Wow streamers

Why are you projecting so hard?

I’d rather kick the ball myself tbh. Its great exercise.

I have never had a problem with streamers.

What I do have a problem with is people who watch the streamers then seem to think they have the right to splurge their favourite streamers opinion on anything and everything they possibly can and anyone who disagrees with said streamer is somehow a “noob” or “an idiot”

why do you constantly go out of your way pretending to be something youre not?

I can easily play like streamer, i can’t play with ball like Messi. Watching those streamers and “content creators” is just waste of time in my book.

I still do that every now and, again, not very often now because I left the guild and have no idea if they’re still playing. I remember one guy roughly my age who i used to spend my “all nighters” with when I still lived in Scotland. Talk eventually (as it often does) got around to other things and next thing I know I’m making videos like this for him. He loved them, said it took him right back to the good ol’ days and how he was glad he never “wasted my 20p on you”.

for context, I am using a MAME emulator on a pc which explains sudden lag spikes. Default difficulty, only dip switch i used is the credit counter

What am I pretending to be? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Then go do it.
It’s such easy money, and you claim to be able to do the exact same thing.

Well i dont really watch streamers, I usually just watch podcasts like Allcraft or Preach’s Drama Time on streams also i might ocasionally catch one of Asmongolds mog/mount competitions , and speaking of Asmongold i would also watch some of his react videos but thats on Youtube. So bassicly im not interested in the gameplay streams excluding the WF race and even then i dont watch the whole thing. Also when i do watch streams/youtube i am also playing the game farming something.

Watching mythic raiders is fun for me because i will never do that in game so that’s the only place for me to see progression, mechanics, etc. I also like to watch good players, see how they play and learn from them.

Or i just watch Sloot getting drunk with other streamers and talk about the most ridiculous things in the world while doing Thorgast.

For same reason people watch other people run after a ball in a field or skate after a puck or watch cars go fast around the circle.

People like what they like.

It’s 2020 most people have 2 monitors , watch a stream whilst you herb/ore farm simple as that. Watching my Char pick an ore node after 15 years ain’t that interesting to watch.

i have never been a fan of people just randomly throwing endless streams of money at these streamers, but i know that i have been watching people like sodapoppon for years, its just being a part of a community and getting to know other people in chat for example, people that have good character or at least seem to, and have a good sense of humor that matches up to you.

when you have fanbases the size of theirs its very difficult to get to know people on a name to name basis i guess, but when people have much smaller communities that is something that helps alot, you get to actually sit in chat and have conversations with these people and they actually recognise you by name and sometimes even go as far as remembering specific information about certain people from previous conversations.

take streamers like preach and kalamzi, people i have been watching for a while and mostly because of twitch prime and getting sub for free i have subbed to people before, when i go into kalamazis stream and say hi i get a shout out and he remembers me being there from previous times, if we played on the same server there would have been plenty of opportunities for us to play together, as he runs dungeons with viewers and such.

preach has run his own convention for a few years now he has personal friendships with a lot of people in his chat and knows them all well, asks about their kids and stuff like that. as i said its a lot more difficult for bigger streams because there are thousands of people, but if you have had the same people around for years you get to actually know them more.

but people that are essentially professionals from within different aspects of life get paid a lot of money for doing things, people that are very good in different fields like real estate are able to make a lot of money because of how good they are at selling stuff, why shouldn’t someone who is very good at a sport like basketball or football/soccer be payed a lot of money for being able to bring in fan bases to the business that is the team and get them to spend a lot of money at the stadiums, when it comes to that specific situation its just a return on investment, its just how the world works unfortunately.

I “watch” streams sometimes when I wouldn’t be playing anyway (busy with something or whatever). They’re basically just background noise where I don’t have to worry about clicking that button to tell Netflix “I’m still here” in between vacuuming or reading a book or something. WoW streams are usually not all that engaging either, which means I won’t accidentally become interested and stop focusing on my actual task. The lingo is just familiar enough as well that my brain doesn’t need to do any work to listen to them.
Kind of like putting endless re-runs of Friends on tv while you write an essay.

The one time I watch a streamer to actually watch them is if it’s a game I don’t play myself, or that person’s particularly skilled at it (never WoW though). It’s like my tv time but on the computer. Has to be a really good streamer nowadays though, hard to trust any of them anymore. Don’t wanna unknowingly give any watchtime to anyone sketchy.

Asmon had 50k viewers on Sunday for EU transmog day … it went on for hours, had him on in background noise while play. Then popped over to Swifty & someone donated subs for all, but wrong time zone for me. Those Americans have way too much money to donate to streamers …

I have watched a few vids in which he held a few transmog competitions
And at first i thought he was actually a nice guy. A decent human being.
But when he does’nt like a certain set that was put together by someone
He has the tendency to criticize it in an un-constructive way

I honestly think that every World of Warcraft player out there should create a look that they like themself, not what someone else likes. It’s THEIR character so it’s THEIR decission. I mean, it’s nice if it gets liked by 1 or more other players, sure but he’s just straight up criticizing their decissions, their picks in negative way

His laugh is contagious, I love it ~

I’ve stopped watching any Streamers because they irritate me.

Clickbait titles, they spend 15 minutes shouting out a load of unrelated nonsense before spending a few seconds on the actual subject.

All of them are attention seeking drama queens IMO.

Why do you watch world cup football games? Or a pool game or other types of sports on TV? Isn’t it better to do it yourself? Just grab a ball and play football. Or do some pool, etc.

You watch it because it’s entertaining. Depending on the streamer, the entertainment factor can come from the gameplay, the high level difficulty of the content or simply because the individual is entertaining and funny.

I don’t waste a minute on streamers. I tried just never liked it and never understood the point.
