[A-RP] The Covenant of Teldrassil (Kaldorei/Worgen focused sorts)

We don’t have any events like the Raid on Silverwind Refuge that is a more large-scale thing going right now, so that’ll be updated once we actually have something.

Astranaar is the current location, yes, and that hasn’t changed. Once that changes, we’ll update it.

No issue, you can simply say there is none upcoming. It was an example. It’s helpful enough if the hub the Covenant is currently present is listed.

We’re not forcing anyone. Our main channel is Discord, we have an in-game community and a forum post, but the Discord is what we focus on primarily.

There’s a strong IC presence, so you have options.

Small updates can help out a community be it small or of a larger scale, especially for those who may not be aligned with a guild(or may not wish to join a guild).

I don’t feel like you understand what I’m saying, and why it is essentially forcing people, if they want consistent RP.

I do understand, I just don’t agree with you. No one is being forced, there is no ‘one option only’ and that being join the Discord or die.

You can simply be there IC and you’re not really going to miss out on much. Your guild’s even been there, had a hand extended out to you to partake in RP and you’ve refused.

I agree with this. I’ve had several friends that haven’t really joined the discord dip in in Astranaar for some RP with your folk. They’ve not necessarily been excluded from interactions at large. (From what they told me at least, mind you :eyes:)

All communications are now exclusively through my private snapchat story.

But as stated, it’s not that simple. If you’re not telling people where you are, outside of the covenant, and what you’re doing – you’re not being inclusive. You’re not openly inviting people.

Equally, I think it’s reasonable if someone doesn’t at that time feel like RP considering past experiences with your ilk.

Can we get another PR manager of the community, cause this 2.4k pvper seems to be broken already

Andoril, we summon thee!

What does my arena rating have to do with anything?

He’s gonna be mad when he finds out about your raiding history too

Cause your pvp (and raiding?) are the only thing you seem to be capable of reaching, instead of normalised and productive conversation without useless cheap blows and oblivious statements lol

Forums have definitely gotten more clunky since the rework, I agree – but I do not think they’re suddenly user unfriendly. There’s a search function if you need to search for something or someone, but the benefit of the forums lies within the fact that words mean more. People take the time to think through their replies, and consider their words more because their words actually stay visible to people who will read the thread later – it will not be buried underneath a pile of messages.

It’s a little weird that you assume I am not roleplaying but rather waiting on the forums for an invitation to roleplay; I’ve been very active in Astranaar over the past week.

That was exactly my point, yes! It would make the community initiative much more accessible if the forums were utilized. At the moment, it’s a little more than just “a harder time” – it’s nigh impossible right now. It’s harmful to say “that’s just the way it goes” when it’s not been the case in the past.

I think an OOC heads-up for events is always appreciated, so people can prepare themselves for the event, so people know when it is happening, and so on – not only does it help with the attendance, it also helps garner more interest and it allows people to prepare.

This is definitely another harmful attitude to the community. It would absolutely help the community to have a hub, be it moving or still, and announcing where you are is such a simple but helpful thing. You are naturally not obliged, but it would certainly help.

And that’s absolutely fine! The point is that not everyone is in the Discord, so the forums would help tremendously as another advertising channel for both individuals and guilds that are not in the CoT.

I think you’re clutching at straws when you’re poking at somebodies PvP rating to try and suit your narrative.

The subject was about exposure, not his ability to play the game.

I think someones already suggested it, but placing up a noticeboard of sorts can be helpful towards giving information towards others that may be seeking roleplay with your lot or those within the community. Just a hub notice, or events that are available and people can participate in.

As someone who’s cutting down on discord servers, I don’t really see myself joining one for the most part so having that in itself would be a massive assistance towards me to say the least if I wanted to roleplay with the Covenant.

I remember the following words said by Andoril around the launch of CoT as well: " The goal is reviving the night elf community and bringing it back to our former glory."

Now, judging from what I read above and heard from the people involved in this community, I assumed the Covenant was a more public community, using an Alliance of guilds so to speak to revive and promote RP for everyone in the night elf community. This would (I think) involve promoting casual RP, events for the night elf community as a whole, establishment of hubs and so on.

The criticism above is entirely aimed at the implementation. As mentioned a bunch of times before, this seems more like an alliance of night elf guilds planning events with each other and RPing with each other. The entire aspect of an initiative and community that promotes and creates RP for the wider night elf community sort of fell flat. The issue now is that when this community came to be, the night elf scene wasn’t in a particular good spot, and with the establishment of this community, it only changed for the worse. People are more or less indirectly forced into joining the discord / the community to find RP because hubs were dismantled further, since a large chunk of the night elf community is indeed part of the Covenant.

I feel there is a sense of responsibility there in being inclusive and open for the sake of maintaining a healthy night elf community where people can more or less easily find some casual RP or RP in general without having to join Discord, facebook or whatever other platform. I think the format I posted above would be a decent step into the right direction and generally communicating more via the forums.

I hope this sort of clarified some things? I am not sure. I might have just repeated what others said.

Pretty much exactly this. Personally, I don’t want to join a Discord server just for the occasional announcement, when I think the forums serve that purpose far better.
