WOW token is getting nerfed

Well, I also have a recurring sub but since wow token came out I always bought game time with token i grinded for ingame. Our exchange rate is disgusting to being able to pay for the game time and expansions with grinding ingame helped with this. This morning I saw the info and immediately went to check for the shortest game time available for real money. The option was not available on my account only adding to bnet balance. I thought oh well, I add balance via my card and then I should be able to buy game time. Sure enough once there was enough balance on it, I could buy 60 days game time with bnet balance. Now the only problem is that despite me buying that balance with real money transaction I still had to buy the actual game time with bnet balance. Am I ducked now? I made a ticket to explain and ask for confirmation but seems they are stressed out with tickets atm. So much for a nice relaxed weekend.

if i can not buy tokens anymore I do not see any light at the end of the tunnel because this expense today is the only one I can make for a game, real life is a lady dog especially where we live

Some people here would have you believe it costs their life savings to play WoW.

I guess you live a comfy life with not a lot of responsibilities and in a safe country with stable conditions  Some of us, I met quite a few of those over the more than a decade i play this game, see it as a relaxing and nurturing time away from real life. Do not judge so fast my friend, not everyone was born with a silver spoon or with high income or parents who pay for every whim of the child

Er, I’ve been working for my own money since I was 14 three decades ago.

You seem pretty judgey there too.

Was not specific to someone, was merely a fact that everyone here is in different circumstances but tries to make it possible to play  Some have it easier, some harder but no two are the same.

I actually think it will in a way. But not efficiently because bot accounts need to have the 30 days first run out from the paid gametime/sub before their gold can be used to buy WoW tokens. And since the limitation is only before 2017 makes it a one-time restriction. In my opinion the restriction should refresh every 3 Months. Basically I mean:

Paid Game time → Token → Token → Token → Gametime → Rinse and repeat.

I spoke with GM about it.

In that case you need to buy 60 days game time (it will add instant to ur game time) or buy epic version expansion (only epic works, it has 30 day time inside). You must pay it via paypal or visa.

But is it eu too? It says "in this region ". And it goes live 21 november and that is for us realm?

Everything will become clear when they implement it. I have a similar situation. In 2017, I bought an Overwatch for real cash. But I doubt they’ll pass it. I also loaded the subscription using 60-day prepaid cards.

As for many confusions Dreadwake and other 6 Month Mounts where only buyable by starting an Abo via Paypal or Credit Card. So it whas impossible for you to do the reward progam without real money so yeah should be eligable.

The change is that players from poor countries which such a low hourly wage that you could actually get more money buy playing WoW then working now have at least for buying one month of WoW with worked money instead of WoW gold so they could go on buying time with WoW gold.
Also new accounts need so to go back paying one month of WoW time first which need PayPal or Credit Card or 60 Days with Battle net Balance before they could go on and do the AH game for financing their subscription.

interest to see result, but i doubt much change

I have a better one:

You can no longer buy WoW tokens. For any reason. At all. Ever.

This is a good argument except for one simple detail: Blizzard makes more money from players who pay with gold than those who pay directly. From players who pay with money they earn 13 Euros per month (or even less if the player is a bulk subscription), while players who pay with gold don’t expend money directly, but Blizzard earns 20 Euros every month thanks to them.

In fact, Blizzard will lose profits with this move because. Maybe not much, but they will loose some. Some token 20 Euros profit will be changed into a 13 Euros subscription for one or two months.

WOW token is one of the few gaming monetization systems in which players who do not pay are more profitable than paying players.

Why the heck not?

If you won’t take it from me, take it from Blizzard.

PS: All the things warned about in that article is also still happening because of the WoW token. It changed nothing.

But this article is about gold sellers.

It’s about why you shouldn’t buy gold.

These kinds of companies and people are abusing the WoW token as well.

Blizzard’s current friggin’ CEO got caught up in real money trading for boosts. Like idk what happened to this company but I’ll bring it up every single time until they stop.

If you’ve got some time on your hands, listen to this:

Ostensibly it’s about boosts, but it talks a lot about gold buying and GDKP as well.

You’re right. There was no botting or boosting before the WoW token was introduced.

It didn’t change anything at all. Only the banhammer will fix it. But of course, in order for the banhammer to make sense, they have to stop selling it themselves first.

And what stopped the hacking was the darn near mandatory authenticator.
