Honestly, if you want to RP whatever you want - it is, ultimately, your choice and no one can really stop you. But if you want your guild and yourself to be taken seriously and not like some Witcher-wannabe guilds in Stormwind - then you need to make some adjustments and take into the consideration of how to present a guild and what it has to offer to the players, because right now it is very offputting.

Thing is, instead of asking questions about matters where one wonder, one assumes instead, wich leaves me in little place to answer for a question. If you wish to know about matters that isn’t brought up in the first status, give me a question wich I can answer, or even take it IC for a more firm answer. This status was more made to gather questions and let people that I recruit. If they are curious, they can ask. I try to spend most of my energy on IC encounters, not in the forums.
Then you should expect little to no interest from the forums seeing as your forum recruitment isn’t deserving of your energy, and I hope to god that your in character presence isn’t as 2D as this stack of underwhelming headcanon.

I think the core idea could be something, bounty hunters for criminals, but overall it feels like a half-finnished idea with no long term planning. If you want to use a prison, can’t you use one that already exists like VH?
If you read the status it states just that, about the criminals. And the reason of why I don’t use VH is because IC Harold has his own prison at his isles, why should he use something else?
I’m under the illusion a lot of noble guilds are unaware that in certain European Kingdoms (I believe OP is heavily inspired with medieval and European nobility). aristocrats did not require to own land, rather they were nobles through either blood or Honorum (If I’m not mistaken that was where someone earned nobility status through service and deeds such as military conquest). Therefore, the act of making headcannon is quite unnecessary, as RPing as a landless noble could be a lot more interesting than the cliché “rich and powerful noble” stereotype we see so much of in Stormwind. Either way, best of luck with the guild, figured I’d add my own five cents into the conversation.

Well, the title Lord is short for Landlord, wich means you are a owner of lands.
Other way around. Landlord comes from lord, which itself comes from a Saxon/Germanic word carrying the connotations of feeding one’s followers. Took me a couple of minutes to Wikipedia that, man, & trace the source back to the Oxford English Dictionary.

If the guy is setting up a headcanon, lore breaking bubble RP I generally don’t see what the issue is.
He’ll be on the ‘Victory Islands’, which technically don’t exist so we’ll never have to see it?

In his defence, it’s not like Blizzard don’t invent whole continents or islands to suit their narrative whenever given the chance. It’s not like his head-canon is entirely implausible as much as some of the people in this thread simply don’t like head-canons and hey, I’m one of them.

He put his idea up here, and this is a forum, so we’re within our rights to criticise it. Nobody’s criticising his headcanon purely because it’s headcanon - there’s plenty of that on the realm to fill gaps in otherwise-vacant lore (hell, I’ve done it myself very often). We’re criticising the fact that this headcanon (which isn’t particularly inventive, interesting or believable) seems to be his entire guild concept. There’s nothing for prospective members to latch onto or enjoy, and he doesn’t seem to be the slightest bit interested in giving other characters some kind of meaningful role in his story. His entire guild concept is just showing off his fancy island story; there’s very little substance to it otherwise.

Now now! We don’t know that quite yet because like he said, there’s more being added to it. I’m not referring to your criticisms, Mathesonon! There are quite a few posts on here though, that are rather negative in nature and lack constructive criticism.

Seriously? This is the millionth thread I’ve been on where people are being attacked for stupid reasons. Harold is entitled to rp as anything he wants ffs. The rp community on argent dawn, especially on the forums, is extremely toxic and I’m frankly sick of it tbh. If you dont like what hes offering then ignore it! It’s simple as that!

Criticism =/= personal attack. Nobody has slandered this guy personally, only his guild concept. If you put something on the forum, you should expect both support and criticism. That’s how online forums work.
Alas, if you don’t like what the forum’s offering, then ignore it. It’s as simple as that!

There’s difference between critisicm and just plain hate-spewing and I shouldnt have to even say it. Even you have to admit how bad it is on the forums, you cant do anything now without someone jumping down your throat and not being constructive at all. Its pure negativity.

Then let his guild die. I don’t see why people feel the need to discuss/crap on guild ideas and concepts across 50 posts in a generally very rude and patronising tone. “Bad concepts” and “bad guilds” will die. Write one post with your critique, then move on.
