentences are? If the game was made with love why would they cut costs on the CS just to make some more $$ they don’t even need?
Last time i felt that wow is something interesting to me was when i came back after wod when i quit after selfie camera
And i went back and i played legion for the first time it felt amazing and that feeling was with me until shadowlands dropped
then i was cured and this game was no longer interesting to me on the same lvl.
I can see why the customer service has gotten worse as in Blizzard has a lot more games now, World of Warcraft is far more advanced now than it was back in the day.
I believe this game is maintained with love and passion and I think about that almost every time I play.
Just like in 2004 when one of the CEO’s had the idea that he wanted to create a game where the weather is in sync with real life.
When it turns dark outside, he wanted it to turn dark in-game.
Nothing about that has changed in my opinion.
Such a weak statement.
Quest: Kill 2 mobs
Sowee: y U nO rEsPeCt OuR tImE?
I guess thats the kinda logic that comes from someone who quit an expansion before they’d played it because they were scared of the theme.
Yeah well, no one is perfect, don’t forget that.
They have more games but also more money than they ever had, they do have the means to fix the game so what is the excuse for leaving the game in such a disastrous state?
Sniff as much copium as you want but the reality if you analyze the resources they have vs what they do, the objective truth is that they don’t care. TWW has been out for 3 months and half the hero talents are still bugged, the game is laggy and class balance is all over the place.
Old Blizz would have never disrespected the playerbase with a 90$ mount which they stated that it was gonna be unobtainable after BFA expansion, so things have indeed changed.
My only guess as of why you think like that is either you haven’t been here long enough or you’re so casual that you don’t understand the game at all.
You think you know a lot more about running a multi-billion dollar company than you actually do.
Your point being?
And there you have it, wow 2024 is very different to wow 2005 “back in my day” when I begin. Blizzard has changed alot since aswell. Ofc peoples opinions change when the setting change where their opinions are based. Maybe they dont like the way the game has turn to be.
Dont see the point of the thread exactly but if youre happy you have the right to express it as people have their right to express their displeasement so there you go. Both parties expressing their emotions and opinions towards the game and both in full right to do so. Also understand that 2005 wow is not the same as 2024 wow and all is in order here.
