XPOff and Twink problems

Max level is a joke aswell with the massive difference between gear.

Did you enjoy getting oneshot over and over on your ret? I wouldn’t, and then it’s the only exact same feeling in lower brackets vs f2p twinks, even more so if they’re a 5 man premade.

That I agree with :100:. Some specs are worse than others, I’d really like to see some adjustments there.

This is simply not a thing today. It does not exist.

I’m maxxed and I got 30% in each stat at best, unless you focus a single stat in which case at best you get 40%.

Would be an empty argument because whatever 10-15 years was like is not relevant now. Twinks are entirely unable to do that today.

One-shots in rated arena is also not how you advertise the game and yet here we are.

If you wanna talk about how to not advertise WoW then we’ll be here for a while tbh.

You don’t need alchemy or TBC gear sockets to one-shot people. Just getting Northrend/Cata engineering for the goggles and trinket so you get a decent boost in secondary stats is enough to guarantee crits. Play the right class such as a MM hunter and you’ll be one-shotting people easily.

You can fill the other gearslots with vendor gear from MoP that has high ilvl. No actual dungeons are required whatsoever.

That’s more than enough to end up two or one-shotting most players and it takes maybe a hour or two to get, as well as maybe 5k gold.

Pmuch that.

Still works today.

Agreed, but also the damage difference between twinks and “throw-away” twinks really isn’t that big now.

At the end of the day, levelers are getting one-shot.

Why does it matter that you’re not getting one-shot by “true twinks” like me?

It doesn’t. You’re still getting one-shot all the same.

If twinking we’re popular queues would pop.

Simple fact is the vast majority of twinks want to one shot lesser geared players like they are running round on doom with all the cheats enabled.

When people fight back on an equal footing it ain’t so fun any more.

Proof? Your queues don’t pop.

That’s not how it works.

There’s thousands of twinks yet queues aren’t popping.

Wrong.

The people who just want to one-shot noobs are already one-shotting noobs as we speak.

Wrong. There’s actual twink tournaments and back when it was still a main thing people hung out in goldshire and durotar dueling eachother constantly. I have almost 13k duel wins on this character alone and about 80% of that is against other twinks.

The only thing that shows is that you have no idea how the LFG tool works.

If there’s “thousands of twinks” then surely they are all queued and can fill 10-20 battlegrounds.

Do they only queue one at a time…

You need to explain yourself.

There’s times when they try to organize events where everybody queues up at the same time, back when I still participated in that there were about 200 people.

Queue times would go from nonexistent to 2.5 hours at best.

I have no idea how it works, but it definitely does not work the way you think that it does.

You need vastly more people than just what is required to fill “one bg”.

I’ll take you at your word.

Isn’t the issue then to fix the LFG tool to make it less picky for twinks/XP off queues.

The tricky thing with that is getting Blizzard to care first.

Meh, this comes up occasionally and you are the only vocal advocate.

I stand by what I said. Twinking is in the dumpster, where it belongs.

That’s because everyone knows they don’t read the forums anyway, or just don’t care.

I’m just here because I’m bored.

Not really, I can make a twink for 5-8k gold right now and stomp bgs for a few days.

You: “Hey I promise it’s not about stomping people by outgearing them to death, it’s only like… a 20-30% dps increase I promise!”

Also you:

The actual numbers are irrelevant.

The point was that you can’t stop levelers from getting wrecked. They always will.

It doesn’t take a max geared twink to do so.

Can you quote where I said that there’s only a 20-30% damage difference between levelers and maxxed twinks, though?

You can reduce it as much as possible, and yeah it either takes a lot of work before they can or some gold and they’re still not as strong as ‘xp-off forever’ twinks in those brackets.

Also you were wrong there, ran into arcane mage level 10 who wasn’t even ‘full twink’ but had a couple gemmed pieces that was doubling, or more dmg. Had a level 20 DK doing crazy numbers, and a 20 paladin too. Like 2.5-3k DPS burst and one shotting entire packs of mobs with AOE.

So yeah, twinks are way stronger than just 20-30% in the first place, or even 50% ‘increased DPS’

You can’t. Not unless you remove gear from pvp altogether and they tried that once before, ending in a major failure.

Mhm, haven’t played in a few months so perhaps something’s changed.

The numbers don’t really matter anyway though. I should still be able to help my friends in dungeons.

The world isn’t going to end just because my friend levels a bit quicker although… now that I think of it… that would remove some incentive for people to buy boosts from the Blizzard store, so…

…I guess that’s why they really banned Twinks from dungeons.

 of course it is

I’ve done thousands of dungeons on my twinks. You would be the first person to complain that “the run goes too fast and effortless”.

They’re already reducing it as much as possible without people finding exploits, all they really need to do is fix party sync and other xp-off people getting into xp-on queues like the level 20 f2p stuff.

Nope, since the level squish it’s been like that.

You can. On an appropriately leveled character you can group with friends and do dungeons.

You mean not really getting to play my character/class and mess around with my abilities cause everything’s dying so quickly and one person is basically soloing it? Some people do queue dungeons to enjoy/play the game.

Lmao name one exploit.

That’s not an exploit. That’s what f2p has been since f2p was introduced which is like, pretty much the beginning of the game.

Technically I can, but they won’t be able to level up because they get a debuff when they group with me, because I have my XP locked, that makes them get way way less XP.

Which means that it’s pointless.

You really enjoying that 8th run of Blackrock depths that much bro?

Let’s get real here.

Sure! Quick-switching xp-off right as queue pops while in a group with someone that has xp-on so you can get into xp-on bgs.

‘pretty much the beginning of the game’ actually more towards MoP, or even later. Which I’m referring to the people that make a new WoW license, turn xp off, deck out their char. Turn it back on, let sub expire and then sit in BGs not gaining XP that way at level 20.

Not at all, and as I already said you’re free to turn your xp on.

Yep? I do enjoy doing dungeons, and leveling, and playing my characters. I’d also appreciate you to not misgender people and use more gender neutral terms if you don’t know, or ask.
