So wowhead is sanatising posts again. This time it was because of their taliesin post. Lots of people on their saying they dont like his content so dont want to see him, dont like his takes etc.
Then all of a sudden all of the posts are removed. There are literally 5 on there now. I got a warning too lol.
This isnt a thread about the creator (not my cup of tea) but rather wowhead consistently being weird about people voicing an opnion they dont like on their sight. Its a disgrace.
Really REALLY wish there was a bettter alternative to it.
I really feel this is relevant to wow as so many people really on wowhead for the game but they are trash.
I’m not sure why anyone would go to WowHead of all places to express such opinion.
You go to the official forums,reddit or 4chan if you want to discuss this stuff.

I get that. Its just annoying wowhead is the only game in town really when it comes to news and the fact they have the gall to decide that if something doesnt fit their narrative they take it off. Its like all the diablo immortal threads being locked becuase people dont like the game and say so.
I imagine money crosses someones palm for the creator to be on the front page. It seems wrong that when people say they dont like them they decide to remove the posts? That part of his contract perhaps?
Its just a bit rubbish that we cant even give feedback to things we dont like to a site we use on a daily basis because they would rather get paid than provide a decent evolving service
There would be another site. For example we used to have Thotboth or something like that in the past. Then wowhead and thotboth merged. Not all wowhead content creators are trash btw, there are a few good guys amongst them but also many lunatics.
My point is that its got the monopoly meaning you have no choice. If you have no choice you cant make a comparison, if you cant make a comparison you cant find somewhere else to go, if you cant find somewhere else to go, they dont have to change to the demands of the user, if they dont have to change they will do what they want, even to the detriment of the user.
Which is what wowhead does on the daily. As long as you arent being super vulgar or threatning you should be allowed to voice your dislike. The fact they censor and sanatise is messed up and in this case I personally believe its because of money which is double messed up.
Sure I agree with this point. I just protest to the title of your topic because I find it unfair as a whole, considering that wowhead as a tool is very valuable.
wowdb dot com + icy veins are the alternatives, but ofc they hardly compete with such a giant like wowhead.
I think wowhead in itself would be a wonderful thing, but recently(last 4 years) they have kinda changed. You pretty much already told it. I noticed it too and its rather sad.
With every passing year its less and less about wow and more and more about promoting certain ideas and exterminating anything that might just disagree with it… let alone openly criticizing anything they promote.
Once I was reading one of these controversial wowhead posts and yes, there were ppl who deserved to be censored, but tbh the mod was no better.
The passive-agressive and outright toxic behavior they sometimes show towards the commenters and even the general readers too is pretty disgusting from someone who’s task would be the prevent it in the first case imo. (especially when that someone is practically paid from our clicks technically…)
