2x XP rates on Fresh ERA?

Absolutely horrific idea. Never in a millions years.

I hesitated of should I play Classic WoW or not in 2019 so started playing only in mid of September around 19th. I hit 60 during late phase 2 in the end of October 2019, so overall 1-60 leveling on a druid was around 1,5 moths around 2,5-3,5h a day for 5 days a week. On a PvP realm.

My first run was without questie and I was manually searching groups in chat without LFG Bulletin board or other LFG addons.

IDK where people are taking numbers larger than 2 months from.

double exp would absolutely ruin vanilla, especially combined with some of the other exp grinding methods.

absolutely NO exp boosts.

You have a perfect example right in front of you (which I actively played until my guild disbanded a month ago) — that’s SoD. Here’s what happens with a 150% boost: low- and mid-level dungeons are almost dead. What’s the point of going there if their only benefit is better gear, which is barely needed at 150% speed since it quickly becomes obsolete? Even with dungeon skipping, players still miss out on a significant portion of quests and zones.

However, for SoD, this is fine because all classes are playable and there’s additional content. Vanilla doesn’t have that luxury. If you speed up leveling, you’ll only make the server dead faster (leaving just the raids).

It is possible to do it in 1.5 months if you are playing for insane amounts of time. If you are playing like it is a job (35-40 game hours per week) then yes in 1.5 months you can hit if you also know what you are doing and what route to take.

But this is again, the issue. The level speed is fine for those who have the time to treat it like a full time job, the majority of players don’t.

I would much rather they extend the run of Vanilla to 2 years instead of 1, than buff exp rates. Consuming the content faster is NOT the same as consuming it over a larget amount of time.

Anyway, I am 99% sure you’re a paid actor here for the classic Andys to point at like “See, this is the Azeroth the filthy liberal #changes crowd wants for you! A world where alts dress as mains, and everybody has made up ““specs”” in their bio!”

Sorry but people that disagree with this have too much free time. I concur with the XP buff request for anniversary realms. I would enjoy it a lot more if it was buffed enough so I am not clawing as much xp as I can betwen zones. Just put the rate to something that makes the questing experience smoother and any other QoL changes. I can see myself and many other people getting bored before reaching lvl 60 if not done. I have already done classic leveling twice already and dont really want to do it again. Maybe give people the option to opt into a higher xp rate? The slower rate if not changed could reward a cool title/gold/mount or something when 60 is reached. I think something like that would keep everyone happy.

It skips the leveling experience, it doesn’t improve it lol

It really doesn’t lol, were talking about a slight xp buff like joyous journey, not a level skip or 5x xp

Fair point. However, better levelling experience = more players reaching 60 and levelling multiple alts, so wont be a problem if done right

How is it better if its shorter? Your cutting it, not improving it

It allows the player to pick routes and zones which they enjoy and level at a reasonable pace.

This game has been out for 20 years, we have all done this multiple times, we know what bits we like and what we don’t. Vanilla levelling is painfully slow, the joyous journey buff allows you to level at a pace which doesn’t permit you to skip content but allows you to make meaningful progress playing a few hours a day. Most “new” and returning people don’t make it to 60 because it’s takes months to do with a normal play schedule. With JJ more people will be able to effectively utilise their time.

If you play a five hour session (which is a lot of time to spend on a game) questing in the early 20s in classic you’ll get 1-2 levels of you know what you’re doing , 3 If you’re min maxing hard and possibly only 1 if you’re running through it for the first time. That’s simply too slow
