I don’t think 20% is a huge loss, my guess is that the trade off is getting an instant queue and team mates that won’t kick you.
If a solo player is in there 20%+ longer with a 20% loss in XP.
Then it starts to sound like it’s hardly worth it.
Starting to remind me of that infinite library thing in ESO.
At times i feel like when blizzard does something good, they need to put crusty toenails with it. It’s like some developers need to tell their superiors that they have done something, this sort of thing is just so that they don’t get fired.
Can’t say I’ve tried running one yet so I can’t comment on the pace. I’m sure Blizzard will have some numbers to review once this has been in place for a while and can judge how effective the mode is and it’s take up.
I’d say Blizzard wants people to play with real people so the follower dungeons are the way they are.
Since this thread is about XP that can only to pertain to the normal dungeons. No, loot does not dictate where the people will be when it comes to normal dungeons.
So are you saying there is no loot just XP?
If so I don’t see why anyone would want to do them.
Plenty of other places to get XP.
There has to be a reason for doing them, loot, faction rep, fun, help a friend (wouldn’t be solo). If none of what I’ve just listed here applies, then what’s the point.
Loot matters, how many times do players run dungeons that they’re bored with to get gear, pets or mounts. There’s a few old dungeons I’d never go back to if I didn’t still require something from them.
When rep. is finally account bound, what do you think the dungeon queues will be like then?
Once you have what you want from a dungeon there’s really very little reason to go back there.
Because 1 step forward 3 steps back is Blizzard bread and butter.
(+) people will just bot it if follower dungeons become efficiant
Ok, make that like 10-15 steps back then, not just 3 lol.
Blizzard are silly
No, I think he’s saying that normal dungeons have a waiting time of 5+ minutes compared to ones with companions.
So there is most likely some loot.
However, you can’t really compare the two, since the 5 person team doesn’t lose XP and if you were to compare the two it’s the 5 person team you would compare it to.
There is no genuine reason for the XP loss as far as I can see. It’s completely unnecessary the loot is where the adjustment should be, for obvious reasons.
After a discussion IRL, I believe that it is essentially a discouragement for people who would normally level via dungeons to switch to this mode as the servers would quickly overload.
Well, that could make sense.
Still, it’s like, we’re adding this feature for you to use but we’d rather you didn’t.
I do hope that isn’t the case.
I think it’s more along the lines of: we’re fine with you using it, but we encourage you to do it with real players. It’s still an MMO, and practically it means less instances, I figured there would be a penalty. To me that makes sense, I don’t see it as a way to spite us players.
I’d of course appreciate it if they reconsider the reduction and remove it. But if they keep it, I’m ok with it. Either way I’m happy with the feature!
I doubt that. I’m guessing a lot of people will be trying the follower dungeons the next few days, but with the penalty in place and no bonus xp anyone who’s perfectly alright with normal dungeons and real players will soon opt for that again I think
I think this is why Blizzard always dragged out a solo progression path.
They know how much people prefer to go at their own pace compared to M+ or Raids and a proper solo prog would kill the other modes instantly😂
Its simple, they dont want to make it too convinient otherwise people would not queue for norma dungeons with other players.
The cap argoment only counts for hardcore people since a casual will probably have the time to run 2-3 dungeons in a day.
Personally I only level with dungeons during timewalking anyway. The XP gains are massive and the dungeons are so fast. I only want to do follower dungeons with a friend so they get to experience the story and complete the dungeon quests.
Xp nerf makes zero sense, Fun detected. So your xp gets nerfed for making it harder. I mean who thinks of these things? honestly.
I’ll give it a couple of days before the follower dungeons’ hype dies out. I gave two different dungeons a try and so far the followers are pretty terrible.
