There is no information where vendors are you have to use a website.
There is no information where the lfr npcs are you have to use a website.
There is no information where instance entrences are you have to use a website.
There is no information where you get a transmog from when looking at items, only boss name, you have to use a website.
Every other mmo I have played the game tells you everything you need to know, all vendors have icons on the map, it tells you where to find specific items etc but not wow.
The vendor at the flight master, didn’t know it existed. Mythic key guy, didn’t know he existed. Vendor in korthia selling the chisel for the gems, didn’t know he existed. Nothing told me they existed.
You have to go to a website to know anything in wow.
Nah its all fine, at least you have Guards at every city to ask main directions. OP, I suggest you to get 2nd monitor so you can have wowhead opened on it to not bother with ALT-TAB. See how excellent QoL I offer to you?!!
I bought a game guide for Skyrim it was so complex…
I love game guides, I still have my old WOW ones from the first two expansions knocking about somewhere…
In my main game Destiny 2 every Vendor except for the exotic item vendor you have a marker for on the map.
Much better experience over there than finding NPCs in WoW.
Edit: Even Elder Scrolls Online has markers for almost all vendors on their maps. They even added markers for hard-to-find collectibles like Shards once you found them.
I really don’t care searching for stuff, but a lot of mechanics and endgame stuff is really hard to understand and find. I still don’t know how I make a legendary, upgrade it and which slot I should have it without regretting it later.
This whole thing is completely outsourced into fanpages, WoW itself doesn’t help you at all with that.
Same goes for new players that get thrown into SW or OG and confronted with tons of quests that all lead in completely different directions and stories.
There is tons of problems like that.
I tend to agree. Stuff are supposed to be semi hidden and encourage exploration, but people are just used to have all information available to them.
First time I went to Stormwind I had no idea what wowhead was. I just ran around trying to see as much as possible of the place, even found a toy vendor patrolling (which I was too poor to afford at the time).
But yeah the problem is they add new places and stuff each patch, so it’s almost impossible to keep up with it without an external database.
