You know something is wrong when the Nostalrius server was way less laggy than Blizzard's servers

You brought that up - not me

But then I don’t have these issues - just this handful if complainers on a forum

I think my flurry of responses were prompted by the suggestion I was an ignorant cave dweller who didn’t understand the OP’s issues

Which I do - but which I still believe are an issue at the client/ ISP end not Blizz

Then how come when Dire Maul launched everyone there was complaining about lag? It was a hilarious 20 second latency that made PvP completely pointless to even try. Not a single person was going: “No lag for me at DM!”.

Only 20 sec? You were lucky

Google - Wow Classic population by server - the results may embarrass you

And is it still the same?

Concurent != total

Of course not because the event is over and done with. Just like world bosses will be fine when the event is done and the boss dead… yay?

Or evey week when we try to go to mc and get ambushed by 200 horde xe

You mean like classic launch - huge issues settled down within a couple of days

No way Blizz can predict traffic on that scale

You have unreasonable expectations

They have every way to expect that when something of interest is going on there is likely going to be a raid or two battling it out. This will be world boss spawns all the time. It is even currently happening outside of raids from time to time. Also private servers seem to be able to handle these events fine so there is that.

I’ll leave you to your alternative reality

Excepr some kinds running a server on a toaster were able of handling events orders of magnitude more demanding, such as an aq launch with thousands of players spamming spells around the aq guates. So no it isnt unreasonable to ask blizz to be able to handle events not even half as demanding as that

Because they have tiny populations by comparison

Again - every time a forum user tries to compare a private server to Blizz you make a fool of yourself - because the numbers on Blizz servers are so many orders of magnitude higher

And the events get streamed to generate further interest

Private servers had higher pops, way higher than bliezard servers

They have more players fighting in a single area and not less. That is the metric that matters and not the players sitting idle in Orgrimmar on some other server.

I think you have a remarkable lack of understanding of the size of Blizz compared to a private server

That is true, while it lagges for us it did not lag for our bank alts in ironforge that day

Data ?

Blizz publish theirs - I assume the private server do:did

Blizzard didnt want the servers to be to big, thats why they have this thing called a player cap, and transfers and why they made new fresh servers. Private servers didnt have this, 1 server no pop cap nothing

Also once I got inside DM:E the lag went away. So it was a localized problem on the service running that part of the world of that layer. That heavily suggests that Blizzard servers do not have the capacity to handle player numbers in one location that are common in Classic.
