begins using words considered poor behaviour when used by the PCU.
Beyond that a lot of people here have greatly overconflated the power and influence of an RP community that was, by grand majority, just people RPing in their guilds and logging on at 19:00 and logging off 22:00-23:00 after RP was finished. I often don’t like to resort to blunt statements but some people here, after almost 8 years of this charade, really do need to just see to their own lives, their own betterments, their own happiness and
I say that as someone who has had no shortage of issues with Perroy, Morsteth, X, Y, Z etc. etc. the PCU discord only had 40-50 consistent talkers at any given time, which meant the other 300 were blissfully unaware.
Consistently deigning sainthood and considering ourselves moral arbiters of justice over fantasy online roleplay does no-one here any favours, this realm is full of issues, of malice, of discontent, of petty hatreds dating back more than 2 decades. It had its issues, but its long-gone and dead in the ground as are those who created the issues it had in the first place. Let the people who remain have their peace and simply RP in a hobby they’re passionate about without these embarrassing moral crusades against an enemy 3 years dead.
What else would you call it? Should I have used any multitude of synonyms that ultimately culminate in the same thing? It’s clear that people sharing their negative experiences pisses him off beyond all belief.
And yea, nobody is entitled to an answer or whatever about what A3 is doing but what force exactly is being applied? If nobody engaged with this thread the inquiry would be dead with literally nothing else than “Oh yeah, it’s just that old gang, still doing their thing. Waters wet, suns pretty hot, more news at 11”
I only engaged in the thread because I was curious if the group has changed to a point where I wouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable around them. And honestly I think they have for what it’s worth, but what’s certain is that Coalburnt is just as stuck, if not more, in the BFA hate train of old.
A myriad of different phrases that don’t have the implication (that we are both well aware of).
My Brother in the Holy Light, he’s been sharing several of his own within the PCU and I can verify each of them (even though I and Coalburnt rarely even see eye-to-eye ourselves). This really is just a case of
That’s good, the more people can reflect and offer introspection upon the issues of the past without weighing them upon those who don’t really deserve any sort of public executioner-esque judgement, then the better any discourse surrounding this will be. But it also means I need to ask you to look through your own comments here and see that you’re doing to Coalburnt what Coalburnt is doing to you; you don’t have to stop, of course, nobody can make you, I’m just asking if you could reflect on it. Better Man and all that.
I’m literally here advocating for people to move on and leave A3 to do things on their own time, so I don’t know where you’re getting this idea from.
Also out of the two of us you seem to be the one stuck in the past, furthermore believe me when I say you have very little effect on my wellbeing and my comments are forged of incredulity rather than anger.
Stuck in the past or just asking if times have changed? As I’ve said multiple times, my curiosity is genuine, but my experiences have made me hesitant. I don’t think anyone who felt chased/attacked/harassed by any other player would be open to just RP’ing with them for the sake of it because “it has been X amount of time”, you don’t really double-check if the stove is hot when you got burned once.
The biggest evidence against things being any different has been your abject rejection of even entertaining such a notion.
I have my own biases and perhaps am not the best person to mend bridges here. In the end it’s just a name - it can’t be denied that it is a bit on the nose, but Lunarglade is right, they’re even distancing from it so why discuss it.
I am really of the idea that heck, the forums is not where grudges will be solved. If the PCU or A3 will RP in a respectful way, word will spread and more people might want to engage with them.
Even if some of the replies above don’t exactly impress me, and I will very much follow my previous approach: I don’t mind to RP with a few players from the PCU now and then, but I personally do not plan on joining their campaigns or organizations.
The forums are the same cycle that happens every other time.
People just go round in circles until eventually the thread is locked or they can’t exacerbate anymore energy to the head to head clash until the next forum thread is posted up.
A few people don’t even play anymore they just come to debate, chat or argue sometimes.
Regardless of this though I have seen that some grudges have been resolved in this thread and the last which is a good thing to see.
The world is healing, slowly…Very slowly but surely.
They’re not, the forums are entirely performative. Your suggestion here is the way to go about it; engage with them, don’t engage with them, at the end of the day who cares.
More will be accomplished by actions in game, rather than continuing the insidious notion that this group of people is forever marked as undesirables, which serves no purpose other than continue the us vs them rhetoric.
we are so back right now. PCU the hot topic on the forums, lilynore trolling everyone, a blood elf taking an eon to finish writing their post in the latest thread
I really feel my age when I read stuff like this, even though reading them does give me a wry smile.
I was around during the original kernels of this whole kerfuffle, when there was no PCU and it was just a gleam in his, (and other’s) eye. I left almost all “srs” RPing behind after being hounded and doxxed by him back then, and eventually took an extended break from WoW during BfA. To see how much that seed had bloomed when I started nosying the forums before I came back at the end of Dragonflight was so surprising.
But, as has been said before this is all quite a long way in the past. And even if it wasn’t, noone can demand anyone come here and have to justify their groups very existence.
Just let it wither and die and allow this new (or old) group of people to do their thing. RP with them, me or anyone as you choose and if you have a good experience then all the better. If you don’t, then just turn the page and move on.
Hey I was just wondering, are you the guys that had a horde war council lately? That looked awesome and was wondering where I could find more info about all the guilds that are in A3.
I am sure the community is accepting of folks of all colours of the proverbial rainbow, but let’s not say that it is an outlandish question.
It might seem redundant, but there’s plenty a corner in Argent Dawn where a homophobic sentiment is present - even if this, I’m sure, is not one of them.
There is a reason why plenty of folks in Argent Dawn feel obligated to put ‘LGBTQ+ Friendly’ in their TRP’s information, and sadly, it’s not a very happy one.
Having been openly gay in the PCU since 2019 I can safely say that all discrimination I faced for it came from outside of the community (like the blog you’re named after!)
All of our guilds have their individual threads, feel free to browse through them and if any questions arise, feel free to ask. We are all open to answer things regarding each guild’s lore and modus operandi and what-not!
