Wow is still top mmo

You missed humans with bunny ears.

It is kind of crazy that none of the other developers seem to grasp it that people need something fun to do that keeps them playing and coming back you would think after 20 years somebody would have gone wait a second maybe class stories are not the thing that people stay and play for 20 years (swtor).

And it kind of backfires against other mmo’s atleast for me when i look at all the stuff i have acquired over the years and then i look at some new mmo and think should i go and do that all over again or just stay where i already have all these things and the answer for me atleast is always i just stay because most mmo’s i have ever played i end up hating leveling or most likely i dislike what the endgame is.

For me, There are many reasons not a single one. And I did try few other MMOs and always went back to WOW.

I played Age of Conan, Rift, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Guild Wars 2 and none of them lived up to WOW.

Ffxiv is slowly getting there.as it was released quite sometime after wow release

I found Final Fantasy XIV to have an utterly repulsive community. It pretends to be polite and friendly up until the slightest difference in personal preference and then all sorts of unhinged players crawl out of the woodwork to harass and stalk people over bizarre reasons.

The development team also squandered the setting in general, it went from something relatively mature and inspired by the Ivalice games to a very infantile narrative with minimal stakes and broken aesops galore.

The Elder Scrolls Online I like for the housing system but the combat bores me terribly.

I have issues with various aspects of World of Warcraft but for the time being it’s the best offering on the market at present.

The risk they taking now is they are cannibalizing their own player base. With classic for example players will flock there and then SoD and retail will suffer. The problem with this those that don’t play either genre feel it in game and so they unsub. The more that unsub and don’t return the less there is to go to classic and SoD. Eventually one mod will suffer the brunt and die just like HoS did. So yea, eventually WoW will kill WoW.

Hearing wow is a top mmo is always coming from the people that are addicted to something and always going to say the best ( and that’s totally fine )

But if you look at e current numbers is totally a fail .
The number of bots is equal to the number of players (even higher ). ( Just a company of bots has 12k bots - my merged 6x servers has 3k total players  )
The lore has been butchered to the ground with no interesting characters and at some point even appalling.
The game has become seasonal not reminding any kind of MMORPG elements . In the past 6 expansion from tens of thousands of guilds they never bothered with older tier . ( basically if you start 2nd or 3rd season you will never see and not even need to do/experience the older tiers )

The game hasn’t attracted any new players instead falling down at the point that is making even older gamers to quit .

Right now my whole experience in this game and as majority of others is waiting the weekly vault for a chance for an upgrade that 1st week of the second season i’m going to swap my 639 ilvl 6/6 mythic to the 1st explorer or veteran gear that is higher ilvl …Still they promote those seasonal Diablo.

I’m 2 hours today for trying to get the gem for the ring today . ( You know how many @#$@$ and !@#$ i hear from the people swearing this amazing mmo ? …yep that’s the amazing game-play we have )

Your claim about number of bots being equal to or higher than number of players is totally made up. There are no confirmed statistics nor there will ever be, these are just speculations. Also comparing the 12K number with the population of a dead realm is arbitrary and makes no sense.

But assuming that your claim is true it is still proof that the game is a top MMO. The fact that companies deem it profitable to create and run bots for wow, where they just don’t care about creating that many bots for other MMOs, means the other MMOs are not worth creating bots for.

If an MMO has more players than WOW, botting companies will definitely create bots for it.

WoW grew at the right time for a game to be an MMO

Other games came out too soon or too late for that.

FF14 is a worthy rival to WoW at least in PvE, to the point where WoW started trying to take some of its ideals after FF14 also got inspiration from WoW during its remake.

PS: We do not know the exact sub numbers for WoW so we cannot compare, we just know that both are doing good enough

How come you think “everyone” is in this state.
Endgamers are anything but highest number of WoW player

well im not addicted to WoW.
i would hop on new mmo but there is none worth it

and i will never touch classic wow because why ?
slice and dice is casting automatically =3
thistle tea is drinking automatically =3
poisions last forever =3
and i get to have 2 charges of vanish just like vanilla talents =3

retail is only improving and we get housing

atm running some endgame in PoE2
but how much can u run maps again and again lol

its good to have a healthy relationship with games : D

so i am TWW S2 waiting room
ton of content to do to catch up
i was catching up half year in shadowlands
spend 3 months in maw alone lmao

Because it’s still simple(ish). And most successful games are simple games. (CS,GTA, etc).
It doesn’t have systems which are reliant on realm population such as castle/city building, or actual world changing pvp.
And that is a good thing, since every mmo with “revolutionary new feature” has failed as soon as realm population became imbalanced or insufficient.

wow doesnt look like an Anime from japan

thats why its the best MMO

also

the combat system is slick

i played gw2 for couple years, and stopped as i just couldnt get over the UwU anime style

Wow had always smooth animations, every other mmo Ive played the character looks like sliding on tracks or something, running and combat and other animations are not so well made as in wow. Wow animations are best in slot.
