A new low in M+

You don’t play M+ for the loot at the end of the dungeon, but for the challenge (and vault, lets be real) it provides.

Raid is for loot… I think? IDK.

More like inaccessible content from that PoV. Nothing dead about m+.

Also  from Dawnbreaker 8

That is why the quality of the content itself always comes first.

If Blizzard wants higher participation M+ rate, first make the dungeons fun.

TWW has some of the worst dungeons in wow history. And S1 M+ dungeon pool is horrible.

When the content itself is this bad, nothing will motivate players do them, no matter what the rewards are.

A man after my own heart. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I agree fully. I’ve been hard pressed to even care for M+ after reaching 2k as a tonk this season. Horrid pool, horrid mechanics, horrid almost everything… but I do love M+ so I just keep rotating my lowbie tank alts… :smiling_face_with_tear:

I like suffering apparently.

Yet there are hundreds of keys being done each day. It’s like swimming in the ocean while giving a seminar about why Earth is devoid of water.

If there are only hundreds of keys being done each day, that is the definition of dead content, considering the game has millions of players.

The game hasn’t had millions of players for a while now, mate. I do get your point tho.

Ok. We are on day 4 of week 4, so S1 has lasted 25 days. In that time there have been 7,200,760 keys completed on RIO. I would like to refine my number to 288,030.4 keys done per day, not counting unfinished runs.

Indeed Blizzard hasn’t released WoW sub numbers for many years now. But from various kinds of sources, its estimated current sub number is around 5-7 millions.

And according to raider.io, SL and DF had around 20 million M+ done per season in average.

https://preview.redd.it/dragonflight-m-runs-per-week-season-4-week-4-v0-sz9h3rmjos1d1.png?width=1165&format=png&auto=webp&s=5583e574e158f056efe2b0b0e92342f20fc7ef92

5-7 million players did totally 20 million M+ in a season, globally (including NA/EU/Asia). Let’s say each expansion lasts about 2 years, and each season lasts around 6 months.

So each player does less than 4 M+ per season (6 months) on average, which is less than 1 per month. That is pretty dead content.

And that is just average. In reality, 90%+ of those runs were done by the same 10%- players. M+ is pretty dead for the vastly majority of player base, and only alive for the minority passionate community.

Its not about direction - its about social engineering.

If needed Blackrock will toss them another gorillion of dollars to keep it going.

I didn’t realise that watching Rings of Power over tanking would cause such debate.

Everyone im safe and well and tanking for the PUG community.

A system that causes such polarising opinions is usually a system that is flawed and needs work.

Blizzard will tune the systems of the game to generate the most income and if that means giving away mythic gear then thats what will happen. The crafting system is a great example of this.

The best players will always be the best players no matter how mythic plus is tuned so all this back and forth is just moot point after moot point.

To most people right now M+ feels unrewarding not only from a gearing point of view but the dungeons themselves are boring, feel like hardwork and the fun moments are few and far between.

If I was doing 14s at the cutting edge i would expect a high element of professionalism and seriousness but in a PUG doing 7s noway. it isn’t worth it or needed so it takes the fun out of pugging especially as a tank or healer.

Blizzards systems and an already toxic community blend them together and this is what you get. Player disengagement. You can agree or diagree with my point but blizzards recent changes are solely down to this and forecasted loss of revenue has prompted these changes nothing else. The only voice they hear is cash!

you can play resto shaman or another meta dog class as dps lol

Hey, I missed what was wrong with tanking. Could you give details please and what spec you were playing?

Is this a prot warrior perspective?

If you make a LFG system… those “bad healers” are still gonna be there. They are not going away. So I ask you again. What exactly would that solve ?

Also let me guess… you had bad luck with lousy FOTM reroll RShamans that don’t know how the spec works. Especially those that think RShaman is OP and that with 2 buttons you can magically heal through anything…

Your assessment is garbage.

You dont count unfinished dungeons. And you also don’t count that people dont play for a whole season.

Some people stop at 2k. Others at portals. Other people don’t play every day, just 1 or 2 times a week… Ect…

So your assessment that only “10%” of people do it is garbage. Many people do.

If u use that logic then then pvp is even more dead.

And by that logic mythic raid is also dead.

Heroic raid is most likely dead for last 4, bosses etc etc .

Yes, they are dead. You are correct. I never said they are not.

Yes, you just describe it very well. People stops when they achieved their goals.
They are not continue playing it for fun. That is why the M+ scene is dead. The numbers don’t lie. 10% is probably wrong. it is more like 1%.

What about people that find fun in reaching their season goals?
