For people who are denying that we got better as players, or having better connections, etc, here are a few facts about this video :
Ping is 300ms+ almost for the entire fight. That’s HUGE! Very HUGE! And yes, that’s how bad internet connection was back then, which was the norm! Whoever keeps saying that internet connection was good, should see this, or other links about internet speed in 2004/2005 : http://xahlee.info/comp/bandwidth.html
He’s clicking abilities which are not 1,2,3,4 on his keyboard. And this is not the only video from back in the days, where people are just clicking their abilities rather then macro’s/binding, which means that Macros - Key Binding was NOT a thing back then.

…you got the idea, right?
vs
2019
Now, could we stop with the idea that “we didn’t got better” , be it in skills, as a gamer, internet connection, hardware, etc ?
I strongly believe that you have no idea what i’m talking about. Hold your mouse on that … green bar down near your bags, and see what is this all about.
Sorry , too much wall of text. Care to elaborate a bit whats this all about?!
I never said we are playing the exact version of the game from back in 2004/2005 ( and I strongly hope you didn’t waited for this version, since we knew that we will get 1.12 …months ago ).
What I’m saying is that we did get better as gamers, we do have (a lot) better internet speed which plays a huge role in online games, we now know how to macro/key bindings to make your rotation A LOT more smooth, etc.
That “wall of text” shows the massive nerfs to dungeons/raids and massive buffs to itemization and talents up to 1.12. You claim that the “l33t skillz” of the average modern gamer makes more of a difference than all the changes listed in that wall of text, and I object to that statement.
Ah, yes let’s nitpick a bunch of changes to justify why the 3 mechanics bosses are not hard now, but they deeeeeeeeeeeeeffineeeeeeeeetly were super complex back then.
Actually you just proved my point. They were never super complex which means your “l33t skillz” argument FAILS. The difference was that they were massive gear checks before all the nerfs to bosses and buffs to itemization/talents/skills.
Just beacuse you live in a third world country and cant afford proper internet connection does not mean that everyone is living like you. Just the same way not everyone is able to get 24MS.
I’ve never been over 30 MS, not now not ever.
I payed good money to have solid ADSL back in the day.
So you proove me wrong. Go ahead and try.
Second, you never played during Vanilla so you have no fukking idea what you’re talking about. None, zero.
You just one of those cartoons that search up “_solid proo_f” from a time you didnt play.
Yes parroting some uninformed opinions and linking a masive wall of text I doubt you even read deffinetly counts as “point” to be proven.
Please tell me. What were ‘massive’ gear checks? Does filling your spreadsheet of preraid bis count as a gear check cuz we surely mostly did that.
And when did you hit those walls? Was it Garr? Was it Majodormo? Was it Golemagg? Pray tell me which of these ‘intense’ bosses is the gear check. The only bosses remotely close to having dangerous mechanics is Shazzrah and Ragnaros which are both pretty easily counterable. If most bosses barely have any mechanics that can kill the raid how is just scaling the damage gonna make them more difficult.
You can read the patch notes yourself. There were massive itemization and class buffs all the way up to 1.12, which made MC the cakewalk it is today in Classic.
Correct. BIS pre-MC slots was pretty much a requirement before even thinking about attempting Rag upon release.
