The only way to truly celebrate this occasion is by simply going back,
A vanilla > TBC > wrath progression server,
Every single player in history has fond memories of atleast 1 of these expansions, if not all 3,
In 2019 wow classic put Azeroth back on the map in the gaming world,

I understand that youre a ERA fan from your past posts, which is great,
If my suggestion did happen, you could play a legit fresh vanilla ( your favourite i assume ), then transfer your characters to ERA before the TBC release, then whoever enjoys tbc and wrath can continue,
Doing a fresh progression servers allows players to play their favourite version, from the beginning.
Not the right time
Cata is still fresh
SoD Phase 4 is about to start
Then War Within releases
Next year
After SoD finishes
Cata is waiting for the Pandas
War Within is in content draught

Imagine celebrating 20 years with release of fresh. That would literally be confession from devs that they can’t beat 20 year old game and give us better content. No way the would do that. I except they would just add smth in retail so people at least log in to it and devs can say to themselves checking log in statistics that they aren’t pathetic failure
that’s a fact lol, and not only for Blizzard themsevles, it’s still the most genius MMORPG formula in the entire game industry
many people followed till Wotlk and then returned to the Era hype, maybe the same gonna happen with Cata

Probably But I played many mmo which were considered good at start and eventually devs messed up. Most iconic example is Blade and Souls which was focused on arena pvp even with official tournaments 1vs1; 3vs3, it was even considered e-sport. When devs messed up class balance eventually and destroyed pvp by letting people one shot each other devs said that they never intended game to be focused on competitive pvp

lot of disappointement, so WoW Era is a sure value at this point, but there are hypes in too different versions of the game maybe…
a TBC fresh hype could be a thing (too many versions so why not this one too

Which they can´t. They gave us classic because there was so much demand. They´d be bleedin subs for years if not for classic.
Why do I know this? Because i would not have been supped again since 2019 and Im sure there are lots like me.

They didn’t give classic when there was demand, they said “you think you want but you actually don’t”.
They gave it only because they counted how much money they lost to private servers because of their stubbornness and pride
SoD is going to fail, the stats are right there for all to see, Cata’s numbers will drop after the phase 1 hype ends, where else is the classic community going to play their favourite versions? Pservers…?
blizzard is a company, they know how much money generation is being lost from Sod, and going to be lost from cata,
20 years of WOW is a huge milestone, it should be celebrated with a huge release, and 100% if they did release a new fresh server, a legit server, it would bring back huge amounts of players,
many are already done with SOD, many are already done with cata, many wont go back to retail,
we need a new home.
