I general, l do not care about gear as long as I can complete the content I want to. But as a rule of thumb, I prefer no RNG over RNG. It is more predictable and reliable and I like it that way. I liked my BiS shopping list back in BC. I didnât have to think much about what I should get from where.
ALL MY SHEEPS ARE AUTOMATICALLY BROKEN!?
JACKPOT!!
Jesus christ stop it with the automatic AoE. Gods.
I canât say I have any strong feelings one way or the other.
Set bonuses are usually quite uninteresting to me, so âmehâ, whatever.
Itâs the appearance that I care about way more.
And in that regard 11.1âs tier set for hunters is absolutely horrible in my opinion.
im just going for the elite pvp set
and then ill get exalted rep and log out tbh
i just dont have the desire to play WoW and be excited anymore
its lost its spark
Its ok to have breaks, I also find many things that annoy me in modern wow but I also find multiple things that I like. We just happen to speak more of the things that annoy us, its still a good mmo in general
Makes sense, otherwise random loot drops would suddenly be âGamblingâ, the main target of the law is Gacha-games and loot-boxes with random contents, not removing any form of RNG from games entirely.
At this point such CC feels completely useless in retail. Unfortunate.
Well only if it breaks on damage.
Shes right, poly has been mostly useless cc in retail since dragonflight. Even hunters play diamond trap only because it makes trap unbreakable by dmg with the cost of -1sec duration. I cant play normal trap cause someone will go hit it or some random proc breaks it.
All cc in pvp that breaks from dmg has just become redundant with the amount of aoe and all random procs that do random dmg to some enemy somewhere and people in soloq modes in general on top of that will hit your poly even if its sheep beside base that you are trying to cap. They should just add some honor talent for sheep aswell to make it unbreakable by dmg I guess.
Sadly we are at the point where we have to âdumben downâ the game to compensate for all the added random procs and cleave and pugs playing uncoordinated in soloqs in general. I doubt they will do much changes regards the aoe or random procs, so I guess easier for us then is probably ask changes on cc that does break from dmg.
Youâre agreeing with me
CC that just takes someone out of combat or disrupts them with a tiny hiccup so their cast gets interrupt - thatâs useful. And thereâs A LOT of it. Too much, even. But locking people out with something like Polymorph or Trap or Blind etc. just doesnât work anymore.
Exactly as you say.
It can be useful in rare 1v1 PvP circumstances but 99% of the time itâs a total waste of time.
Yes, all cc in retail that still breaks from dmg feels almost useless now since dragonflight with the amount of aoe and random procs doing dmg we have. Its terrible for classes with cc that breaks.
When I saw them adding shuffle around SL I were anticipating something as such regards cc when we mix up pugs play uncoordinated. I anticipated classes with unbreakable cc and faceroll type smorc specs to perform best in these settings.
Also nothing is more tilting than poly enemy to cap a base and watch someone rp walk there to take a auto attack swing on the poly to break it just in time for him to stop your cap.
They added 2 soloq modes for rated now to mix up pugs play uncoordinated and do random things, they also added a lot procs and aoe, now they are adding more procs. At some point they need to do something for cc that still break from dmg, basically âdumben downâ the game even more. I feel were still in testing phase with these and they havent fully adapted the game yet for major changes they made. It might become better still slowly, probably just takes few years.
Adding PuG options doesnât mean making classes into AoE monstrosities.
Itâs obviously designing for M+ thatâs done this. M+ players want AoE out their rears because it means that bigger pulls â faster times â higher scores.
Thus every class has started a race to âwho can do the most AoE damageâ, and so Blizzardâs fix is to constantly add more.
And more.
And more.
M+ has gone completely off the rails and itâs been off the rails for a few expansions now, and itâs pulled class design with it based on feedback from high end PvE players who have no understanding of how PvPâers or average players in general experience the game. By and large itâs all about how it feels to them. They donât care if the visuals work or if it creates clutter it seems. They just wanna have a fun time hitting things that always do the same thing at 20 difficulty levels and they have WeakAuras.
Itâs really bad feedback, but here we are.
Yes, they added tons of aoe and cleave and bloated every spec with cc and even aoe cc just cause m+, result for pvp were at first hand that they had to nerf all cc durations cause the new cc bloat we suffered, now they have done that and nerfed all cc durations. They havent yet addressed the cc that breaks from dmg though. I think thats next.
I donât know. I hope they realise that this is wrong and go back, but Iâm not holding my breath. Honestly I donât know what theyâre gonna do.
Well, lets hope they stop making the game self destruct over the workload all the dozen procs put on it, the occasional âslowmoâ when dozen things proc in somewhere like battlegrounds, even though how epic it would make the moment or not. Sometimes it slows down to look like matrix or max payne slow motions when bloodlust is popped and people press all coolies
Canât wait for Khaz Casino gambling night!
Iâll see you there dawg
Who needs the gold saucer when weâre a walking casino?
I think they are adding these RNG procs , abilities , talents , trinkets to remove the skill cap .
I mean back in TBC you had stuff like dot snapshotting , seal twisting , shield swapping , stance dancing . If you did those thing rights you would top dps by a mile . It took time to properly learn and execute it , especially in a stressful situation such as PvP or a boss fight .
Now all of this is removed and you have RNG abilities , trinkets , ets that flare up and do their thing automatically .
You basically play whack-a-mole on the flare button and thatâs all . It is especially visible on some classes with huge RNG .
So whatâs harder , press the shiny button , or learn a rotation ?
I for one donât like these procs , modifiers , flare up spells . It feels like total botting . You canât look at anything but your ability bar , because something always flares up , let a lone keep track of the million sub buffs that appear to buff your , let say sinister strike .
I canât even see what killed my character , because visually it is impossible and in the out of the box combat log , in the few seconds logged , you get hit by 30 procs that did 10k damage on a 6000k hp pool .
Correct me if im wrong, but hasnât rng procs always been a part of this game? Just because they slap a few gambling related words on it doesnât make it any more or less rng than it has always been.
Im looking forward to the patch, always wanted to see a goblin casino themed patch.
