Wow seasons should last only 3 month's. Games too boring

Well, wehen PvE “Seasons” were introduced, teh only part o0f the playerbase that really changed much for were the (comparatively new) m+ crowd, because OW players didn´t care, raiders have always had “raidtiers”, PvP already had seasons since forever and a day… it was really only the M+ crowd that got a free cookie, but not in a bad way.

Why I dislike is that it noticably accelerated the invalidation of whatever we were doping 6 months ago… All the way up to Legion, if you wanted to gear a new player /char for the new raid, you ran the old raid for adequate gear.

That died when seasons were introduced, because there was this underlying assumption (good old diablo 3 logic being misapplied to WoW once again) that people would want their newly ground out gear to universally be superior to everything from last season… Now you can´t even farm a freaking legendary from last season to be mediocre this season (ex DF s2 vs 3 as well as 2+3 vs 4), nah, instead it’s now crap compared to even Worldquest and LFR drops from teh current season, which is a large part of why there´s nothing really legendary about them anymore and it´s potentially healthier for the game to never introduce another one ever again.

Because you can´t “force” someone to run content they don´t enjoy (pardon the stereotype, but , literally anything that´s not M+) “for countless hours” to get “the item they need to finally be able to perform in +5 keys because their class is tuned around having it”, and then just “take it away again” when the next season starts… I don´t necessarily want the pre-MoP design back, where you would get a lego in tier 2 and be set for the rest of the expansion, but for it to be almost instantly replaced by the first epic drop of the next season is IMO too far in the other direction to be viable in an MMORPG. And yes, I´m aware of the upgrade system we got in DF S4… But now please consider WHY that was necessary to have in the first place, as that brinbgs us right back to the beginning of this paragraph.

PS: if i did hit a nerve on somebody, well maybe that´s actually a good thing… consider reflecting on your motivations for playing the game, becasue “i play for epic loot” just for the pure sake of getting Epic loot that has no use outside the game, is at best bassackwards reasoning. Not saying you “shouldn´t play”, that´s your choice… but would you still be playing at all if there were no epics /myth track gear? If not, you may already be firmly on a path that can never realistically lead to anything but disappointment on the long run  :beers:

Try something else ingame, this game got other stuff then dungeons and raids.

Says the classic mage alt who’s life is about spamming 3-4 skills. Ironic.

Ofc it should. Respect player time. They can add rare stuff for cosmetics, not gear. People have lifrs.

Hi,

I have a life.

That means that (unfortunately), I am unable to play WoW all the time.

In fact, my life is so active and fulfilling, that I might only have 1 or 2 months per season to play.

So a 6 month season allows me to continue to live my life to the full, and not miss out on any wow, as I can play when I have time.

I guess the Seasonal schedule is designed around people who have lives to live.

I disagree longer seasons is what i prefer not everyone rushes through content in like a month people like to do things on alts etc that is a terrible idea.

What i would like to see would be for dungeon pools to be made bigger for mythic + seasons and the return of one boss raids that can add as a filler between seasons

Would a 1 boss raid be to much of an ask for a inbetween patch i think not .

that’d put it in too short for me to care about progression level and put me in a looking out for a different game to waste my time on level
ideally I’d prefer if they removed seasons as it reduces the amount of stuff to do in the game, you are no longer progressing through all raids, you are only progressing through the current one.
Cursed design, has been since its introduction if you ask me.

wanna know the crazy thing? casuals like to do stuff near the end of events/seasons. 3 months is a panic mode for them.

Games a bug filled mess now what do you think it would be with shorter seasons,
/shudder

Well the bugs relate mostly to the content. A Season is an arbitrary construct that Blizzard have simply tied to the content tiers, but there’s no law that says it has to be that way.

You could easily choose to have 2 Seasons within a single content tier, if you wanted to.
In such a format a Season could revolve around a theme for the content, with the theme changing for the next Season. That’s how it usually is in other Season games that aren’t content-driven.

The bugs in the game are there because Blizzard’s developers don’t have time to address them. It’s as simple as that. That has less to do with Seasons per se, and more to do with Blizzard’s aggressive content cadence for WoW. When you increase the quantity of content, the quality suffers, evidently.

The Run time of a Season has little to do with the Amount of bugs, the issue with the bugs more or less comes from the fact that Blizzard is now putting out new Content left and right with each Patch.

That new Content then has to be Monitored along side all the other Content in the game, then they have to find the bug, recreate it and then find a solution and sometimes that solution just breaks something else entirely which is a endless cycle.

It’s an issue of our today’s ephemeral consumer society. Most people don’t have patience to engage with the same stuff for a longer time anymore.
