So I made this account to play with my EU friends from NA, feb 20th 2024. I have paid TWO subs, TWO!! on this account since the original date and still got restricted on friday. I have made 9 YES 9 tickets without getting a resolution or an actual human being to talk to. I have tried contacting your developers on social media with NO RESPONSE. I was gaslit into thinking this was a bug MULTIPLE times by your bot customer service(the irony).
I was going to chargeback the money but you know what im doing instead because guess what? I live in the same state you operate business in, I filed a complaint with the attorney general and the BBB, I’d like to not take it a step further but we’ll see how things go with your lack of foresight and careless business practices. I suggest people do the same with EU consumer laws. They stole our money, we are not second class citizens, we pay the same amount as everybody else, NO WHERE in the time of payment did it say this would happen nor did we agree to this. my battle net account is AS OLD AS TIME. I have played this game since the game came out in beta and you lost me as a customer forever because i cannot and will not support this company ever again. I only foolishly gave this company another chance after the microsoft acquisition because they cleaned house a bit. All i wanted to do was enjoy SOD with my EU friends.
who ever made this desicion in blizzard should be fired, you upset thousnads of people and still you dont give a single F… fix this

This developer post says that there is supposed to be restriction on new accounts on SOD and Classic Era
i just logged in and was able to send mail again / ah works . HC era eu Nek´rosh. it seems the restriction has been lifted for me.
thank you for that - but announcment and communicationwise it left a lot to be desired!
They don’t care about you AND will keep your money. It’s theirs now. This is the true face of blizzard and we will have to come to terms with it.

Of course, we want this change to impact legitimate new players as little as possible. We understand that this level of restriction will impact gameplay, so we’re evaluating the effectiveness of this change very carefully. If we stick with it, we’ll consider adjusting the restrictions to further minimize negative impact to new players.
He just says they know this is a bit harsh for legitimate new players and they will evaluate

I raised a ticket asking for a partial refund for the part of my first month subscription where the game isn’t really playable (I’m now L40, but I can’t afford my mount as I can’t sell things) and they just resolved the ticket with a canned response.
I used to love Blizzard games and I’ve always had good experiences with GMs when mishaps happen (from like 15 years ago!) This whole thing makes me think Blizzard no longer cares about their customers. The only reason I created a new account was because I moved from the US to the UK 10 years ago and started again and they wouldn’t (not couldn’t, wouldn’t) move my US account (with thousands of hours of playtime, funny I’m now restricted) to the EU so I could play with friends.
I hope Blizzard gets back to its roots about caring about its customers, because I’m starting to lose interest.
My situation is similar, I played on US servers occasionally for the past 14 years. Recently my friends who live in Europe convinced me to come play with them on the European server, suddenly I find myself restricted just as the new phase begins. What a lack of seriousness and professionalism. what a shame on blizzard’s part
Jesus the communcation in your staff really isnt existing i guess since your saying two totally different things… This is the nail in the coffin gonna ask for refund.
Its obvious you dont want new players anymore. I urge everyone elese in this situation to do the same and ask for refund.

Freaking Bots farming stockade and all spots all over the world for months… They made amount of gold you cant even imagine and now all new players cant play the game… Totally scamm from blizzard… And there are btw still bots in stockades every server… .Fix this at least first that doing what you do. Any GM Who really cares can fix like all bots in a week manually. But you making some autosystem that banning normall people … Like mass reporting system etc. You know that there are some toxic guilds who banned alot of people just cause they dont like them… I cant belive all this happening inside blizzard game.
They wont refund already opened 2 tickets, two times bot reply saying it’s not allowed as the gametime is already being consumed…
You just gotta file complaint at the European digital commitee.
I guess I will too. I did not get any information of this upon buying the subscription. Everything worked fine the first days then all of a sudden I’m locked out of vital features which are like 95% of the game… They stole my money for 5% access to the game…
I am just so disappointed in Blizzs behaviour regarding this.
I joined 3 weeks ago after not playing since WOTLK. WoW was the game that made me fall in love with MMOs (played Ultima Online and EverQuest prior). I joined late because i had not heard about SOD before, i really do not follow gaming news or gaming influencers.
I had so much fun the last 3 weeks since SOD really cater to not having a massive amount of free time to game (levelling wise). And because of the 100% (50% when i started) XP bonus i could play it like I love, AKA levelling a lot of chars simultaneously. I levelled every class to mid 20s and farmed mining/skinning on everyone and sent it to bank alt to sell at AH. then i focused to lvl 1 char to 40 for mount with enough gold to buy the it. I arranged for time off from commitments this past weekend to have fun playing, but surprise surprise - here you go: restrictions.
Since my play style is alt focused the lack of AH and in game mail just killed my desire to play the game. I know I am on of the lucky ones that do not have to wait long til restrictions are lifted, but Blizzs decision to F### over the new and recurring players with no notification or heads up of any sort is shocking. And when a lot of players get frustrated and creating tickets, posting on forums about this, they respond with several different explanations. Their own support staff(ai bots) did not know what was going on either. They waisted my time logging out for 24 hours, reinstalling the game, researching forums etc. What a s##tshow.
This experience has just left a bitter taste.

We’ve been recently experimenting with a change to Classic Era and Season of Discovery that places restrictions on new accounts that have not yet purchased and consumed one month of gametime (i.e. one month has also passed since the purchased time).
My account is literally ruined, i cant use AH, cant buy consumes, cant participate in raids, cant lvl proffesions, cant do anyhting. If i wanted to play selffound i would make that choise, now you are forcing me to play like that even tho i payed subscribtion, what is this?
