Wow seasons should last only 3 month's. Games too boring

Please try go back to the model of releasing tiers every 3 month’s instead of 6. Playing the same raid & 8 dungeons for half a year is just boring as hell

It would be nice to have a faster schedule, but let’s be honest, they would only create more bugs, that we would all have to experience and spend even more time complaining about :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s only boring because of the affix changes. It used to be different pulls etc. Now it’s always the same. 12+ is literally the same every week

Not everyone rushes content; the game isn’t made for players who do everything in the first few weeks.

If you’ve donee everything you want to then take a break, it’s allowed.

Agreed, I am not even doing seasonal content and can barely keep up.
Really dont need stuff to go faster

But 12 weeks isn’t a few.

And given the Seasonal format of WoW as it currently is, the content really doesn’t take 12 weeks to go through, and neither does whatever difficulty progression you’re pursuing.

There aren’t really any Season-based games that have as long Seasons as WoW, and the only reason why WoW has these long Seasons is because the game is driven by content and Blizzard can’t make a new zone and raid every 3 months. They need 6.

So we get some minor patches in-between to try and add some additional gameplay value to a given Season, like the 20 year Celebration patch we currently have.

But honestly it’s a pretty poor Season format, because it does take longer than the content actually lasts. And part of the reason is probably that we don’t play the game like a true MMORPG anymore, but rather like a Season-based ARPG like Diablo IV – and Seasons in that game are ~3 months.

But it is what it is.

This retail pace we have right now is perfect,i get to do everything,pve-pvp-alts and im not even half way there!
6 is fine.

I think based on the in-game activity that we see continuing to drop as a Season drags on, that it’s not perfect. The player activity should be pretty stable from the beginning to the end of a Season, as that would correspond to a length fitting of the content playability. But we don’t see that. We see high activity in the beginning, and then very low activity by the end. That’s not ideal from a general perspective.
Sure, the more you pile onto your own to-do list, and the more alts you play, the busier you can be in a Season. But the average WoW player isn’t juggling 20 alts across PvP and raiding and M+.

Plus, there’s a difference between the first Season that comes with the expansion box product content, i.e. 4 zones and brand new dungeons and new features and quests and leveling and so forth, and then any subsequent Seasons that are basically just a new zone, a raid, and different dungeons.
That first Season may feel loaded with stuff to do for many months, but the following ones definitely don’t.

It can, some guilds progress through two difficulties.

“Some guilds” amounts to how many?

So far it seems as ~8k guilds have cleared Heroic and ~5k have killed the first boss on Mythic.

So not only is the number of guilds extremely low to begin with, there is also a considerable drop-off between Heroic and Mythic.

And Normal + Heroic progression is definitely not a 6 months endeavor for a lot of guilds either.

For me expansions and patches have always gone too fast so I’m not in agreement with that

This has been always been the case

got 4 chars total ,raiding with 1,with others doing pvp (nothing high rating)
I like that they are slowing the pace of the game and everything,it should be like this, not to rush everything in 1month.

Only Blizzard have that answer.

Not all guilds will be on wow progress. Not every guild will raid every week; not every guild will raid more than once a week.

No, I like having ample time but doing stuff last minute!

That has never happened at all

and +12 keys are more fun in M+ than I’ve ever had. No dumb affixes to deal with, it’s heaven!

Not all guilds log there raids, also a lot of players pug normal/heroic

Depends, if you play often it’s the same every week

And…?

I mean, it’s not a good thing.

If you’re Blizzard you don’t want players to get bored and stop playing.
And if you’re a player you don’t want to get bored and stop playing.

But they’re not slowing?

They’re firmly committed to their 80(?) day release cadence and their (to be seen) faster expansion release schedule.

Blizzard are very much in the business of trying to up their snail pace development, because they more than anyone else recognize that it’s bad that players drop off as the expansion goes on and the Seasons drag out.

Are you saying that there’s an unreported number of guilds so high that the documented numbers are unreliable?

If the number is 8k and 5k respectively and you sour doubt about that, what’s the statistical uncertainty that you’re gouging?

If players successfully PuG the raid, then that’s the content being done, right? I mean, at that point you’ve seen the content and reached the epitome of your difficulty progression. So why should the Season continue much longer?

You say that like it’s a bad thing.
