You recently deserted a group... No I bloody didn't!

I just go straight to doing my covenant campaign. You get gear pretty quickly that you can upgrade with anime to ilvl 197 eventually.

You also unlock higher ilvl rewards from WQs, higher pvp gear ilvl ranks and renown for soulbind unlocks.

Dungeons can make renown catch up faster and you can just skip doing plaguefall , specially when queuing as tank (sign specific). Cant imagine the random bonus is even worth it.

Gearing via 5mans is a waste, when you can get a full set of 197 gear within afew hours by just doing your covenant campagin/world quests for anima to upgrade it.

I get it. Maybe you like random 5man tanking, but then you get this kinda bullcrap.

Just make that the amount of end exp you get is reduced based of the number of bosses you have skipped.

Is not nuclear science.

Well - I suspect that majority of kicks happens when someone got DCed and the rest of the group is not ready to wait and see if he will be able to reconnect any time soon.

There are many situations when someone might get kicked without any malignant intent from his or her side.

You have to stumble on 3 of those in one day just to get the same punishment as you get now if you stumble on one. Much better deal in wast majority of cases.

The FF route of not being able to kick someone without a valid reason or risk action by a game master would do nicely to compliment the current system. But, we all know Blizzard won’t do that heh. Commendations are also kind of nice, but those tend to get thrown at tanks/heals more than DPS so it’s a bit flawed too.

I also sort of like their ‘guide/Mentor’ system a BIT more than WoWs even though it’s still not very great.

Coincidentally people abuse the ‘report afk’ function in BGs as a vote kick, enough people report you fast enough and you get insta-kicked, no idle-debuff giving you time to attack stuff etc. Kicked right in the middle of combat, has happened to before and you get deserter for it. Think the only ‘fair’ way to deal with all the stuff in place would to do as FF has done with GMs.

It is a simple case of a law being amended because some people exploited loopholes to commit misdeeds.

Or as we call it on the internet :

I still just think it’s so stupid that you enter a dungeon with the intention of not killing the baddies inside. Like leaving the big bad’s henchmen alive is a logical expectation somehow? And everyone else is just supposed to know this and go along with it - including the people whose legendary memory or conduit or whatever drops from those bosses?
It’s like the bloody Everbloom wallhacking all over again! You literally entered the boss rooms from behind and no one saw anything morally questionable with it, even viciously attacked anyone daring to say it feels shady. Except this time there’s no “omg muh leeeeaderboooards!” excuse to not fix the dungeon.

yup it does come up regularly… seems there is a lot of idiots still playing wow with go go go mentality >.>

Re-entering my msg, i thought you wanted to skip and acted like a spoiled brat about not skipping it

In this case, this is stupid, specially since its not even that much xp difference from skipping the bosses or not, its a slight boost

Farming normals to enter heroics? What? Just buy i168 gear, an i235 legendary precursor to keep in your bags and you’re off to the races.

Does that mean Blizzard shouldn’t fix Plaguefall so the door to Stradama remains closed unless all 3 other bosses are dead? No it doesn’t, and the fact it’s remained like it is for so long is just further evidence of how stripped bare the team has become, but do yourself a favour and save some time for a pittance of gold.

There are many things that can be done, Blizzard just don’t want to spend any effort on anything.

For example, they can do the following:

Every week, 1,000 random successful votes to kick are examined using the logs. In cases where the logs show no visible reason to kick (the kicked character is not afk, is doing appropriate damage / healing, is not aggroing the entire instance, is not chatting obscenities, etc), people who voted to kick get their privileges to vote to kick temporarily removed. They still vote, but their votes don’t count, eg, for a week, because they have been known to kick for no good reason. This snowballs, as usual – if after they get their ability to kick, they abuse it again, it is removed for longer, etc.

If you need to capture more data in the logs to make it feasible to say whether the kick was warranted, do so. If you have trouble specifying what is valid reason to vote to kick, well, there’s your problem, you cannot be vague about such things, everyone should know what the rules are. Make these rules and publish them.

The problem with this is that it takes effort. Blizzard don’t want to spend effort. They want to keep paying bonuses to Bobby Kotick. That’s why nothing will be done.

So if you’re in a group with three whose votes are suspended, and the other player is a player who genuinely deserves to be kicked, what you going to do?

someone in the chat will just write “kick for {reason}” before starting the votekick. Or you know what? There will be an addon / weakaura to align the kick reason :joy:

Let’s say you need four votes to kick normally. If there are just three guys who can vote, and they all vote to kick, then the offender is kicked, the number of votes required to kick decreases. If it is just one or two votes remaining, which should happen rarely, the offender is not kicked, it’s as if some of the required guys voted not to kick, this happens all the time now as well.

But their votes are suspended? So if they can vote, what’s the point of the suspension?

And if the player who deserves to be kicked cant, then that player can cause chaos for the run, even forcing it to be abandoned, and deserter tag.

I am saying if there are guys A, B, C who can vote to kick (not suspended) and guy D who cannot (suspended), and A, B, C all vote to kick, then the offender (E) is kicked. The vote of D does not count, that’s the meaning of the suspension. Whether E can vote or not is irrelevant as well.

Yes but I am referring to players A,B and C having their votes suspended, so thay can’t vote.

Its a theoretical point, but could happen.

Then E is not kicked due to there being not enough votes. Life is tough, this happens now as well.

The solution isn’t to change the vote kick system even though situations like this show how it the deserter buff can be annoying for someone who is completely innocent.

Blizzard needs to patch Plaguefall so that the first two bosses are no longer optional.

So no real point in the system suggested then really, to the point that players A,B and C could group up knowing that they couldn’t be kicked, and again cause chaos.
