Itâs always interesting to learn the latest thing that killed or will kill the game/expansion.
Working actively towards it. None other than yourself or God, should decide your own fate. Or in this case, if you are a company, the customer, clearly exposing the hidden around them. As far as Iâm concerned, there is no need for a next expansion in retail.
Iâm pretty sure these are just freely swappable without being tied to all sorts of hamstrings that disincentivize you from going away from your initial choice
Until it can be proven that that is exactly what they intended you cannot compare it to covenants, because ultimately covenants wouldâve been fine if they wouldnât penalize swapping freely between them on command.
All we have to go by are the names, we do not know how much of an aesthetic impact it will have, considering they said its not class skins; my guess is not a lot
Personally I find the admittance that its just going to be yet another formulaic expansion a much bigger problem
Indeed, though itâs still an annoying flaw since you really donât have freedom of choice in the end. One will always parse better, and if thatâs not the fantasy you like, you will most likely end up using the one you like for world content only at best. I do think there is time to find a solution to this, but I donât feel like dismissing the problem.
EDIT: Like, the first thing that comes to mind would be to separate things: make two new branches of talents, or a new row, or whatever, to keep the game interesting and spicy mechanics up. Cool.
The SECOND thing to do would be to keep all the lore and cosmetic thing OUT of the talent tree, give some special questlines, characters, hell maybe even class halls, alter the spells look, and whatever comes to mind!
It would be something like choosing your set of attacks and abilities for your fight style, and THEN flavour it up with cool looking effects and lore by adding a cosmetic layer on top of it, like the green fire for warlocks.
Eight more crippling deathblows just unveiled
yet you skipped my question here
Iâm not interested in your personal attacks. If you have nothing to contribute to discussion, then leave it at that.
Instead hero talents locks you to choose a specific talent path, like eye of tyr (wake of ashes), PI for priests.
And do you know what will we choose? The one that wowhead says itâs the best. I donât have to be a clairvoyant to know that.
If pooping blessings for the group sims better then Iâm forced to be a lightforged
What covenant did we choose back in SL? Thatâs right: the one that wowhead told us to.
Nothing changes.
And no, I donât have the wowhead talents build. I chose mine based of my preferences and if itâs similar to wowhead it means those talents were good. THAT is free choice, something these hero talents seems not to be made for.
?
When would you ever NOT take PI? You are throwing if you donât take PI.
Besides, theyâre reworking oracle.
When would you ever NOT take wake of ashes?
All I know is; I have looked at the hero talents for druid; guardian specific as thatâs what I mainâŠ
⊠and I can just say; Itâs super boring. I will literally not care, just take whatever is BiS and go.
Would be cool if we got some true cosmetics only, like âmakes your X look like a power ranger moveâ, but has - zero - effect on combat itself.
As it is now, itâs just âWhateverâ-talents.
easiest conclusion would be to add class / spec skins separately.
perhaps they are planned as TP or shop items.
the talents however even before this heroic talents opened up certain abilities and related visuals if you chose them via the talent tree so this is hardly like Shadowlands.
more like Classic.
the issue with SL was that it was hard to change the covenant abilities.
Can you change heroic talents without grinding?
You donât see the point mate. The talent tree was designed after the Covenant fiasco where it limited the choice of free will.
I donât care if wake of ashes is bis or PI or whateverâŠ
This would limit your free will.
You can now donât take it. Would it make you worse? Yes. But you can.
Forcing you to take is like the Covenant once over again.
Thats exactly my point.
Why go through all this mess when they can just add another row to the talent tree. DONE.
OR even better: Do like the PvP talents. Just add 3 more things from a list of talents (of YOUR choosing) and change them around every season.
OR even better: Make that extra row of talents M+ only, or Raid only. And they can add specific talents that would cover some of the major weaknesses some classes have. To avoid things like buffing X skill for raid, but making it OP in M+. Things along those lines.
Why go for something new that might, or might not work.
When you got the simple solutions that 100% work just staring at you in the face. I dont get it.
But then it doesnât matter if youâre playing subpar builds either way. The talent trees as they function already lock you in. I run the same build every dungeon as a holy priest on the spec tree, thereâs just no reason to not run it. On the class tree I might change some talents around depending on the affixes of the week and dungeon but largely it remains the same as well.
⊠agree !
Thatâs a strange stance to take when your entire gear is transmogged.
You doing okay buddy?
It does.
Ok think of the scenario for a second:
You donât talent Wake of Ashes or Eye of Tyr. Letâs say you hate it, your cat died when you chose the talent.
Ok. And now? What does Templar hero talent do for you? Nothing. Absolutely⊠nothing.
Why? Because you donât have wake of ashes. Ooops.
Then you have to choose the other oneâŠ. Just like⊠covenants
Oh did you go Kyrian because you like angels or because it add a powerful priest/paladin spell?
Where have you been for the majority of the current playerbase âchoice is an illusionâ with all the sim sites and bis item lists this game has no more âexploration, or trial and error with itâ and the excitement of finding new items is dead as BiS lists are almost out before the current patch is along with this the gameâs community now âexpectâ you to conform to the sims and gear choices/talents.
Again when The War Within comes out you,ll find a BiS list, Best Talents and Best Choices but this is NOT a blizzard problem itâs a community problem as itâs the community who dictate this. If you are not pushing the top 0.05% playerbase pushing to min-max every little bit of power out of your character then I doubt very much there will be HUGE difference between them, This combined with unless you are parsing 95-100% ALL the time on logs it,s not going to make much difference.
It is when they decide the talents to pick for us
Spare your breath mate, I had the same discussion with the OP yesterday. He cherrypicks the one sentence in your argument he can twist and smugly claim heâs right all along. Not worth talking to this guy, not when the entire forum already gave him proof on a platter, and he still yells heâs the only one thatâs right.
