Hearthstone crashing on iPad

Same problem. It onterestingly always happens at the first round before I play any card. Then it works well. On solo player crashes even more often.

Yes, same issue. Freezes every now and then, always on my turn when I try to interact with my cards. I usually manage to resume the game by starting the application again, but the restart always makes me miss at least one turn, thus resulting in a lost match on most Arena runs.

Considering Arena is a paid feature, this bug falls squarely in the “very serious” category. In a perfect world, a multi-billion dollar company like Blizzard would take steps to remedy the lost runs & monies. Funny how smaller companies actually do this :man_shrugging:

I have the same issue. iPad pro, iOS up to date. I reinstalled the game, powered on and off many times. I noticed it more frequently happens when I’m swiping up from the bottom but not always. The game just disappears and I’m at my home screen then I reboot the game and I’m usually reconnected to the game with the wire burning down. This has been going on for a few weeks. I only play standard quick play. This doesn’t happen on my android phone, only iPad. I’ve been playing for years on this device and have never experienced this.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to provide some updates on the situation.

  1. Devices with less than 2GB of RAM may experience frequent crashes. This will impact iPad Mini/iPad Airs mostly. There’s also been reports of this with iPhone 6 devices.
Note: This may potentially be impacting iPad 6th & 7th Gen with 2GB or more memory.

The issue above is still being looked into. If you are on iOS 12.4 and below, and the device can be updated, please check for any iOS software updates. This may be a hit or miss, since this was an older fix from awhile ago but worth a try if it can help some of you on these reported devices.

  1. iPad Pros are crashing when matching into a ranked game.

Our team have found a fix, that will be pushed as soon as the tests are completed. Please check for upcoming updates for Hearthstone and patch notes.

Thanks again for your reports! we will continue to update as we have more information.

I’ve also noticed that when I connect after crash ( which nearly always happens at start of game when swiping a card into play) I have to rush to get my turn in before fuse runs down then when game ends I go back to home screen and have zero coins. When I restart game my coins come back. My devices are iPad Air 2 and iPhone XR both latest iOS versions 13.3. Never had one issue before latest patch.

Same issue with ipad pro here… Since weeks the game randomly crashes. I tried all troubleshooting steps (both Blizzard and iOS) and even went as far as resetting my ipad… Nothing helped… Still no solution?

My wife and I both use iPad mini 4 which has 2GB RAM and have had constant crashes ever since the last patch (the shaman nerfs). The latest iOS update is installed. There wasn’t a noticeable amount of crashes before the update, it used to crash very rarely and mostly on battleground . Now it crashes in more than 50% of games. Really disappointing since it’s been happening for 2 weeks+ right after we invested hundreds of dollars on the brand new expansion.

The game has been absolutely unplayable on all game modes ( I tried casual, ranked, battlegrounds, and single player story modes). I did a count out of 10 games in different modes and it crashed a total of 6 times and most resulted in a turn lost which is a defeat in many situations.

This is taking too long. On other discussions other guys said you are actually aware of what the problem is. And still, people keep crashing. There are lots of people out there like me who supported you all buying products from you, no matter how insensate and unrewarding that was. And now we find ourselves in this situation for a very long time.
As I said in other posts, this is very offensive for customers, and it’s very sad to read things as “It doesn’t appear to be massively widespread yet”, it doesn’t have to be, . There’s a bunch of post, a lot of people is complaining, so it is widespread, everyday I get more nervous risking to lose ranked matches because the company (A gigantic company) have other priorities. I know it’s not yor fault, that you have to answer with a smile, but as programmer I cannot stand to things such as “we simply don’t have much info on it”, people stated that apple said that it’s not devices fault (ios), the crash happens randomly, the issue is a crash, maybe a forced arrest, the issue happened after the last update, what do you need more?Enough with this non-transparency politic. You can satisfy the majority of your fans by sending sad faces, but not everyone falls for it.
Be more serious, I’ve seen other companies solve this kind of issue in like days not weeks.
Try to understand that this message is not supposed to be aggressive or something, it’s just fair to point out things.
Also I apologize for the grammatical errors but I’m not used to english.
Have a good day.

Can we ho have spent alot off mony on the game have a Refound since i cant play it anymore on iPad. I have 7gen iPad. Done all i can on this to fix it.

When will this be fixed?

As many have said I dare not play ranked on my iPad for fear of a crash. Generally happens either when swiping up from the bottom of the screen to play or view a card, or just crashes out at the end of a game. This started happening after last patch and my IoS was upto date prior to that so in my view the problem is clearly at the Blizzard end. Please fix this asap.

You should remove the 2GB devices from supported devices list then. This is costing people actual money on Arena, money that you most probably have no plans of compensating to players.

Still no patch . Problem continues in my iPad Pro as well. It is not comfort to see that so many others are experiencing the same and no solution yet. It is so frustrating to lose ranked games because of these…

I bought a brand new iPad 7th get yesterday, and I have a problem about once every three games where as soon as I try to play a card on my turn (usually turn one, but not every time.) it crashes and I have to relaunch. Minimal issues after relaunching, but still scared to play ranked for the moment.

IPad Air 2 same problem here with latest iOS installed.Constant crashes occurring when I start to touch a card.Tried uninstall and reinstalling but still nothing.

it seems to be a swipe gesture that closes the programm. For me it started after updating iOS to 13.x and I didn’t have any issues before the update.

I think this is a new feature of iOS linked to the new features on multitasking they added.

Unfortunately i did not find any option tk turn these gestures off.

Hi, any news on this problem yet ??
I’ve spent a lot on this game and the latest expansion but like others won’t spend another penny while the game is in this state. It’s unplayable at the moment on my iPad which is where I play it most.So many games are lost in ranked due to the random crash since the last patch. It’s such a shame as it’s a great game like so many of blizzards.

I’m having a similar issue. For me the game crashes only from time to time and I’m using iPad air 2 with the newest version of iOS.

The game typically crashes when I try to look at one of the cards that’s on the table already. But sometimes also when I just take a card into my hand.

I updated iOS just for this and tried to reinstall the game.

We need an update on this. A month has passed and the game is still crashing every 2/3 games on iPad and occasionally completely randomly.

For example yesterday I did an arena run. Game crashed as I was making my tenth pick, so reloaded expecting temporary stability. Game crashed again on 15th pick.

How is this fundamental problem still in place after four weeks?

I can’t play the game. I preordered DoD expansion but can’t play, since the game isn’t opening in iPad and when it opens, it crashes. One month has passed and the problem persists. What’s the problem with Blizzard?
