Common sense laws are good, and I like them. But the big issue with them is people RPing individual Guards or, for example, another Guard guild. Quite often weâll have people come to us whoâve been reprimanded by an individual Guard, have a different punishment passed on them by us for the same crime. Thatâs why I like a google doc, cause it usually has concrete information. Obviously that doesnât eliminate the problem because individual Guardsâ canât grab it, but it at least gives us something to fall back on.
Typing speed is the least of my concerns for questioning.
All of them will do.
Magic laws are iffy, because you canât base them on irl laws cause obviously magic doesnât exist irl.
We do have the few meme in-game books regarding portal/polymorph/blinking rules & regulations, and if I had my way those would be the only rules that exist for magic.
Ouch. That is intellectual dishonesty. Letâs not go there. Nothing was referenced that requires external sourcing. It is either shown in-game, or repedeatedly established in cinematics.
Now, if you want to argue that those donât count, and that only -established lore- i.e; written lore such as books, background blurbs, quest info, and whatnot, then fine, but at least make the effort of presenting the argument.
If not weâre back to step one, which is that it is jerky behaviour, and youâve got no business telling anyone where they should play what, eh? Up to you.
One thing I do agree with in our lawbook is that any person conjuring magic of any variety should be treated as carrying a weapon, and thus approached as so.
Different document, but the rules are the same.
I prefer sticking to this. Using the game on its own as a source of solid lore information is really iffy.
A certain GM was totally cool with a Warlock getting into a dead guardâs head the other day so I doubt it, didnât ask for no âspecial licenseâ from a âmagic authorityâ.
On the subject of magical authority, who would that be, exactly? Canât imagine a bunch of low-wage beat cops having much say over the use of magic. The Kirin-Tor perhaps?
