You know its fun trying to do hardcore challenge in retail

Just to get oneshot by a regular frozen herb in Battle for Azeroth chromie timewalking while in 100% health and wearing full gear, because Blizzard didnt bother scaling the damage from the herb when squishing the stats.

Cant believe I spent hours just to die like this lol.

Hardcore is a stupid concept.
That’s my take.

I guess hardcore makes only sense in classic, because the game is really easy. I don’t see the appeal in dragonflight at all, especially since the zones are weirdly scaled making such a challenge extremely hard, since you’d need to know all the weirdly scaled/dangerous mobs at any level

Playing a game like this in Hardcore is a pure waste of time, moreso than usual as one stupid mistake will cost you days/weeks/months of progress…

And even if you did get to end game what would you do? would you Raid and be one shot by a cheap mechanic? You’d even die in LFR as some people don’t have the most basic clue on how to do mechanics.

nah man pass.

Leveling in retail is easy and fast, you can level doing dailies.
When fighting mobs you either one-shot or get one-shot.
Hardcore doesn’t make any sense at all.
In Classic there is no scaling, you can’t level only by doing dailies and through mining and herbalism.

Indeed, its weird gameplay in my opinion, you are in constant stress of loosing everything, and dying etc, therefore you can not even play at your full potential no matter how good you are. When we were progressing and eventualy completed Dawn of infinite Deathless run,Our dps was Way lower for example due to this stress. If you can not let go, you can not access Flow like in m+ for example, where Death does not matter realy, you can die few times and Run is still Good. So i do not realy like such content/challenges as it is just not for me atleast. But i mean if some people find it Fun, who am i to judge, play what you want. As for Retail Hardcore challenge technicaly it is not as easy as people think, if you do not remember some zones/expansion it can lead to your downfall due to overconfidence. There are Zones you can easily die in, like not remembering That Big elite Patroling there, or Some Rare elites Have abbilities That Do lot of dmg for example. And Also 60-70 would be hard and tedious if you do not play it smart and avoid some areas, quests etc. You also can not realy Risk it in dungeons, As On normal Dungeons each time there are deaths from my experience when leveling some alt. As Normal Dungeons are tuned Around 300 Ilvl so Some bosses/thrash still hurts if you do not have some Guy in 440+ to carry the group with Insane dmg or Tank With same gear that can pretty much solo the dungeons casualy. But i mean You could cheese No death easily Just get a friend to carry you And grind Exp for you while you afk pretty much. There will be 0 deaths in your character statistic, So it counts technicaly. As if we apply Logic- Hardcore is just 0 Deaths untill lvl 70, Your statistic tab says 0 deaths? Congrants you have it done.

there is better games to hardcore.

classic hardcore…

it just another excuses to rerelease classic wow again.

what is this the 3rd or 4th time now?

it’s kind of like skyrim…

i have so many versions of skyrim which i will never play.

but they kept releasing it and people kept buying it for me on different platforms lol.

It’s so silly even Bethesda made their own jokes about it

All these people saying it’s a waste of time… it isn’t if you’re having fun. There are many different ways to play this game.

Thanks for the laugh op needed it today!

True. I never said it’s a waste of time; I mean… All of gaming is a waste of time. But it’s about the fun.

For me though there is no fun in the idea of hardcore. None.
It adds nothing to the game that I like. Hence why I think it’s a stupid concept.

But each to their own.

Complaining about dying though is beyond silly. Yes; there’s stuff that can kill you out there in the game; because it’s not made with hardcore in mind. If you choose to engage with the game in that way; then don’t complain.

Try ironman instead, no prof, grouping and only grey/white gear. Its not as bad as you think.

Playing “hardcore” goes against the whole premise of how WOW was originally designed. A massive waste of time and hardly a challenge in retail.

If you are going to play the twitch no lifer game mode at least play on Hydraxian Waterlords.

Killing time before official hc in retail as well. On my monk I died at 23 doing quest in southern barrens and seeing like 7 corpses by the Q mob and wondering wth happened here only to get one shotted by an alliance guard immediately.

Hunter died at 33 in the first area in Vashjir due to quest buggin and just getting wrecked by continious mob spawning, had to do some clever use of game mechanics on my 2nd monk to complete the Q.

It’s fun tho, end game doesn’t interest me anymore and haven’t leveled a character since MoP.

If you go hardcore, don’t complain and throw the blame on Blizzard whenever you die.
It was your decision because you wanted to challenge yourself and you failed. Hardcore wouldn’t be a challenge if you knew for sure you wouldn’t die, just a grind.

You will have spent even more hours to die to Fyrakk in Ohn’aran plains while quest levelling.

Bit annoying when the only way to survive it is to be somewhere else.

The huts don’t offer any protection, and the unaffected centaurs just stand there waiting for another adventurer shaped charcoal biscuit to appear.

I am not against the danger, just the lack of options.

If the huge progress bar on his fury and the zone wide angry emotes aren’t enough then there is no saving you.

Feels pointless to try in retail can’t wait to try on classic in a couple weeks

EtchaSketch Skyrim would be awesome to be fair…

There are at least two mobs in eversong woods which will one-shot or be extremely hard for most low level players. Scaling is buggy and they don’t care.

Tried Hardcore in Remnant 2 to get squished by the Sentinel Cube boss encounter… twice.

No more! Honestly don’t see the appeal of HC. :frowning:
