đŸ”„ War Within - Dead even before it came out

Then just play like you do right now? It is power added upon power. It’s not power taken from you and given back.

Yeah sure, like I’ll not get kicked from a M+ group as soon as someone sees I haven’t spent my hero talent points

That sounds like an iss-you, not an iss-me.

if war within will be shadowlands 2.0 there will be last nail to coffin we can say what we want but wow was never really recurerated from shadowlands fiasco and retail is in bad position where there are less people and ppl who playing can feel it and still ppl leeching and playing less slowly so next bad expansion will be bad

Yes, I am. Especially since for some classes they chose hero talent names that are extremely lore heavy. They should have added class skins instead, where you are actually free to choose, only impacting the theme / color of your spec or you can chose to keep the standard.

the issue is that same people defending this defended shadowlands as well
yet in retrospect, they rather not mention it
but they learned nothing and they are still out of touch

“Only time would tell” (Nozdormu. 2023)

i like something from shadowlands and something not but one is for sure that ppl left game in shadowlands and they are somewhere else and i dont think so that wow will be like once was

no idea were you got that idea as SL was hated and nobody defended it on this forums, but you do like to twist things to suit your needs.

Yes, it reduces damage you take. You should be using it constantly.

No, it isn’t. It’s an objective fact that hero talents force an additional rank on each current talent spec and narrow it down to two out of three choices.

Apart from the fact that it isn’t me who brought RP into this problem, but the devs by choosing such lore heavy names for their specs contrary to the current rather neutral ones.

It makes zero sens for a Death Knight to be a San’layn. Arthas raised undead into either Death Knights OR San’layn. One can’t be both. Plus, San’layn were all BE, makes no sene for any other race to be able to suddenly call themselves San’layn; same goes for Dark Ranger which implies even more by it’s name: that you’re an undead and follower of Sylvanas. Again, makes zero sense for a goblin marksman to suddenly call themselves a “Dark Ranger”; there are other examples where the new hero talent tree names make zero sense to be pickable by certain races/specs.

Now you can of course say “but RP always gives you the opportunity to be the exception of an exception and reason with your story background” and I would even say you’re correct
so why then do the gameplay machanics force me into one or the other choice? RP and player power shouldn’t be mixed more than it already is.

Oh, and even if we just ignore all RP elements of hero talents, they remain a horrible idea: currently the devs aren’t able to balance classes or even specs of one class, with hero talents they double that problem per spec and on top of it bind the balancing of two specs to each other. Just screams desaster.

Covenants at least gave you only two new buttons, one of which had (almost) no dps influence and one that could have been ignored in theory - pick a covenant but don’t use the ability, lowers your dps but doesn’t impact your rota otherwise. Hero talents change several abilities and the way they interact, impossible to ignore while playing.

PERFECT!!! Here I wanted to corner you  exactly here!!!
Now  here’s the follow up question.
Why do we have the talent tree then?
Why don’t we go back to the old system since we are locked to one build only?

You were locked all the same with the previous talent system, unless you picked obviously underperforming talents.

I got the “idea” from writing post on forums and people defending covenants not being switchable etc. here on forums
you claiming ‘nobody defended it’ is obvious lie

Pretty much
. So
why changing? Why the talents system? Why don’t we have all the spells in the book and call it the day?
Where is the freedom of choice?

Here I leave you with a quote from “the” movie:

  • [Dr. Ian Malcolm]
    If I may
Um, I’ll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you’re using here, it didn’t require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn’t earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don’t take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now
  • [bangs on the table]
  • [Dr. Ian Malcolm]
you’re selling it, you wanna sell it. Well

  • [John Hammond]
I don’t think you’re giving us our due credit. Our scientists have done things which nobody’s ever done before

  • [Dr. Ian Malcolm]
Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should

People asked for it. For a lot of expansions.

They asked to be locked to one build instead of choosing what they want?

It’s repeatedly and successfully been refuted.

You personally not accepting it, is another matter.

But by all means lets just talk endlessly about Covenants which were completely different to Hero Talents.

actually it’s problem you made up in your head

you aren’t becoming san’layn, nor you becoming dark ranger if you pick this tree (you don’t become undead and your soul isn’t being turned into banshee), and of course you aren’t becoming mountain thane through political and racial reasons lmao.
It’s obvious that you just use similiar-to powers. So yeah, this problem is too made up by you

You aren’t choosing anything if everything is given to you
