Hi everyone! Let’s face it: Classic != Vanilla. And the main reason for it is server capacity, a change that was welcome by vast majority of players, but in the end brought many PvP servers to ruin. With increased server capacity world PvP landscape has been drastically affected, therefore creating Classic-exclusive environment, which is different from Vanilla. Imagine a raid setting with increased maximum group size. It will lead to easy mode raids. Now take Azeroth as a whole with increased population - you’ll basically get the same situation, especially for the dominating faction, but on a larger scale.
Faction NPCs in the open world are of the same lvl and are in the same numbers as they were in Vanilla, yet players now have much bigger numbers to deal with them, making said NPCs a non-existent factor when taking over a settlement of the opposing faction.
Also, there are more players for dominating faction to farm/grief on as there are just more people in absolute terms. So, it’s simple: Classic experience is already different from Vanilla experience, and I think it’s pretty obvious.
So, to address the situation, I suggest that Blizzard should adapt to the mutated environment Blizzard have created and apply (or at least consider applying following changes):
-
Increase quantity and lvl of guards in cities/settlements
-
Punish high level players for killing grey players. There is nowhere to hide now.
-
Disincentivize Xv1 PvP by giving less honor points if you’re only winning due to numbers.
-
Faction specific log in queues on full servers (not implemented yet?)
To sum it up, #YesChanges! Make Classic last, Blizzard.
