I made two quite long posts that took me some time to write detailing exactly why our characters took the actions they did and how this could have been easily resolved. Please read them.
At the moment you’re referring to I absolutely was
We were invited by the organiser who actually helped NPC an event to justify the Highblood group coming as far as I’m aware (which - again - was really nice of them / I appreciate it)
The Horde’s behaviour of leaving almost immediately when asked? I don’t think they need to be excused for that lol
You saying “uh, but what about the Horde!” is the real whataboutism here
Why don’t the two parties/groups simply settle on avoiding interaction and let this little mishap rest.
I wasn’t even there, but I don’t think this is worth arguing about anymore.
Probably because one group instantly tried to blame everything on the other instead of just accepting that RP doesn’t always goes as planned. This in turn displeased the other group.
… 1 atom thick skin tomfoolery has been achieved here.
Now just throw some vulgar words at each other and be done with it.
Because my popcorn filled submarine can’t take the pressure of the depth we’re reaching, also… that offer i stated earlier still stands if you need to talk.
Shhh, It’s okay, just go back to where you came from and it’ll all be done soon.
That’s completely fine, just don’t want people to claim we griefed here, we did not
Told ya don’t mess with the pack.
If they claim that they should have written a ticket
That is exactly what we did - it was obvious that there had been some miscommunication and there was no point getting steamed about it / I know that events can often go off the rails
The forum drama started because one of the attendees (in fact, the one doing the bulk of the OOC in /say) decided to post a little call-out that naturally invited a response
I generally really appreciate those insights, Dreadbore. And I thank -you- at least, for going about this in a less incendiary way. There’s really just one point in your posts which I personally, strongly, disagree with.
If you want to set up a meeting of Void Elf infiltrators/recruiters where a group of Horde loyalist Blood Elves are aware of it and are surprised when they bring a military force prepared to kill everyone present, you have fundamentally misunderstood how your roleplay was going to turn out.
And really, all of my critique of this point I can reference in Salrathin’s post.
@Morrowburn my hope is people will respect the event for what it is and not change it into something it is not. There are plenty of RP-PVP events to be had but not a lot for which infiltration and stealth can play the most important role. If people want to create a skirmish of sorts then it would be best to contact on an OOC level first, that way those who are interested can play a part in that but it doesn’t have to be forced upon those who are only interested in the event itself.
You should have known that what you were trying to change the event into being, was clearly discouraged and wholeheartedly not appreciated. But you tried to do so regardless, despite not having our consent. I don’t think that’s condusive to good roleplay. And I think yesterday proved beyond a doubt, that it wasn’t.
You don’t look like Worgen to me. :thinkin:
It was agreed with the Highblood the night before that there would be no Rotgarde or allied involvement and that the first gathering would go rather low key. I can provide screenshots but I would rather not get into that out of respect for privacy.
We had no idea a large Horde force would assemble before us and as a result we were not prepared OOC because we had agreed that this wouldn’t happen. Naturally it caused confusion on my side and I reached out to the Highblood organizer. They explained it was a mistake and would try to move everyone away. Keep in mind we had other Blood Elf RPers who had set aside some time in the evening for this event and I wasn’t about to turn them away to organize a fight against a bunch of Horde who randomly showed up to this secluded location without giving me any notice OOC. So I informed everyone to ignore the Horde until the Highblood organizer pulled them back.
Despite this and all the derailing in this thread by those associated to them, I have no hard feelings to the Highblood leadership. They explained it was a miscommunication between them and apologised. Such happens, we move on.
But what is happening in this thread right now is over the top and needless. I am not about to start bickering with people on a RP thread. What has happened has happened and we can either hold a grudge or look past it and move on. I am willing to do the latter.
pls put a shirt on before you continue talking
true true.
rephrase:
Don’t mess with the gang!
This has clearly turned public as it’s being brought to your thread. You should 100% show screen shots of you planning an event and agreeing this else you risk your credibility.
I chose the word prepared to kill everyone present very carefully. The intention was for the Highblood Myrmidons and some Thalassian members of the Grim Gest to infiltrate the meeting, with a few people (this being 5 people, not ‘an army’) staying back to act as backup in case the meeting was an ambush. I was explicitly asked to perform this role IC. We did not manage to get this far due to the bad OOC manners of the participants acting as the forward guard.
None of our characters attempted or performed any hostile action to any person present. We scouted out the region to find the meeting location and a suitable vantage point, and discussed the consideration of capturing or killing the guards.
That makes a lot of sense. If that was how the event would have turned out with you, I regret that you were turned away. However, that could have so easily have been figured out with just better OOC communication.
That is, sadly, what I have spent the last half an hour trying to say.
