WoW will be dead in 2021. Why?

Just market it properly. Instead of cute little animal make it scourged themed and you have to catch all of the plagues! Its hip and cool and totally with the current times. The youngsters will love it

Blizzard “OK what WoW needs… is a mobile spin off.”

Titans. “Not on our watch! Azeroth burns now!”

I suddenly felt a great disturbance in the Light, as if millions of players all cried out in terror…

If call of duty mobile has not killed call of duty retail pc then wow mobile will not kill wow retail pc either .
It is like saying Toyota Corolla will kill Bmw .

Yep that is thanks to covid pandemic .people had to spend their time somewhere and also shadowland launch also played its part .

You and Dottie probably have a point. My point however is that mobile gaming has gone a long way. Games now are made so that you can play them hardcore without spending money, and only those who play 8+ hours a day would have to spend anything. Games are made to dominate your time while being fun. The field is SO COMPETITIVE that a cheap, boring money maker simply doesn’t stand a chance. Remember The Elder Scrolls mobile game? Yeah, me neither. It was garbage. This is also why Diablo Immortal is looking good - it has to be just to stand a chance in this market. Mobile gaming is not hardcore, it cannot be, but it can be fun, and that’s all that matters.

To me, mobile is not doom and gloom. It is a sensible strategy for market expansion… and if the games are good, I’m gonna play them.

This idea that mobile gaming is all garbage is as an uneducated opinion as the older generation who believes gaming is demonic. Fact is, we’re all growing up, and here’s the new thing and we all hate it, because it’s new.

So… WoW, an MMO will die, because a mobile game for the Warcraft FRANCHISE will come out. Dude… That mobile game can be ANYTHING! A Warcraft-skinned Candy Crush clone, an endless runner where Maiev hopelessly chases Illidan, some puzzle game, a dating Sim, heck, a Warcraft tamagochi where I can raise my own murloc. It doesn’t have to be anything WoW or even WC3-like and it still would be a Warcraft-franchise game.

PS.: I’m interested in that endless runner, make it happen Blizzard!

Edit: Forgot my favourite idea, a rythm game where you could tap to some catchy songs sung by the Characters’ voice actors. Duuuude, imagine Jaina singing in a JPOP idol costume…

Nah I ain’t playing on my phone. Someone calls and interrupts my gaming and then I’m surrounded by 20 mobs

everything dies … in fact op your closer to death now then you was 5 minutes ago …

Wow can’t die in 2021 since it already died when TBC launched !

tbc was already dead on arrival … terrible expansion

Dont worry wow could die even before the first mobile wow game. Just look at SL and how good they handle the problems.

no it wont.

You know, corolla is way better car than any bmw… Kinda odd comparison.

i dont have a car but i have a Kawasaki H2R .

I honestly doubt that. I’ve seen the New World’s features and gameplay, and they’re as shallow as it gets. That game needs a lot of changes and polishing before launch just to be able to even get off the ground. It’s a shame really, as the concept of the game is somewhat promising.

The only upcoming MMO that has a chance to be the next big and revolutionary addition to the genre is the Ashes of Creation, and that’s only if the developers can live up to all the promises they’ve made to the fans and release the game with all the advertized features.
