WoW Total Active Subscribers = 3 Million-ish

Can they discern how fabulous i look though?

@Bunz: Only to the following limited extent…

Seriously, who cares? If you don’t like the game, then leave. Stop fearmongering. Not everyone uses subscription either, there are 30 day game time options without subscription and the token. So just stop.

Um a 30 day game time option = 30 day subscription.
Doesn’t matter whether it was paid for with cash/gold/game cards/tokens or even milk bottle tops or if the time was ‘gifted’ to you. It doesn’t matter if you have 1 days game time, 30 days game time or 1 years game time.
All of this makes your account ‘active’ and counts you as an active subscriber regardless of whether or not you do actually log in or nor.

They can’t use anything but rolling subs to count as subscriptions because it would change too much monthly.

I can’t see anything impressive in it. Every change they have done since it’s peak has made it worse and worse. Only pet battles were actually a good thing to add. Beside that there is not a single thing that is better now than in wotlk. Development should go forward and make things better, but I really think they should go backwards with WoW.

well considering almost all other MMOS never come up whit new ideas, and pretty much stay the same through all expansions, I think Wow has done a great job on not doing so, they have given us other things to do, has it always been good offcourse not, but atleast they have tried, way more than other companies have done, where you get a new expac, whit new bosses and mobs, but almost nothing realy new to do, par from same old quests whit a new text, wow is the same, but they do atleast try to give us other stuff to do also.

The price of getting new stuff is losing the old stuff. Replacing working stuff with poop is not innovative, it’s stupid.

as I said it has not always been good. But as I said they atleast do something, instead of slapping a new title whit new mobs and bosses, but nothing else that is new

It has never been good…

that is your oppinion not mine, there is lots of things that is way better now than it was back in vanilla, tbc and even wrath, way more stuff than many even realices.

Yeah there’s a lot more to ignore because it’s made to be bad.
Islands → ignore.
Warfronts → ignore.
LFR → ignore.
Not emissary wq’s → ignore.
Farming Azerite → ignore.
BG’s are useless → ignore.
Arena is awful → ignore.
Professions are useless → ignore.
normal and heroic dungeons are useless → ignore.
mythic raid gear will be useless in next patch → ignore.

as I said that is your oppinion for me it is more like.

Island fun
Warfronts ok
LFR maby sometimes, no need for me
emmisary quests, I do them when I feel like, quite fine.
Farming Azerite, I do it when I want to, pretty ok not the best.
BG again I do them if I feel like it, not the best but not to bad.
Proffesions, not totaly usless, maby lil boring.
Dungeons, they are fine some are realy good to be honest.
Raid gear, hmm what is new here, has always been like this, Fine for me, would be boring to have same gear a hole expansion.

Well it doesn’t seem too great for you either.

Raid gear has not been like it is now. I think it was the TotC patch that was the first tier that made the earlier tier completely useless. Also war- and titanforging was not in the game when it was good.

The thing is that the gear is nothing special it is literally just 1 number called ilevel.

I did say, that not everything was good.

personaly I like it when I can change my gear now and then, and the only gear that realy is usless now in next tier is raid gear, most dungeon gear can be good if you do M+ anyways, and as far as I recall most raid gear has always worked like that, new raid better gear, sooner or later you did change all your gear no matter what, heck even in vanilla it happend already.
and for me it doesnt matter what color the gear is, at all, most of the time I transmog it anyways, to not look like everyone else.

but as I said we have different oppinions on what is good and what is bad, and that is good, would be boring if we all think the same.

Yes all of the gear was changed yes, but the old gear wasn’t made totally useless and seem like trash like now.

I have a hate/love relationship with transmogging, I think it is needed cause the gear in this expansions looks horrible. But it is also bad cause I can’t just look at somebody and tell what gear they have on (it wouldn’t matter anyway cause every item piece has random stats anyway). This is mostly visible in arenas, I can only look at their health to tell if they have good gear or bad gear now.

Well still the games state seems bad when in my opinion it is complete trash and in your opinion it’s kinda ok maybe.

This seems like a good site, but they might be missing characters and it is hard to say how much they are missing. They went live two years ago or so and their coverage improved significantly since that time, and it improved to the point where they started posting region totals. However, we should wait for some time - for like 6 months or so - to see whether the reported numbers will grow some more as they extend their captures or stay the same despite those extensions.

Still, even if the data above might not be useful to determine the number of subs directly, it is eminently useful to tell whether the population is declining or growing. It would be very good if they published a graph after a year or so.

Okay, that’s fair but what does it have to do with the price of tea in China?

What is the point you’re trying to make?

That the number of subs is low.

(I think the number of subs is higher than 3 mil, although not by much, but you asked what the point of posting the number was and that point seems pretty clear to me.)

And I’m waiting 40 min for a dungeon.
