From the arid dust of the Barrens to the forest of Ashenvale, The biting gales of Northrend and even the fetid skies oâer Lordaeron itself, the very name of the âCavaliersâ has become akin to a rallying cry to all those who stand below us! Tales of our chivalry, our glory and our mastery of the art of Aerial warfare have become second unto none, for none but those of upon gryphon-back could dare to climb so high as to grasp at the legend we shall forge!

<The Knights Gryphon> are a Brotherhood of Knight-Errants, beset by wanderlust and on a quest for glory and renown in equal parts, they seek to seal their names in the gilded annals of history. Endeavouring to set a new precedent for ideal of Knighthood, they crave to not only live up to but surpass the fame of the heroes of yore. Whether clad in shining plate atop their feathered steeds or dressed in finery fit for a timeless painting, whether locked in a duel with a noble foe or reciting their deeds before a crowd, they see themselves as the centre of whatever tale is being written.
The Concept
This guild is one focussed very much on the in character goals of prestige and perfection, whether it be the Knights in combat or the Retainers in their respective craft. Aiming to take part in both RP-PvP campaigns in order to gain rivals and RP-PvE for chivalric deeds and glorious victory, the Knights Gryphon seek to etch their name in the history books. In particular, their fascination and skill at gryphon mounted combat is something they seek to eternally improve and flaunt to all who care bear their grandstanding.
Having set themselves up as the âKnights of the Peakâ, not wielding any authority over the Wildhammer hold at all but rather seeing it as their charge to defend both from threats of harm and dishonour. As such, when not wandering they may often be found roaming and hunting within the Hinterlands to pass their time before their next quest.
Having both a distinct group culture and in character rule set (Albeit one with a certain level of ambiguity) in the form of a chivalric code, the Knights Gryphon hope to provide a unique setting where the bold and even brash are welcomed and applauded so long as they hold to a certain expectation of civility. Where character competition is encouraged without it devolving into constant snide comments and backstabbery to be top of the pecking order. Where one does not need to be blindly zealous in their hatred of everything that isnât part of their group or faction; respect between honourable adversaries is encouraged and applauded.
Ranks of the Knights Gryphon

Supplicant : Those wishing to join, whether already knighted or of humble origins must be initially judged as a supplicant. Their deeds shall be watched closely to see if they are worthy of bearing the honour of the Cavaliers, or whether they would bring naught but shame to the knights.

Retainer : The Artisans and craftsmen that accompany the Knights, providing their talents in return for gold, fame and glory. While often small in number, their role is essential for both the function and the flair of the Knights Gryphon to grow.

Esquire : Those previously without title who are starting the taxing yet glorious journey to knighthood! Many will be paired with a particular knight, expected to learn from them and act as personal servant until they come of title themselves.

Knight-Errant : Having proven themselves worthy of such an honoured title they are the vainglorious staple of the Order. Now mounted on the proud razorbeak gryphons that the Knights consider equals, they set out to conquer the skies themselves.

Knight-Valiant : Knights who have shown exceptional valour and skill, tasked with deeming the supplicants and Esquires as to their worth. Oft when the Knight-Gallant cannot accompany a quest, a Knight-Valiant will be tasked with holding the honour of the Peak in his stead.

Knight-Gallant: The Order Master, tasked with leading the Knighthood into the fray and standing on matters of collective Order honour. He stands as first amongst equals, coordinating but not lording over his fellow knights as they have already claimed honour beyond that of the commonfolk.

The Rules:
- No overly zealous crusaders or thinly veiled scarlets
- No drama or arguments in public or guild chats (Keep it to private messages!)
- No embarrassing the guild (Anything that might be considered distasteful in public is to be kept strictly to private or out of game channels)
- No characters with a trail of npc servants. (We do not want each character to be accompanied with an army of servants or npc guards)
- Have a decent grasp of written English. (Perfect English is not required to be possessed but certainly to be strived for.)
Race/Class restrictions

For Knights - Warriors and Paladins are the only two classes accepted due to the requirement and expectation to wear plate (Included as part of their ceremonial gear). In addition, races with strong knightly or similar traditions will be favoured but it will not be firmly limited to such (Humans, Quelâdorei, Dwarves.)

For Retainers - Due to the more broad selection of roles the retainers will fill, the limitations placed on the knights do not apply. However the retainer will need to produce one set of armour/garb that is in keeping with the Guild style for ceremonial purposes (Though they may wear a more personal/casual set normally). Please try and make it so that your class somewhat fits the role you are planning on taking. The retainers will also have a limited selection, e.g. you must have a distinct character type that is useful towards the Order (Blacksmith, Bard, Herald, etc) so please message Ashéton if you want to check first.

In addition the Order forbids all who use âFoul magicsâ so ic warlocks, shadow priests, death knights, void elves and such archetypes will not be allowed in. Equally, assassins, thieves, and other similar âUnchivalrousâ concepts are unlikely to be allowed.
