[A-Event] Astranaar Spring Revelries

Spring is in full bloom, and Astranaar continues to recover from the Fourth War. To celebrate the regrowth of the ancient Ashenvale, the night elves and their close allies come together for communal activities.

Date: 26 May 2025 - 30 May 2025
Time: 20:00 ST
Location: Astranaar
Faction: Alliance
Contact: Acrona

Event details: The event hopes to bring more life to Astranaar for a week through a short event series, to help people interested in night elf roleplay connect. All the below events happen inside the town, starting at 20:00 Server Time.

Schedule

Monday 26th May: Story Night :books:

Many night elves have seen much in their life, and appreciate the art of weaving the fabric of history and imagination through stories. Whether it’s recounting heroic feats of the past, recalling mysterious encounters with spirits and shadows, or spinning whimsical tales bright with laughter!

In the same vein as the previous Ashenvale Story Nights, the narratives may draw inspiration from both recent and historical events, guild happenings, or your character’s individual escapades - no matter whether they’re true or fiction. There’s no requirement to sign up in advance.

If you’d like to share something, please prepare the story ahead of time, and split it for presenting at a comfortable pace In Character. In order to give multiple people a chance to share their piece, a single story should take no longer than 20 minutes to present, and may be just a few minutes short as well.

The story may also be told in the form of song or poem! Players are welcome to come listen without obligation to share a tale of their own. The Listener AddOn may be helpful to keep track of the stories. The Story Teller AddOn might make it more convenient to share a longer story.

Wednesday 28th May: Bonk-Alore Games :crossed_swords:

Played at the Alor’el Spring Festival, the Bonk-Alore sport makes a comeback! Kaitalos, whom some might recall from the Lunar Festival in Moonglade, will instruct the game for the participants. Will the energy be on par with the Moonball tournament?

Come play or spectate, the choice is yours! People will be given time to familiarize themselves with the weapons before the players are split into two opposing teams.

Friday 30th May: Guided Dances :dolls:

Kaitalos has convinced the travelsome Acrona and druid Bratus to join hands in hosting dances once again. Similar to the previous Kaldorei Dance Nights, they’ll guide the participants through three dances step by step. The dances require a dance partner, but worry not if you lack one upon arrival - the hosts will try match as many pairs as they can!

Please bring a transmog fan item with you! It will be used for one of the dances. Some players were inspired to visualize their fan designs for a previous dance event, and you’re more than welcome to do so again!

Update: Also if you were able to have the Convergent Prism toy, that’d be great!

Background music will be played via Watch2Gether website to help set the mood - link to the music room

:information_source: While people are welcome to create their own roleplay initiatives on the off-days, please be mindful of the impact they may have on the in-character atmosphere for the week. For example, while some DMed hunts would be perfectly fine, a sudden swarm of demons lurking in the woods or faction skirmishes might distract from the leisure ambience intended for the above events. When in doubt, please reach out to the host so we can talk about your idea. Thank you!

Indeed, the Astranaar Spring Revelries are about to bring the town to life! All events begin at 20:00 realm time. There’s no particular dress code, the atmosphere is meant to be quite informal/casual. I’ll be there tonight on Kaitalos, Moonhearth or Acrona.

For tonight’s story night characters are welcome to bring their own food and drinks to the event, and use the campfire for grilling while listening to the stories. :meat_on_bone:

Additionally, if there’s any night elf character who’d like to help the NPCs at the inn serve drink and food on any of the days, please let me know!

And please remember tonight’s Story Night happens inside Astranaar by the campfire next to the big lodge, not at the usual Ashenvale story night location near the town!

Thank you everyone who joined the Story Night and came to roleplay in Astranaar on Monday! It’s nice that such a simple premise can still attract so many people today.

Vil’dasir’sh Burningowl shared a story about a magical rain that brought a dozen mysterious crystals to the world, and how it shaped the fate of an Ashenvale elf.

Cristana’s thrilling chase-adventure coursed through the Dragon Isles and Northrend.

Lyla performed a song of her own writing, one of the time itself and the twists and turns of what life can be.

Thiel’s harp accompanied the verses of ‘The Song of the World’.

Thesalese’s adventure provoked thoughts on whether to choose mercy or vengeance.

Hatir shared her point of view venturing into the Emerald Dream to help save Amirdrassil.

Lorette Heffner brought a story of war and honor, one that inspired many she once knew.

See you on the field of Bonk-Alore tomorrow!

Come join Bonk-Alore matches in Astranaar tonight! Torianis also offered to host a food stall nearby with kabob and more! :oden:

You don’t need to bring any items of your own for the sport; the host and anyone else with the Foam Sword Rack are able to provide the swords. I’ll also provide the item color coding team Winter to grey.

Please note that in-character the foam swords are light, festively padded wooden swords!

Also a kaldorei sword pendant that will be granted to all Bonk-Alore players for their participation - regardless of how they fare in the tournament

Cheers everyone who joined Bonk-Alore last night and helped with the event - be that dropping down extra sword racks or Esa’leth and Saerira keeping up the smoke flares! Cheers Torianis for hosting the food stall late into the evening.

We first had the standard team Summer vs Winter tournament, and then proceeded to a couple all-vs-all matches, a showdown of three victors, and finally a pairs-vs-pairs match.

Match winners: Ravos, Dyonella, Brigita, Andreleth (paired with Neoleb)

It’s time to dress nice for the Guided Dancing in Astranaar! :dolls:

Kaitalos convinced the travelsome Acrona and druid Bratus to join hands in hosting dances again. Similar to the previous Kaldorei Dance Night events, the duo will guide the participants through three dances step by step so everyone can join. The dances require a dance partner, but worry not if you lack one upon arrival - the hosts will try match as many pairs as they can!

Completely optional, but you may macro the following emotes: /bow , /point , /wave /cheer

Please bring an off-hand item transmogged into a fan with you for the final dance!

Convergent Prism toy will also be used as part of the fan dance, but I’ve got plenty to spare should someone lack it (thanks Idalia). Please add this toy to an action slot on your UI :mirror_ball:

Background music will be played via Watch2Gether website to help set the mood - link to the music room (the link will also be in my TRP)

The dances - some might remember them from last year!

  1. Faerie Circle
  2. Night Chase
  3. Fan Dance

Half an hour to go! I forgot before - if you’d like to create a more spring-like atmosphere for the event, there’s the Date Simulation Modulator toy that is only visible to yourself and your party members (consider hiding the machine in the bushes by the inn if you’d like to take screenshots though). The Romantic Sunset option is very soft and pretty!

Dance with you all soon!

Thanks everyone who came to the dancing tonight & just to hang around! Many thanks to Bratus (Ryldor) for co-hosting and rehearsing the choreographies with me in advance.

I hope you enjoyed the Astranaar Spring Revelries - while I didn’t have the energy to organize a big festival like the old Darnassus Spring Festivals or the Alor’el Spring Festival, it was nice to do these smaller scale events along the week. :spiral_calendar: Onwards to summer!

I’m impressed you managed to take screenshots while also giving instructions and dancing yourself, Acrona! That’s some impressive multitasking.

I took some screenshots too, but only four I found worth posting:

I enjoyed all three events this week, but the dance night especially so. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make it there because I have board games on Friday evenings, but today they were canceled and I was able to attend the event. Looking forward to the next one!

All carefully calculated where I can toggle UI off for a few precious seconds

Thank you so much for these shots, Lintian! Always great to have you, many thanks for coming!
