RP realms are separated from the rest of the EU realm shards and utterly dominated by Argent Dawn alliance on War Mode. They get to eat their cake and have it with the war mode bonus on top of that.
Defias Brotherhood used to have a pretty balanced and enjoyable world PvP environment in Legion. BFA destroyed it.
well i tell you what people tell to me, you get or all horde or 50/50 . Alliance gets 50/50 all time. sometimes i have the feel that what people say is dominating is actually 50/50 and they dont know what is dominating.
The RP-servers are connected, otherwise I wouldnāt even know that DarkmoonFaire and your server are RP-ones.
AD had in its sub-forum a massive anti-rper hate topic going on the past week because so many normal players swapped over to the server and destroy their RP by not applying to official Blizzard RP server-rules.
But yes, you can abuse the WM-system on AD pretty well.
Exactly. Blizz tries to balance things out, but sometimes it fails, especially if there is a world boss in the zone. There might be 50/50 but there is one faction killing the world boss while another is running around the zone doing other things, and if you landed in a shard where your faction is killing the bossā¦ wellā¦ good luck i guess.
There might be a pvp raid running around in the zone, so they are all in the same shard, but the game tries to balance it out and puts lone players of the oposite faction in there, but instead of balancing it, the game just makes them easy targets.
Defias was originally an RPPVP server, mainly focused on world pvp with guilds like the shade etc. However as the gameās changed most of that has been eroded, as you say, AD is the only ārealā RP server outside of a few fringe examples.
I havenāt been able to kill a rare in Uldum this week without joining a group from LFG. I know thereās little that could be done, I donāt mind dying in war mode, thatās part of it. What smacks a bit is that those 5 alliance who flew down to kill me as I was soloing some 4mil hp elite are getting 30% more rewards for nothing.
If I wanted a PvP challenge, Iād play arena. I donāt really see a challenge in trying to solo ten other players as itās just a colossal waste of time that would sour the game for me. I enjoy challenges that are on the edge of my abilities, but that arenāt as futile as fighting windmills. War Mode, when playing solo as Alliance, falls in the latter category.
I donāt play on a former PvP server (neither, I think, did the majority of Alliance players), so it doesnāt surprise me that I donāt know many others who are into War Mode or that Alliance players as a whole didnāt warm up to the system.
I can respect that. I donāt feel strongly about factions (not in real life, either), but I do care about liking my character and my social circle. There are still people around that I met fifteen years ago on this game, and they are on Alliance. I also have to like my character. I tried Tauren and Troll, my only options for a druid, and I couldnāt get into either of those.
I know how much this sucks but this is exactly why I play a rogue (Alli) and hunter (Horde) in in WM. If thing get hairy, I can still vanish and be done with it.
There is no other patch to be added and no new allied races are planned. Sethrak doesnt make any sense for alliance you have 0 connection to this race.
To be fair the Volādun quest seems more than rushed that it doesnāt even have a logical end. When we give him the stone he tells us about a mighty servant of Nāzoth that got stoped by Sethraliss and then nothing. As Alliance player you didnāt even get told that this servant was Mythrax, a boss from the first raid.
āHeās a real threat that shall never return. Oh you remember the second last boss in Uldir? That was him by the way.ā
It feels like Volādun and Nazmir WC quests were created to introduce the Alliance to Uldir, but halfway in Blizzard didnāt care anymore, so I see this 5 minute interaction with the snakes more as a questline they intended to change but didnāt have the time/interest to do it.
