How about we turn this into a positive action and put a stop to it?
There are players on this server (incl. the super-insane scarletposter on the RL thread) to avoid, but the rest is a web of he-did-this, and he-did-that with never a true end to it.
I do my very best. Sometimes people do things when they’re cringe teenagers, during an off-day or an off-week, or circumstances just drive people into a pinch. I don’t hold grudges on behalf of others and putting excessive stock in one-off rumors (or even worse, perpetuating them) would be just as toxic as whatever dragon I’m trying to slay with the other posts I’ve made in this thread.
Accountability and positivity are the only ways to foster a good community, in my eyes. And that’s why I think the makers of this guild/thread are cringe and not fit for it - They’re hardly even a part of it given the RP they exclusively take part in.
That is true to an extent, but you choose yourself how you conduct yourself ultimately and what kind of example you set. Not your associates or anybody else. When it comes down to the line, it’s you who make the decision to associate or not associate with someone.
Take me for an example. Even though I’ve not been part of PCU for close to 2 years now (?), I still hold contact, interact and even RP with some of it’s former members. I still disagree with many of them about the way things went, but I hold no ill-will toward any of them and wish them all the best.
Hell, some of the people I disagree with most over the forums (e.g. Shogganosh) I have had some of the best RP with as of late.
If you start to write down every grudge you’ve ever been slighted with, that is the only thing that will dominate your interactions in this game, which kills off the RP that originally brought you to this game. The community’s much smaller than it was 4-5 years ago, especially so in the Horde, and if we want to help the community knit itself back together again, we have to be able to forgive.
I understand where your jaded perspective comes from, but it’s a toxic place to dwell in. Certainly more for yourself than anybody else. Try forgiveness, and try a fresh start.
Change starts with yourself. Not with a guild leader, the rest of the guild, but yourself.
Anyway, in what will likely be my last post for a while: to return to the guild at hand and Lilynore’s misdeeds, here’s a couple of discord logs from Goldshire Lux at their height in 2020.
The first one I’d like to draw your attention to the literal child talking about their school teachers.
The other two are what became Lilynore’s short-lived website.
On the fact of it I agree with everything you say. In word and in spirit. I do my best to keep an open mind and an open heart where it is reasonable.
But, none of us can erase the past, and I am afraid to admit that I am once bitten and twice shy, and I have not had the same kindness and courtesy from inside the group formerly known as the PCU that other ex-members who left on good terms have experienced.
I think some of the dissonance when recounting these stories and sharing them between ourselves is that it feels wrong and duplicitous how disparate our experiences are, simply due to where our paths started out.
Without all the flowery language I know I come across as “Lmao I’ll forgive them when they treat me reeeeaaal nice and butter me up first >:3” but I really do mean that if they want to branch out and contact the wider community, they have to make up for the mistakes of the past, or at least acknowledge that they happened.
I know I’ve reconnected to my fair share of acquaintances and friends after I’ve matured and our life circumstances have changed.
Since I’m rambling might as well throw a quote in there uuuuuh I think Green Jesus once said “time alone heals nothing” and then big nose anduin got real sad
Honestly it’s a shame this thread is probably gonna be locked and deleted because of who made it, how it opened, etc etc.
This feels like one of the more sincere convos the forums have seen on this particular topic.
I’m under no false assumptions of fame. I post on this dumb gnome specifically to remain as much a nobody as possible. I just wanted to make clear that I know I can come across as quite entitled and demanding.
CoAD only posts useless and baseless bragging about “having screenshots” and never releasing them. Frankly, the best PR the group formerly known as the PCU has had in years has been the crazed ramblings of that alleged “group” of grass allergists.
