Only the goldbuyers will disagree
so you disagree?
soooo, if gold sellers match blizzard token price, or even go lower, what then?
If you find it hard to choose between something not allowed or something that is allowed. I have some bad news for you bro.
retail has tokens and that did not kill bots or gold sellers.
Edit: in-fact tokens will increase bots lol…cus atm in classic bot’s users can only sell gold to players, but if tokens get here? bots will have the ability to buy tokens with gold and transfer that into balance to buy other things from shop and sell keys.
I like how you label me as a gold buyer and immoral as a part of your non argument.
When they added token to Asian Classic realms (China?) then the realm money value of in game gold went down there so all farmers and botters that could moved to EU and NA where it was more profitable to bot and RMT.
The question is will WoW token lower the real money value of in-game gold low enough for it to work? Gold isn’t generated with a token so players would have to kickstart it which may or may not happen quickly enough.
Same with 58 boost - RMT boosters can’t realistically charge more than the Blizzard price or they have to offer more value for the price
That’s usually what goldmakers do (pay all subs with gold, get absurd amount of HS packs, buy black auction house boxes and so on). Pure bots and sellers want better/direct monetization.
I think that had to do more with how much chinese valued their time and not just the fact that everyone could sell their gold legitimately now. EU players are different beasts. Time has a bigger factor over money here.
Both kill the economy… They could put in effort to stop bots and won’t need token.
captcha on login anyone?
Sounds great, doesnt work. Many top guild buy/bought gold from outside sellers. For example, Scripe from Method even admitted that they bought it from 3rd party sellers.
People will bot to buy tokens to extend their game time.
Or how about invest in the game and acttively police the ToS.
We don’t need tokens, we finally need the services we pay for by paying a sub to a game that literally takes 0development time.
A sub is paid for a game that actively is being worked on to provide content.
Stop standing up for a company that is openly milking people.
Since they added the boost to TBC, I think a token isn’t too outrageous at this point.
You mean the gold sellers, right? Why would gold buyers disagree when they are the ones buying the gold?
Anyone who enjoy farming gold and mats in the game would disagree. It totally ruins the sense of accomplishment in the game when you know you can just buy it…
I would quit and not look back if they implement a wow token.
I can tolerate a lot, but not that.
Also, why do you think there would be less bots? The bots are running rampart in retail also you know.
I say keep the WoW token away until at least Wotlk.
Tbh WoW token did smash gold selling in retail. Very few people risk their accounts now to buy gold illegally when they can literally swipe the card and buy it from Blizzard themselves.
The issues on retail are not particularly related to WoW token although it has its contribution.
The problem in retail is the game design. So many collectibles and achievements are time limited. PvP boosting is flourishing due to gearing design and the curve is a must in pugs. BoEs and legendaries are powerful but expensive so lots of people buy tokens to acquire them.
All these things together shifted the community towards buying gold.
In TBC I find it that the start is hard but later on gold becomes fairly irrelevant, unless you’re into alts.
Once you got your epic flying and crafted your profession gear, you’re pretty much set until SWP crafting becomes once again mandatory for raiders.
Consumables are relatively easy to farm and you don’t need that many anyway. All in all, gold is not that big of a deal imo.
To play devil’s advocate a gold token might not be that bad.
We have to remember that TBC is dramatically different from Classic and Retail, there’s far less things to spend gold on and farming gold and mats is considerably easier than in Classic.
Outside of flying and maybe a few pieces of profession gear there really isn’t that great a need for gold, so a token would (theoretically) solve the gold seller issue, as Ceressà said when the token was added to Retail gold sellers took a massive hit since Blizzard provided an easier, safer and legal alternative.
Of course it would cause massive gold inflation, but then again it’s just a theory.
Come on, OP can’t be serious. Retail has token and is infested with bots.
End of the story.
This panda guy gets it!
Lets kill these botters. Erase them from the universe on all fronts.
Too many goldbuyers in this thread, they’ve infiltrated all cracks in the foundation.
Their morals, gone.
Cos the wow token in retail sure helped kill botting!
