Well, i’m not talking about only you. U’re fine with being always behind on cloak, i wish there was a faster cloak catchup that didnt require raiding. I gave my reasons for why i dont like this timegated catchup.
I took a break when cloak 12 was cap, there’s no point in me even coming back for a second before shadowlands right now even if I were to go back to my old main. Feels pretty bad

Imagine how casual players like me feel. I am like 35 corruption behind because I didn’t want to do the mandatory lame grind fest blizzard made .despite me playing the game
There shouldn’t be a cap for ppl that are behind on cloak, getting the vessels is cap enough,
and it’s not like we’re doing less then the ppl that are at the cloak cap, u ran the same amount of Visions as we have to.

Unless you wanna be a rio star I’m not sure what you are trying to catch up to. The raid is truly dismal and I mean easily the worst raid in the last 5 years, m+ is a waste of time unless for rio, pvp year I can see the attraction of rolf stomping but if you make catch up something that can be done in a couple of weeks then you will just see further doubling down of fotm classes. Bottom line, this crap expansion is over, so why not just take a break or concentrate on something else?

well guess what, whole gaming is waste of time unless it is your profession.
People do it for relaxation and gearing to the top and pushing things is what many people like.
If you are at the edge of your skill with the lower corruption, you could go higher with more corruption. Simple as that.
Do you need it? no
Does anybody need it? no
Do MDI players need it? no
They don’t need it because on the tournament realm they can buy whatever they want and playing a +19 is free loot for them anyways. Since they can never have the same gear on live, you cannot even argue they need this gear to practice.
The arguments that you don’t need it is stupid. If it is in the game, you want it, you need it. Simple as that, even if you only play +4 because you are a garbage player. If you have op gear you can now do +8 yay.

Why? Because if you run higher keys on your main, going back to lower keys is much less fun.
Playstyles and people are different on +18s than they are on +8.
I log on my alt, even though 470 geared and log off because I know it would be an embarrassment to compete in +18s
that is why the game is so terrible atm.
I would need a very long time to farm echoes and items for being remotely competitive
now taking this shaman as an alt… god I would need to farm 30k echoes to buy tons of expedient.
Instead I rather log off or quit the game because that is a huge slug. Also would need to kill the stupid raidboss with pugs over and over again. No thx
Actualy % stat corruptions are better than procs.
if you are playing casual you dont need that corruption resistance for anything that you do.
you want it - for sure - but you dont need it.
what you want in reality is to turn wow into LoL/Dota
be able to log in any char you want and imidiately jump into +18/mythic raiding
you are willking to kill any mmorpg aspect in game to play instance symulator.
thats why catering to top 5% is killing wow for years and why classic is so popular compared to retail
I think they need to revisit the whole cloak and upgrade system. The early catch up works reasonably but the later catch up after 15 is just awful.
I am not sure if they will dedicate much time to this but it would be nice for those coming back to the game or gearing alts to have a smoother way to catch up.

I get the feeling that this is especially what the younger players seem to want
they never did both in WoD / Legion.
why should they though if people have been clearing everything in game without even max basic cloak resistance in first place
that 30-50 corruption resistance extra is just extra - nothing anyone need to clear any content in game.
and they are getting it in SL - cant wait for 3243243232 threads “i have nothing to do in game” in week 3 of expansion once they will get fully mythic + 10 gear.
that will be the older players complaining. The young ones are probably used to it if we’re right. It’s like all the other games they’re playing

After BfA, I wouldn’t mind having less stuff to do in Shadowlands tbh.
Any player with even slightly competitive aspect to the game would disagree. Time gating the cloak at this point does nothing but push people away from the game.

Its just not fun because it makes the entire vendor pointless. Once your alts are rank 15, you cant use that many corruptions because your resistance is too low. My main has almost full BiS pvp gear outside of mythic raiding. I can upgrade 2 items and I am missing 2 sockets but by the next time gush is around, I’ll have bis corruptions and sockets so I want to play around on alts and not even being able to use many corruptions is just boring.
Just making all HVs give resistance if behind and ideally make cleansing corruption give echoes.
Yeah, its dire. If I am someone wanting to go into wow now,I would only do so to prepare a char for SL and do low level things. As a player that didnt leave the game during BFA, Im also punished for wanting to spice up my time and go into an alt that happened to level to max a few weeks behind in 8.3. I feel Im a minority though and that most people would have been smarter, just taking a few months of break altogether.
I dont really know why is it so wrong to have some mechanism akin to the conquest catch up in pvp or how the storyline unlocks in Suramar/Argus worked. Was it that broken or easy because it still feels like the much more preferable option to this.
