WoW would benefit greatly from switching to mostly horizontal design instead of doing vertical hamster-wheel rat race every expansion
While i agree with the udea, i donât agree that GW2 maos are populated at all. Usually everyone is only on the latest one.
Many maps are completely abandoned and given the game is kind of design for several players, itâs a real pain to travel about alone.
Thatâs not the issue of map design but the issue of old maps being ignored as the base for new content.
MMO game designers are hard stuck on the idea that new content needs to be placed in a brand new zone and the idea of reuse of maps is some horrible alien idea which no one should try.
I think that blizzard is trying to fix their LORE âŚbecause TBC lore with ilidan was HORRIBLE they are trying to give lore a UNIVERSAL feeling something like marvel did over 12 years
They are trying to setup a next stage of WOrld of warcraft becuase if you are a player you can tell that there are not lot of places to put on mop in azeroth so we are going SPACE WAR now with all the cosmic forces
I was playin woman and i was in some town i dont remember exactly but i can tell that i liked how I was shooting fire gameplay of that class was fun almost similar to wowâŚbut as i said the ANIME graphics or i donât now how it is called killed the game for me i like ANIME but dislike that style in games its like new world or ashes of creation the gameplay looks fun but the graphic is too REALISTIC in those games
but thats not why i joined WoW, and while i do feel im in the minority more and more in WoW discussions, i dont think i would be here. WoW is meant to be dragons, elves, dungeons and wizzards. if i wanted space war, i would look for a Warhammer 40k style.
the sex of the character doesnât change its ability ;p
this is the answer to your own question i think. i dont play/watch any âanimeâ stuff, but in my mind but it is a unique style, like how i presume FF is. GW2 and other games are heading towards realism. and this is a totally different direction to WoW.
putting aside creatures, just the environment, you can see that the art style for WoW is almost like a painting rather than a photo. games like GW2 are trying to aim more for photo/realism.
its an artstyle i spose. elements of WoW environment are great, maybe the stronger aspect of the game, but seeing a field or volcano in GW2 is really wow!!
Erm, I actually love my job. It is incredibly fun. I actually started going back to the office because I want to. Nobody even asked me to come back. I just love my job.
Since when is farming gold to bypass itemshops fun? The moment something has an asking price, the sane thing to do is evaluate the value of time vs money. If something costs $2 and it takes me 2 hours to farm it it makes much more sense to spend the $2 and spend the 2 hours actually playing the thing I wanted to play anyway, donât you think? If I farm it, that puts the value of my time at $1/hour. This is pathetic. Saying âyou can farm itâ is like saying âYou can play the game suboptimally, when the optimal way is to spend moneyâ. What type of a defense is that?
And then I spend the gold on unlocking quests when I could be spending it on something else instead.
My point is this - we hate Blizz, because its Blizz. Other companies can get away with milking you, because theyâre not Blizz and we donât hate them. Itâs not about the practice - a gamer will excuse any business practice as long as itâs in a game they enjoy. GW2 might be a great MMO. Itâs monetization stinks so hard that it pushed me away from the game. There is no defense for it other than âI like the gameâ. Well, good for you. The monetization still stinks.
Everybody who thinks GW2âs monetization is good has made their opinions on gaming monetization objectively invalid.
you are lucky then. many people are in jobs they dont like or just tolerate just because they need a financial income. but while i understand what slap is trying to relate it to, it gets off topic a bit as peoples circumstances are different, as you have proven.
there is a massive difference between WoW and GW2 though, WoW is a monthly sub. GW2 is free. as such, it needs some form of monetization to survive as a game with updating content, rather than a stand alone game with no updates.
but again, i think you are focusing too much on the shop here. but maybe thats because it seems so unobtainable that i dont bother thinking about it. if there was a transmog skin, and a mount skin i wanted, i would buy those and be done with the shop.
however in WoW, there should be NO shop what so ever. the mounts/pets should not be there, and the services should also not be there. faction/server inbalance is because of blizzard and we should not be charged a fix. and the other options are far too expensive for what is essentially a click of a button.
just look at sex change. people being paying for that for years, yet now its free. this shows it was never hard to do and was just a cash grab.
Fractals are not timed, thereâs no key, and thereâs no gear carrot. Besides maybe using better Agony resistance, but you can literally buy it at the AH.
Fractals are just about pushing next levels and thereâs like⌠100 of them ?
Sure at its core you could say itâs loosely based on that, but honestly itâs way closer to the greater rifts⌠because they used D3 designers
WoW should steal more stuff from GW2
I watchâd your play from end to end
And liked the half you pilferâd best.
But sure the work you still may mend,
Take courage, man, and steal the rest!
